My little girl (aged 19 months) attends this nursery once a week, she has done since she turned 1. The staff are also lovely and friendly. My daughter loves going and it's never a problem getting her there. There is always such a happy feeling about the place.
Also, I like the regular updates they
give on the app, meals, nappy changes, activities and photos. I would recommend this nursery 100%.

This nursery is absolutely fantastic! My nearly four year old has been attending since she was 9 months old and my one year old has just started. The staff are friendly, kind, approachable, enthusiastic and always child focused! They have always made me feel confident that my children are extremely
well cared for and happy. They also encourage my children to try new experiences whilst developing their social skills. The environment is always clean, safe, bright, cheerful and inviting. They make regular changes to features to keep things new and interesting for the children. The outside garden area is brilliant. Play equipment includes a slide, sandpit and trikes. The staff encourage the children to spend as much time outside as the weather allows.

My son has been attending YMCA, since he was 1.5 years old, he is nearly 5 and about to start school. So he’s been lucky enough to go through the baby room, toddler room and preschool and everyone we’ve met on the way have been amazing with him. The staff here have always been so helpful, as a first-time
parent picking a nursery was so nerve-wracking. I visited so many but here was just perfect. I always know what he’s done with his day and what he’s eaten and for me, when choosing a nursery this is exactly what I was looking for. The staff are so friendly and willing to help and always greet us with a smile and every question or query has always been dealt with. If my son went in unsettled in the morning, the staff have always called to let me know he was fine straight after I've left, which has always been so appreciated. Every staff member we’ve met has always been so lovely and friendly towards us and all my questions and queries have been dealt with straight away.

My son has been going to YMCA Nursery Woolston for 18 months now and he absolutely loves it. All the staff are so friendly and caring. There are always lots of activities and things for him to do. They go out of their way to accommodate my son's needs. I can't imagine him going anywhere else.

Terribly disorganised management who had no clarity. They failed to transition my kid to preschool systematically from allocating a key person in managing the funding process.
I was always in doubt why the 4:1 not followed which should be the standard. It used to be some random person handing over
my kid and as a result, no one knew how she was. At last, I pulled my kid out as she expressed herself that she's not happy there. On the last day, My kid was crying badly and no one knew what happened! It wasn't acceptable as I know she wouldn't cry on petty matters.
The days at YMCA were emotionally draining for her, no learning curve, no activities to engage her. Their parent zone updates were a joke. Prior management was pathetic. They had no courtesy and absolutely rude. They have to be inclusive and accommodating to the parents who trust them with their young kids. For those little ones, they are at the crucial age of observing and learning. I am very glad that I moved her out timely.

The Nursery is always staffed to ratio of 1:3 in babies, 1:4 in toddlers and 1:8 in preschool. Rotas are provided weekly to make sure at all times these legal requirements are met.
Weekly planning and continuous provision is in place in each room providing the children with a variety of exciting learning experiences that match the individual child’s developmental needs and next steps.
We strive as a setting to provide the best possible care for our children and we are truly sorry you feel this was not the case with your child. We, of course, take any feedback seriously and use this to inform our practice and improvement plan moving forward.

The key person approach in the baby room is excellent. They know my child really well and support all his developmental needs as well as dietary.


They go on lots of walks which I love as he gets to go and explore the world around him.


They have lots of space to explore and do lots of messy activities.

really like the new parent zone app that allows me to see each day how much food, milk, nappies and sleep he has had plus observations and photos.

We have one child in Babies (0-2 years) and one child in pre-school (3-4 years). They have been going for one year today and we have never had an issue with either child/room. Both children absolutely love nursery and have formed lovely relationships with their key workers. The play is varied, fun and
thoughtful and they get to play lots in the garden which was refurbished last year. I could not recommend this nursery more. Having siblings in the same nursery brings comfort to my husband and I as we know they get the opportunity to see each other throughout the day. I’ll be sad when my daughter leaves preschool in September for school and only hope she can form similar relationships with her teachers.
Every member of the team is cheerful and helpful, including ones you may not see like the accounts team. Plus they eat so well, so many snacks and a good variety of main meals, some are themed too! Thank you YMCA Woolston!

My child has attended this nursery since he was 9 months old. We have experience of both the baby room and the toddler room. Both settings have provided excellent care, with the staff fully engaged with the development of each child. The space is fantastic with a great outdoor environment. They are

My son has attended the nursery for the last 18 months and has recently moved into the toddler room. He has developed leaps and bounds since starting at the nursery in every way. He has become a happy, confident and adventurous little boy. My son cannot wait to get to nursery in the morning and enjoys
every moment of his day.
It's extremely reassuring to know that all the staff are on hand to help with anything that is asked of them, even the odd mummy requests! I could not have asked or wished for anything more since returning to work full-time.

We got "the feeling" as soon as we walked in on our initial visit to the YMCA Nursery Woolston and both my husband and I knew immediately that this was the right place for our daughter. She settled in really quickly and enjoys spending time with her key worker and other members of staff. There is a
wide range of activities and they spend lots of time in the outside play area and trips to the park when the weather is nice. We are kept updated with a handover at the end of each day (what activities they have done, what she has eaten and how long she has slept etc) and gets lots of pictures on tapestry, so we can see what she has been up to. Highly recommended.

My daughter has attended YMCA Woolston for a year now and has recently progressed to the toddler room in this year. The staff have always been happy and helpful and respectful showing genuine care and concern for my daughter's well-being and progression and development. My daughter loves it here and
gets excited when we arrive. There is always some fun activity going on and they often take the children out to local points of interest.
