Banana Moon Day Nursery Harbury is a thriving, village based, family owned nursery, that prides itself at being at the heart of this exceptional village community.

In a caring and loving environment, children experience a wide range of learning initiatives, including messy and sensory play, with a strong focus on interacting with the outside world. The approach is to closely respond to children's interests, which has seen the arrival of a full size fork lift truck as part of a construction project, and the teaching of pizza making and basic Italian lessons as part of a multi-cultural project.

The passionate, experienced and caring team provides a safe and loving environment for children aged three months to five years. There are three rooms - under two's, toddlers and preschool. The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year, offering full day and half day sessions (7.30-1 or 1-6.30)

CCTV is installed in all rooms and operate a biometric finger print entry system, ensuring the safety of the children. The nursery offers two home-cooked hot meals each day.

One of my sons is currently at Banana Moon and the other was there until starting school last September. Both started at the nursery within a month of it opening. This was a very frightening leap of faith for us. We moved our eldest from a different nursery, where he was happy, so that he would be in
our village and make friends he would go to school with. For our youngest this was his first experience away from home. I am delighted, and enormously relieved, to say that we haven't had any regrets. The team at Banana Moon are fantastic and the atmosphere they create is welcoming, nurturing, fun and safe.


Both of our boys have been happy to be left at Banana Moon on a morning and are happy, and usually engrossed in a task or game, when we return. They talk about the staff as much as they talk about their friends, and have formed really great bonds. There is always a great variety of activities, healthy meals and plenty of time spent running around and exploring outdoors. The nursery has also made an effort to be involved in the village, for example getting the kids in the carnival parade. They also prepare the older children for school really well.


Despite our best efforts to be entertaining our eldest often complained that 'Nana Moon' wasn't open at the weekend! Now that is a good endorsement :)

I had a huge problem, trying to find a nursery in Warwickshire, which offered long hours, home made meals and high security.
Harbury has all of these requirements, in addition they do not serve processed foods. Initially the nursery did a few settling in sessions, my daughter could not wait to start,
she now asks to go in at weekends, as she is so happy at this nursery. Always welcomed by staff, my daughter is clearly comfortable in approaching the staff with any needs, she loves the meals; and there is always a selection of activities each day, including outdoor activities. Her speech, manners and organisational skills have improved immensely, since starting nursery.
On collection, I am given a breakdown of activities, food, nappy changes, nap time and any concerns. There is always a senior member of staff/management on shift, regular news letters and diary of events are e-mailed. I feel very reassured leaving her in there care; my daughter has attended 'Banana Moon Harbury', for approximately six months.

Absolute gems at Banana Moon, recently moved to this nursery and she is ever so happy. We are very pleased with her transition to Banana Moon as we were anxious she would not settle after being at her other nursery for so long. No tears and loves going in the morning with lots of smiles and that is
a fantastic reflection of the girls hard work and caring nature and patience. Lovely atmosphere very welcoming and staff very approachable. Happy parents, even happier toddler xx

The first thing for you to know is that I am a mum to two young children; a daughter Millie and son, Ted.
As a parent having already researched an awful lot of nurseries for my daughter, and found one that I loved (the very first Banana Moon!) I had a firm idea of what I was looking to achieve when I opened my own nursery. I wanted a loving, caring, educational and fun environment for children, and importantly, a nursery that was at the heart of its community.
I spent over a year looking for the right space for the nursery, and were thrilled when I secured this building. I was lucky to be able to approach the design with a blank sheet of paper, meaning every element of the nursery has been thought through by me, from a parent point of view, and the children. The physics of the nursery structure are only part of the story however. For me, far more important is striking the right atmosphere; one of love and inspiration.
With the emphasis at Banana Moon to see everything from a child’s point of view; every stage of your child’s development, quality of care and learning will be to the highest standards. It is with this in mind that I have recruited an extremely experienced and well qualified team, all of whom are extremely passionate about working with children.
I well remember the emotional rollercoaster that I went through when I first looked for a nursery for my daughter. Everything I do at the nursery is in light of my experience as a parent, and most importantly the nursery has to be of the highest standard that I am happy enough for both of my children to attend.

I have worked in childcare for 21 years, covering a wide range of roles and positions in establishments such as private schools, day nurseries and as a private nanny. I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse into senior positions before taking on management roles. The roles I have taken have helped shape my experiences and given me a wealth of knowledge which I share with my staff team, helping and supporting best practice.
To further extend my knowledge I undertook my degree in Early Childhood Studies with the Open University, qualifying in 2013. This has led me to understand and lead on a wide range of pedagogical approaches and support, not just the children in my care, but also my staff. I am extremely passionate and committed in my role as a practitioner and Manager and I aim to lead by example to give all children the best start in life alongside mentoring and supporting my team.
My goal is to create a setting that cares for and nurtures children, parents and staff. My door is always open for everyone.
Outside of work I love cooking and listening to music, but my biggest passion is reading. I can get lost for hours in a good book......any recommendations welcome!!
