Fennies Bromley is absolutely amazing! My 9-month-old twins love going to nursery and have settled in so quickly with the lovely staff there. All of my fears and worries were put to ease instantly. I love getting daily updates and knowing my twins are in a safe, caring and fun environment. They have
become so much more confident and love their nursery teachers! I couldn’t recommend you sending your children here enough!
Massive thank you to all the amazing staff for looking after our children during this trying time!

Sending your child to nursery, especially during a pandemic can be incredibly scary. Fennies Bromley at Blyth Road have been fantastic since my daughter started. They are sympathetic to new parents' anxieties and worries and are supportive with "settling in days".

The staff are all so caring and

seem to know all the children - they don't use bank staff at all. They have fantastic activities each day and support your child's learning based upon their needs and interests.

The food is of a very high standard and ensures children have a varied and balanced diet and the chef is so kind and knows all the children.

I love the nursery's ethos of being eco friendly with low waste, plastic and by using wooden toys. They also support this with fantastic eco learning activities for doing at home.

The classrooms, toilets, food prep space and outdoor areas always look clean.

In summary, we feel very fortunate to have our child in such a nurturing environment where she seems to be thriving!

Our daughter absolutely loves it there! We are extremely happy with her development, and the staff (always accessible, quick to reply, takes time to speak to us, etc). We couldn't have picked a better nursery for our little one. Highly recommended!

My eldest used to go there and my youngest is there now in the preschool room, both started nursery when they were just over 18 months. Very happy with the nursery. The facility is bright and clean, the staff is friendly. My daughters have a great bond with their teachers and they talk about them a
lot at home. Yes, the turnover is high among temp staff, however, there are staff that has been there for many years too, and they are absolutely amazing. My girls adore them. We have used other nurseries before Fennies and to be honest, all nurseries have staff turnover, it's pretty normal. Will definitely miss the nursery and the teachers there once my little one is off to school.

My child has been going to Fennies Blyth Road for almost two years. She loves it there and I would definitely recommend this nursery. It has modern facilities and is well kept. The garden is great. Much improvement since the management changes (it was really good before, but new staff members are great).
At least four staff members have made a real impact on my child. The staff engagement and communication with the children is outstanding. We love the regular (weekly) updates of what our child is up to on the online sharing platform. Plus even some one-on-one teaching/guiding in preschool. They were proactive and very supportive with toilet training. I was more than impressed with the communication from Fennies in relation to Coronavirus. Only negative was parent events could be improved, we'll see with new management (otherwise I would have marked excellent). Nutrition is good, they sent out an info sheet recently which made me less on edge about them having ice cream, etc.

My son has been going to Fennies since he was 8 months old and I love all the staff he’s come into contact with. They always do best by him.
There’s one member of staff who I’ve spoken to management about who has gone above and beyond for my son. As my son nonverbal and at nearly 3 I wanted to do
sign language with him. This member of staff has taken resources home and learned sign language to engage with him more. Since the lockdown, speech therapy and this member of staff learning sign language I’ve seen my child come on so much!
I’m so impressed! Thank you so much Fennies!

My child has been attending Fennies for roughly a year and a half and in that time has come on in leaps and bounds with his speech and learning. Fennies are very caring towards the children and my son tells me regularly how much he likes his key worker and other staff in his room. Although it took
my son some time to settle in he is now always excited to go to nursery and hurries me out of the door to get him there as fast as possible. We have had a few issues with food in the past but this has been addressed and dealt with well by the management team who I cannot recommend highly enough.

Just wanted to take time to thank all the nursery staff at Blyth Road. Our daughter has attended here since she was 1 and she is turning 3 soon. Her development over the years has been amazing and this is down to all her nursery teachers. She attended during lockdown and I cannot praise the manager
enough. There were difficult times where our daughter was very stressed going into nursery and she was fantastic helping us all as a family get through it. Our daughter now runs to the door in the mornings and loves attending nursery. Thank you all for the hard work - we love Fennies.

We had really high standards when looking for a new nursery for our 1 year old and 3-year-old. We're very picky. Our kids have been here for the past 3 months and we're both really, really happy. The staff are all so nice, the kids LOVE them. The space itself is gorgeous and really well equipped. The
outdoor space is amazing. We get regular updates on the parents' app which is great. I love being able to see what they've had for food during the day. The staff who head up the team are really friendly and have gone out of their way numerous times to change something or if we've asked them to. Most importantly, the kids are so happy there. They love being dropped off and always have a big smile on their face when we drop off/collect. I know from previous reviews that the site used to have a big turnover and definitely had room for improvement but it seems, since we've been attending, there's been a real shift in a positive direction.

My son started at Fennies (Bromley) in March 2020, just before his third birthday. To avoid another quick transition, he went straight into the pre-school room which I was a little bit nervous about as he was going to be the youngest child in that room, he was still napping and had only just been toilet
trained. The staff and the children in the pre-school room have been amazing from the beginning - it didn't take him long to settle in and start making 'friends' and his learning and development has been fantastic. Everyone has been so welcoming and I have been particularly impressed with the leadership shown from the new management team who make the whole place feel inclusive and supportive. I welcome the regular updates, with photos, which shows me what sort of daily activities they get up to and my son always has a big smile on his face when I collect him at the end of each day.

My son started Fennies at 1 is now 16 months. I can honestly say Fennies is an outstanding nursery. When we went to have a look round the facilities they completely stood out from the competition. The nursery is decorated and maintained to a high standard. The rooms are large and I love that each individual
age group has an outdoor space suitable for their age group and needs. My son's room has a lovely adjoining roof terrace with astroturf! The key leaders and staff are positive and attentive. They also seem very nurturing and I often walk in and see my son having a nice cuddle with one of the team, and it's reassuring as a mum to know that he is really in good hands. They do lots of fun activities and post pictures to your private login so you can see the cute things they get up to. He's also developing important skills like eating independently much faster since being there. It won't be long until this place has a 2-year waiting list. I should sign up now before I have another baby!

My daughter attended during Autumn 16 before we moved her elsewhere as it wasn't the setting we'd hope for. The permanent staff are good and my daughter warmed to them quickly but as new parents to nursery life, we found the staff turnover tough. Some days I'd drop her and not recognise anyone in the
room as they had so many temporary helpers. It's hard to leave your child that way! I thought the induction was v poor, I had to request info such as policies, menus and had lots of incident forms to sign as she was bitten! I feel my daughter did enjoy it but I felt left out as a parent, not entirely sure what was going on. Lots of emails about staff changes and finally a poor Ofsted made us move her. It's a shame Fennies is struggling, the facilities are great and they have the potential for a good nursery. I believe the new nursery manager will help, she was improving parent contact already. For us, it was a really bad time to join but I wish them luck in making improvements.

Fennies Bromley has a very long way to go.
Staff turnover is incredibly high with some staff leaving within a few weeks, poor level of engagement with staff who generally don't seem to care.
My child was there for 2 years and several times I'd pick her up and staff wouldn't know key details about
her, which I find unacceptable! I was told by the staff that portion of food is ridiculous. The premises are amazing but the nursery is failed by its staff. As a parent, you don't feel listened to, I certainly never trusted them and always felt like I was intruding when asking questions.
Being congratulated by some staff members for taking my child out of Fennies was the icing on the cake!
My child seemed happy to go and seemed to have fun, though, which is why we tried to make this work for so long.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.036)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.036) out of 10 for Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.964 for Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.964

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.072 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fennies Bromley, Blyth Road is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 number of registered child places is 18.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.8 = 0.372

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
