  • William Street Nursery, Windsor
Situated in Windsor town centre, William Street is a small and welcoming nursery close to the river and the railway station. The nursery is well designed with the capacity to meet the needs of children from three months to five years and is registered to take 50 children.

The nursery has a well equipped baby unit supporting under twos with their development through sensory exploration. The staff are caring and attentive and work hard to meet the needs of the individual children.

Within the 2-3 year old unit, the children's day starts to become more structured to prepare them for Preschool. The team introduce circle times and more structured activities to ensure the children are secure in their prime areas of learning

When the children reach the age of 3 years, the transition into Preschool, the team promote and scaffold the children's learning by building on what they already know to help promote their independence, confidence, self esteem, communication and language skills and health and hygiene.

William Street has a well-designed secure outdoor play area and is situated close to the river and green spaces, where the children can go out on trips into the local area and get involved with activities happening in the local community.

If you are interested in registering your child/or would like to book a personal tour please get in contact with the Nursery Manager.

Couldn’t wish for more from a nursery. My 3-year-old son has a myriad of allergies to navigate - the nursery has helped with this in a safe and inclusive way that my son has thrived under their care. In an excellent location, they regularly take the children out on trips to Windsor Castle, parks, care
homes, walks through town. My son runs in happy every day and I feel at ease knowing he’s in very safe, fun, educational, caring hands.

I am thrilled to recommend William Street Nursery to any parent seeking a loving and stimulating environment for their child. My daughter has flourished under the care of the dedicated and passionate staff. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, making drop-offs and pick-ups a breeze. Engaging activities
and play areas that encourage learning and exploration. A clean and safe environment, with clear protocols in place. Regular updates and communication from the staff, keeping me informed about my child's day. A focus on building social and emotional skills, preparing children for future success. The staff are truly exceptional. They are attentive, patient, and kind, taking the time to understand each child's unique needs and personality. My child has formed strong bonds with the caregivers, and I appreciate the extra effort they put into making every day special. I am grateful for the experience and highly recommend it to anyone seeking exceptional care for their child.

I am very happy with my son’s overall growth and learning and the best part is he looks forward to going to his nursery. All the staff are very caring and supportive. What else a parent would need? We even get his growth/development feedback regularly which helps us to figure out how we can help in
his growth.

Lovely nursery that my little boy loves. My second baby boy will be starting in September. They arrange lots of outings and have great connections with the local community to organise exciting activities for the children. Very welcoming and friendly team.

My young son attended William Street Nursery, Windsor for just over two years. Some of the teachers were friendly and smiley and my son took to them nicely. However, that was not the case across the board. Unfortunately, it seemed the more Senior members of staff were, the experiences became more unpleasant.
This was certainly the case with the head office. Most alarming of all though was the health and safety record. My son ended up in A&E on 2 separate occasions with lacerations to his head that required stitches. It should go without saying that your child’s welfare is the most important criteria when choosing a place of education and unfortunately, William Hill Street Nursery failed to provide a safe place. Recent Ofsted inspections should have rung alarm bells so please do consider these when choosing a nursery. There are other more affordable nurseries to choose in the locality as well, but it is not on affordability grounds that William Street Nursery scores a low review.

My husband and I were so sceptical about sending our son to nursery, however when we first went to visit William Street Nursery, The Manager was so warm and engaging with us. She took us around each floor of the nursery explaining the layout and each room, she answered our questions but mostly our son
was comfortable and exploring the baby room. The rooms were filled with lots of toys and looked very exciting for the little children. After 9 months of our son attending, we couldn’t be any happier with his outcome and development. The nursery staff are amazing and caring. The nursery provides lots of activities inside as well as outdoors. We are so thankful to the staff at William Street for looking after our son.

This is a very nice boutique nursery. The staff are lovely and friendly and often go above and beyond. My child is happy going here. They have improved a lot in the last year and the current manager is great and worked really hard to improve everything ( recently confirmed by an updated Ofsted rating).

They are right in the centre of Windsor which is great for activities for the little ones. A bit more challenging if you need to drive but otherwise great location!

Rated 4 out of 5 simply because I feel the staff are sometimes overstretched. They still try their absolute best (and with a smile!) But I think they could do with some extra headcount.

My son has been at William Street since he was 10 months old. Over the last 8 months, he’s really developed his speech and language skills and I’m starting to see improvement in his social skills too and I think his time at nursery has definitely contributed to that.
The main things I’ve been impressed
by are how well the nursery utilises the small outside space, the consistency in care (I’ve found some other nurseries have a very staff turnover rate) and particularly, by how often the children are taken outside the nursery setting! He’s often going on learning walks to the supermarket, off to the library or at the river feeding the ducks. I’d definitely recommend William Street.

Our child has so much fun here and is truly developing into a wonderful young person getting ready to go to school next year. There are so many trips out around the town and they are developing social skills. Then in the nursery, they are fine-tuning motor skills, learning about food and growing some.
And the fab outside rooftop garden keeps them active and exploring. Plus the team are all so super lovely and put on events too like Halloween parties etc.
We are so thankful for the team and support they offer our children and parents as a whole. A real safe haven.

My daughter is nearly eighteen months old and has attended William Street from around six months old. The staff in the baby room are brilliant and she is happy and excited to attend nursery each day. The dedication of the staff to organising daily activities is incredible, there is always something
new and a wide variety inside and away from nursery, including trips to the library, park or river to feed the ducks. The attention to care and safety is excellent and the management are organised with weekly parent briefings. Staff are always pleased and have time to chat about the children's day on pick up. The app is useful for staying in touch and seeing what's going on throughout the day. It is a great nursery.

My daughter has been going to William Street Nursery for four months now.
She is very happy on our way to the nursery in the mornings. I have noticed a good improvement in her confidence participating in all the activities and with her English and communication skills.
They have a good curriculum
and key person system implemented that it really works. I think it is a safe and reliable place to take my daughter to.
The staff are very professional, well trained and caring. They always keep you updated on what is going on during the day on their app.
The setting has everything to cover her basic needs even fresh food cooked by their own cook. They have a menu for three weeks which I see very varied, healthy and children focused. The activities are stimulating for her age and take my child's preferences and likes into account while focusing on her development and skills improvement. They have a big terrace at the back of the building where they go everyday to do physical activities.

Our daughter settled in so well at William Street, all thanks to the great staff and the very welcoming environment. Facilities are excellent, very clean and the kids are fed very well. Our daughter loves the outside excursions and playing in the sandpit and water tray.

My daughter has been going to William Street Nursery for 4 months and is very happy there. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to ensure the babies and children are happy. The baby room is large and very well equipped, even having a dedicated sleep room complete with cots and blackout
blinds so that the babies can get quality naps in during the day (we didn't see such good facilities in any other nurseries we looked around). The nursery also has a very thorough settling in plan to ease the babies (and parents!) in without overwhelming them which made the process so much easier for us. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since starting at William Street!

My daughter has been in William Street since she was one. She is happy in the nursery, and I am impressed with the amount of learning she acquires. The nursery is well staffed, the space in play areas is big, and the food is well balanced. My daughter likes the nursery and even misses it when we are
on holiday. Preschool learning is great and provides a good transition from the nursery to reception.

Very big rooms to enable children to have lots of space to explore. They are always doing different and varied activities whilst incorporating learning through play.

Updated regularly through an app of what they have been doing throughout the day with lots of videos, pictures and observations to

see.

My little boy always comes home covered in paint and messy play ingredients which is a very good sign of a good productive and happy day!

Staff always are there to listen and help in any way they can and adapt to how your child is feeling and in need of that day. Food is varied and plentiful.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.100)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.100) out of 10 for William Street Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.500 for William Street Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for William Street Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.8

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My Name is Kerri, I have been working within the childcare sector for over 10 years. I love the reward of seeing the children progress and building up relationships with families. I am a trained and certified Baby Massage instructor and I held courses for families when I worked in a children’s centre as an outreach worker. I am also trained in breastfeeding, nutrition and weaning, safeguarding, Senco, behaviour management, first aid, food hygiene as well as more. I also achieved a gold award in my early years at a previous setting which I am very proud of.

I have a crazy dog at home called Rupert and in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and his two children Molly and George. We love going to the cinema to watch the latest films and swimming. I also enjoy going out with my friends for afternoon tea or a theatre show.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hello, my name is Tania and I have been in childcare for 15 years. I started off as a nursery assistant completing my level 2 and level 3 in childcare. I began my childcare journey working in Windsor and then supported in various London settings. I worked my way from nursery assistant to room leader and then I had the wonderful opportunity of becoming a part-time nanny/nursery nurse through Asquith which is now Bright Horizons. I was one of the original three members who had this opportunity and I attended nursery on the other days with the children I cared for so had the best of both worlds.

I wanted to further my own professional development so then supported my nanny team by recruiting, interviewing nannies and training them in their roles. I then moved to Farnborough in Hampshire to become a deputy manager but remained with the same company. I then decided I wanted a change and as I was moving back to the local area and thought this was the perfect opportunity. I moved to William Street in May 2020. It’s been a wonderful experience working for a smaller company which is very passionate about family and to be able to have the opportunity to have more of our own stamp on things.

I am extremely passionate about my job and enjoy seeing the children grow into wonderful characters and supporting them in their learning.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to the gym, cinema, going for dinner with my partner and spending time with family and friends.
