Lovely nursery with lovely staff that take wonderful care of our children. They do an amazing job of getting the kids ready for year R too. They're a really community-minded setting too which is so lovely to see.

To say myself and my daughter were sad when it came to the end of our time at Oaklea House Day Nursery would be an understatement! The setting, staff, overall routine, and care and learning given are impeccable and my only upset would be my eldest daughter never got to experience her preschool days
here and my youngest did not attend long enough! In the period my youngest attended here, the once very shy and timid girl became a confident, super happy little girl, very prepped and ready for school.
I recommend to all this nursery, as I'd love for all families to experience the same.
Thank you Oaklea House Day Nursery.

We visited four nurseries in the area, and although we were accepted in another nursery that had an 'outstanding' status, we decided to choose Oaklea. The reason for our choice was we were extremely impressed by the overall standard of staff, the communication they had with the children, the structure
the team instilled, and how the children were so confident in themselves and how chatty they were. This was witnessed during our visit when we were selecting nurseries.
We were not wrong in our choice. Oaklea has bought out the best in our daughter. A girl who wasn't very outspoken or confident is now the complete opposite. The Oaklea team really get to know the children as individuals and tailor their growth plan and care to their individual needs. Despite a large intake of children, I commend the team for their patience in achieving this.
Our daughter will leave Oaklea this summer, and I know she will miss the team greatly. The preschool team have prepped her ready for the next step.

Where to start!

As a single dad, the team at Oaklea House Day Nursery have been absolutely phenomenal during my daughters time here. Not only working with me but guiding me through some of the more challenging behaviours during these precious early years.

Their thoughtfulness and attention to

detail in embracing seasons, celebrations and holidays showed years of experience. Their birthday and graduation packs have brought a few tears!

I'm hoping as my daughter makes the leap to 'big school' that we feel as well supported and cared for as we have become accustomed to at Oaklea's.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Oaklea's; you're providing an excellent service!

Professional, conduct and friendly teachers. I surely had trust in leaving my child without fear, knowing that he was in good hands. The school does have respect for parents and has no bias towards racism. They treated everyone the same despite differences.

My daughter has thrived since joining Oaklea a year ago. She has grown in confidence, learnt so much and loves playing with all her new friends.
Special thanks to the toddler and baby team, who have been nothing but friendly, supportive and loving to my daughter.

Lovely nursery with warm and friendly staff.

My little boy is kept busy every day with activities and found it easy to settle in and feel comfortable.

Every day, a member of the team comes out to tell you what the children have been doing/what they've eaten etc, and are very informative. The

food that is given is healthy and nutritious, and they have a 5-star rating for hygiene!

Most of all, I feel like the staff all love my little boy as much as I do, and they care/look after him, making us feel comfortable to leave him knowing he is safe, well looked after and having lots of fun!

My son joined Oaklea in early 2021. I looked into other nurseries but had a great feeling about this one and had only heard great things.

I was worried about my son joining a nursery after being with his close family all of the time during the lockdown. I didn’t need to worry, the staff were excellent,

and my son absolutely loves going.

The staff are just brilliant, better than I could have asked for. The food they provide is excellent, they also take on board any development areas you wish to focus on for your child.

All I can say, my son loves it, and I have peace of mind knowing what a great place it is for him.

My son has been at Oaklea House Day Nursery part-time since he was 3-months-old; he is now coming up to his 5th birthday and moving on to school. I cannot thank the nursery enough for the nurture, care and great fun they have provided for him. He has always been so comfortable and happy at Oaklea, and
as he has got older, he can't wait for his nursery days and to get dressed in the morning and go in. I love hearing him talk about the staff he adores and the friends he has made. He has learnt so much, he is confident with his numbers, his letters and being kind to others; he is really prepared for school!

I want to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all of the staff that have worked with him. He is a happy, confident, full of life little boy, and that is a credit to all of their work and care for him.

I also want to thank the catering team as he has really enjoyed his food at nursery and eats such a variety of food due to the menu they provide.

Thank you, from a very grateful Mum!

My daughter is always very happy when we arrive at Oaklea House Day Nursery and gets excited seeing her friends and the staff. The staff are fantastic and build great relationships with the children, treating them all as individuals and getting to know them well. The food menu is varied and we can view
the menu in advance. The outside space is well maintained and the children spend a lot of time playing outside which my daughter loves. They do a lot of activities, such as art, reading, sensory play, dressing up, dancing and learning. They have helped my daughter massively with potty training also.

Parking during peak times can be problematic as they have a small car park that doesn't have designated spaces.

Our daughter has been in the care of Oaklea since 1year old. She has always come home very happy, telling us what she has been up to during the day.
The level of communication from the staff is top notch.
Our daughter is a very confident young lady, able to express herself very well, with a level
of key skills. She will be able to move onto her new school with no problem.
Thank you Oaklea.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.317)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.317) out of 10 for Oaklea House Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for Oaklea House Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oaklea House Day Nursery is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.15

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
