The setting constantly strives to change to the adapting needs of families. Recently, they have introduced Nature Nursery sessions in local Forestry Commission maintained woodland and a vegan menu to run alongside the usual menu of freshly cooked, wholesome meals.

My little boy loves coming here every day. The staff are fantastic and always welcome him with a big smile. He absolutely loves the garden which is what drew us to this particular setting. It always feels like home from home.
The food is amazing, he eats better than we do! Such a good varied menu,
that gives children the opportunity to try new and wonderful flavours.

An absolutely amazing setting.
Every day our son comes home excited to tell me about his time with his key worker and friends.
His development has been outstanding and his ability to process his feelings and discuss with the setting adults is lovely to see.
A special thank you always to his key worker,
our son adores her so much and if we are ever, on a rare day having trouble getting him away from his toys and out the door, a mention of her and he excitedly runs for the door.
The updates from the rooms are fantastic and the varied menu and group eating takes away the stress of providing a varied meal at the end of the day every day and we couldn't ask for more.

My daughter and I love this nursery, the staff and management are always helpful and kind. They have loads of experience and skills in how to develop and take care of children from a very young age. We really appreciate their hard work and many thanks to them for what they're doing every day.

Our daughter has been attending Woodberry Sholing Nursery for almost a year now, she was 11-months-old when she started. Since day one, the nursery team has been supportive and professional; after a few warming-up sessions with our baby, a key worker was assigned to take care of her for the first months
so that she can form a special relationship and feel secure. Through the months the team helped her develop into a confident and loving child who is excited to go to play with her friends and learn new skills. The nursery's meal plan (varied, healthy and cooked on-site) and environment (homely and clean) were the key factors to choosing that setting. The range of activities for the children is impressive and focused on exploration and natural stimulation. We are very happy with the professionalism and care of Woodberry's staff especially given the challenges related to Covid-19 and thankful to the whole team for their hard work, guidance and genuine affection towards our child.

My son has been with Woodberry Day Nursery - Sholing since October 2020.
When we started, the team were extremely accommodating given the status of the pandemic at the time. We were able to view the setting in a safe manner and talk to his key person about his needs.
Throughout the time he has been
there, we have received regular updates on his activities via the app, including Early Years Foundation Stage observations and photos. The app has also allowed us to keep up to date with changing regulations, update any of our own changes as necessary and interact with the staff and other parents to an extent.
Implementations such as a virtual doorbell and masks at the door have helped us feel safe and while we have a quick update at handover, we're given opportunities to meet with the setting should we desire.
Our son is happy and healthy here and his development is noticeable.

My son absolutely adores his time at nursery. He gets to do so many activities and he loves the staff and other children so much. He eats better than I do when he's there! We get loads of updates every time he's at nursery and that helps with him being away all day.

Both our son and daughter have and do attend Woodberry and we could not be happier with how staff have nurtured their development and shown genuine care for us as a family.
Our daughter's speech was delayed due to lockdowns and shielding. As soon as she started at nursery she came on leaps and bounds
in all areas and has since been discharged from speech therapy as the therapist says she is exactly where she needs to be for her age now. We can’t thank the nursery staff enough for this.
We feel the way Covid has been handled at the setting has been reassuring and communication around this has been very clear at all times.

Lovely place where staff go above and beyond to support children in their care. They have a lovely garden with loads of outdoor fun. As a mother, I felt listened to by the staff and my son says that they are ‘very kind’ and ‘really very happy’. They identify specific interests which the child has and
encourage them to follow their interests. I’m so grateful for the observations which they make on each kid on their app, which makes us feel that they are treated as individuals. To the team at Woodberry, thank you loads for your hard work.

Thanks to the staff at Woodberry Day Nursery, we have been seeing improvements in the way that our daughter interacts with others, communicates and likes to get involved with being creative and helpful at home. The staff always give us a helpful update on our daughter's day and the use of the app keeps
us informed of her nutrition. The staff take a genuine interest in our daughter's needs and likes/dislikes, which gives us great peace of mind and means she looks forward to her days here! It also makes us comfortable knowing there are clear channels to communicate with the staff and management if we ever need to speak to them.

My son has settled in so quickly and easily at Woodberry. The staff have clearly made him feel safe and happy. They have a brilliant range of toys (indoor and outdoor). They have helped my son to eat a wider range of food than he would ever entertain at home in a short amount of time and he’s got so
much more confidence around other children.
The staff are always really helpful and lovely, could not fault them in any way.

My son has attended Woodberry since he was 7 months old and has just turned 3. He is excited to go to nursery every single day and see his friends and the staff members in the grasshopper room. He always talks to us about what he is going to play with and shares his experiences of his day when he gets
home which is lovely to hear. He enjoys a wide range of different healthy balanced meals which has helped with his eating at home. The staff are brilliant and so caring and have helped his confidence grow and encouraged his learning. We can’t thank them enough for everything they do for our son.

My daughter attends this nursery and loves it! She comes home every day exhausted! The nursery sends me a notification with photos showing me what my daughter has been up to during the day, which is great! She has a huge variety of food and will now eat absolutely anything! The staff are very caring
and will help out however they can!

We have used Woodberry Day Nursery for all three of our children. Our eldest son was there from 2010, our youngest son from 2012 and our daughter from 2020. We knew we wanted our daughter to attend Woodberry as our sons had such a great time there. Everyone is so caring and professional. The standards
are very high and the amount our boys learnt throughout their time there helped set them up for school so well.
Our daughter has so much fun but is learning new things every time she is there. She makes friends and has so much to tell us when we pick her up. I would absolutely recommend Woodberry Day Nursery.

Staff are caring and thoughtful and take time to get to know your child. Excellent outside area is really lovely now and our daughter really enjoys going in. The parent app helps keep up to date with what she is up to and what she has eaten.

My oldest son has been attending since he was 3 months and has always loved it. The care shown to him and us from the team has been excellent. When we were due our second child, it was not even a question that he would attend Sholing. The team are always thinking of different things to stimulate and
encourage children to learn. The outdoor space is excellent. The setting is like a home from home. Would highly recommend.

We chose Woodberry because the nursery draws on Montessori and Forest School pedagogical approaches. We kept her there because the pedagogical approaches aren't mere attractive words, they are in fact important strategies that the staff strive to implement. Concretely, this means that my 2.5 year old
daughter has become a very self-confident/independent little person, who loves going to the nursery. She even woke up at 3am all excited the day before she resumed nursery after a week off during the Christmas holiday. Besides, the nursery takes a holistic approach to support the children. This means understanding the needs of the family and not just the needs of the child. The nursery addressed many issues we had - often at short notice. This was possible because of the new application they introduced: it enabled SUPER quick communication with the nursery during urgent times. In my humble opinion, the nursery ticks all the boxes.

We’ve used this nursery over the last four years for first my daughter and then my son. Both children have loved their time at nursery and have formed genuine attachments to the staff and key workers. We are always kept informed of their progression and milestones even with parents not being able to
access the nursery due to covid. We have found all the staff to be friendly and caring, and I would highly recommend the nursery.

Both of our children have attended this setting, with our younger currently in preschool there. We are so delighted with the experience we have had over the years and whilst there have been some staff changes this has not impacted the experience or care our children have received. The nursery has a
real personal family feel and the love and care for the children is evident in how happy our children have been. Our youngest quite often cried leaving nursery as he is having too much fun so that in itself tells you how good it is rated. We have never experienced any issues and if there were, we are confident the staff would deal with it promptly. The approach to COVID and precautions have been brilliant and reassuring and the use of the app to communicate real-time messages is an added bonus.

Becky started with us in February 2019, she has worked her way up and is now our manager for Sholing. Becky supports the staff in their development alongside the quality and development of the setting. Becky's passion is for supporting all children and staff to achieve their goals and for children to have the opportunity to learn in a creative and fun environment.

Zoe Becket

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Zoe has been with the setting since July 2019. She is the setting Deputy Manager and Preschool Room Lead. Zoe is passionate about supporting the children to strive and develop to the best of their ability for their transition to school. Zoe supports the setting alongside Becky to support staff in their professional development and growth.
