Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury is a thriving, village based, family owned nursery, that prides itself at being at the heart of this exceptional village community.

In a caring and loving environment, children experience a wide range of learning initiatives, including messy and sensory play, with a strong focus on interacting with the outside world. The approach is to closely respond to children's interests, which has seen the arrival of a full size fork lift truck as part of a construction project, and the teaching of pizza making and basic Italian lessons as part of a multi-cultural project.

The passionate, experienced and caring team provides a safe and loving environment for children aged three months to five years. There are three rooms - under two's, toddlers and preschool. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year, offering full day and half day sessions (7.30-1 or 1-6.30)

CCTV is installed in all rooms and operate a biometric finger print entry system, ensuring the safety of the children. The nursery offers two home-cooked hot meals each day.

We have recently relocated to the area and managed to get a place for both my two children here. We were so apprehensive about having to move our children, but honestly, we needn’t have worried at all. Banana Moon has been OUTSTANDING.
All of the staff are so hardworking and warm, friendly and caring.
The owner has been so accommodating, and communication with parents is fantastic either via email or the app. I’ve really felt listened to as a parent, and they’ve ALL been amazing with the kids! They both absolutely love it there and are thriving. We couldn’t ask for more from the nursery are so pleased we made the move.
We 100% recommend Banana Moon Harbury! Thank you!!

Please don’t hesitate to choose this nursery for your child. Super professional, organised, caring and supportive of child’s needs, whether physical, emotional or developmental. Excellent management and great staff, healthy home-cooked meals and good adherence to the Early Years framework. A very positive

My little boy joined nursery during lockdown last summer so I’m aware that I am not getting the full experience of the nursery due to Covid restrictions however the experience through these difficult times has been excellent. Communication is brilliant and I love the app which means I can see throughout
my day what my little man has been up to. He really enjoys his day at nursery.

Our daughter has been attending Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury since she was twenty months old when we relocated from Dorset. All the staff have been wonderful and really helped settle her in when she first started and then with the transition between rooms. Our daughter is always happy when we pick
her up and loves telling us about all the activities that she has been doing in the day. The staff are great at giving us updates in person and via the app and they have also helped our daughter with her fussy eating. The manager and one other member of staff have been exceptionally helpful and accommodating when we have needed extra or altered childcare arrangements. I would highly recommend Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury as our daughter loves it and we are very happy with every aspect of the nursery.

I love it here and so does my son who is two. He has loved every room he has been in so far. Every week he is learning new things and he is coming along really well thanks to all the staff here. I have been taking my son her since he was six months old and have never had one bad word to say about the
nursery or the staff. They are really understanding and work well besides me if my son is having any health issues.

My son started at Banana Moon back in June and despite all of the various restrictions due to COVID, I have been delighted with the care and support he has received at Banana Moon. The staff have made every attempt to ensure parents are kept up to date on their child's development both at drop off and
collection and via the app. The app has been invaluable and I love seeing the updates on what he has done during the day. On the rare occasion he has been a bit unsure at drop off the staff make sure to contact me to let me know he is ok.

Our daughter joined the nursery during the pandemic and they have been brilliant - she settled in super quickly despite not having the usual start which was testimony to how great they are. They are hugely adaptable to all the rules and regulations to keep the children and the staff safe. Always really
approachable and give regular updates personal to your child but also to the daily running of the nursery. Our daughter has progressed hugely in all aspects and is always so happy to go in and loves all the staff. We are so pleased we chose Banana Moon Harbury.

My twins joined Banana Moon during lockdown, we had relocated back to the UK from Canada and they were extremely unsettled. Banana Moon was their daily dose of fun and routine. They settled in instantly. The staff are incredibly loving, caring and helpful. Accommodating to the end. My boys left every
day full of smiles and chat about all the fun they’d had that day.

Both my children absolutely loved going to Banana Moon in Harbury. The staff are so friendly and professional. The children have such a good relationship with the staff and they were always engaged. I can’t recommend them enough, especially during these COVID times, they really made the children feel

Our daughter started at Banana Moon just as lockdown started. They have been so supportive with her settling in and their communication has been great, which helped to alleviate any concerns we may have had.

My 16-month-old son currently attends Banana Moon two days a week in the baby room and I couldn't be happier! Friendly and familiar faces everyday and personal feedback at the end of each day telling me wonderful and funny things they have been doing and how my son is developing in certain areas. I
knew this was the right nursery for my second son after my first son adored the nursery and was so sad to leave when it was time for him to start school!
The app they use is wonderful - knowing I can keep up to date with how my son has eaten, slept, nappy changes alongside the huge range of activities he's been doing all whilst I'm at work is so comforting!

My son has been attending the nursery for 3 years, in which time we’ve watched how he has developed strong friendships with staff and children. He thoroughly enjoys his time at the nursery and it’s been lovely to see how the staff tailor his learning to his interests, making learning fun. For instance
making an outdoor marble run, which helps with communication, sharing and teamwork. The meals provided are fantastic and reassuring to hear first hand from my son how scrumptious they are.
If ever we needed to liaise with the management there was always someone on hand to ask or super fast response via email when out of hours.

The first thing for you to know is that I am a mum to two young children; a daughter Millie and son, Ted.
As a parent having already researched an awful lot of nurseries for my daughter, and found one that I loved (the very first Banana Moon!) I had a firm idea of what I was looking to achieve when I opened my own nursery. I wanted a loving, caring, educational and fun environment for children, and importantly, a nursery that was at the heart of its community.
I spent over a year looking for the right space for the nursery, and were thrilled when I secured this building. I was lucky to be able to approach the design with a blank sheet of paper, meaning every element of the nursery has been thought through by me, from a parent point of view, and the children. The physics of the nursery structure are only part of the story however. For me, far more important is striking the right atmosphere; one of love and inspiration.
With the emphasis at Banana Moon to see everything from a child’s point of view; every stage of your child’s development, quality of care and learning will be to the highest standards. It is with this in mind that I have recruited an extremely experienced and well qualified team, all of whom are extremely passionate about working with children.
I well remember the emotional rollercoaster that I went through when I first looked for a nursery for my daughter. Everything I do at the nursery is in light of my experience as a parent, and most importantly the nursery has to be of the highest standard that I am happy enough for both of my children to attend.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I have worked in childcare for 21 years, covering a wide range of roles and positions in establishments such as private schools, day nurseries and as a private nanny. I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse into senior positions before taking on management roles. The roles I have taken have helped shape my experiences and given me a wealth of knowledge which I share with my staff team, helping and supporting best practice.
To further extend my knowledge I undertook my degree in Early Childhood Studies with the Open University, qualifying in 2013. This has led me to understand and lead on a wide range of pedagogical approaches and support, not just the children in my care, but also my staff. I am extremely passionate and committed in my role as a practitioner and Manager and I aim to lead by example to give all children the best start in life alongside mentoring and supporting my team.

Outside of work I love cooking and listening to music, but my biggest passion is reading. I can get lost for hours in a good book......any recommendations welcome!!
