Providing quality care since 1970, Jack and Jill Day Nursery is open year-round, welcoming children aged from 3 months to 5 years. Jack and Jill is a happy and caring nursery where children can flourish. By providing a positive environment with lots of engaging activities, Jack and Jill ensures that every child is happy, confident and bursting with enthusiasm; ready to take on the challenges of school life and a whole new world of learning.

Jack and Jill is located in the centre of Corfe Mullen village, just 1 mile from Broadstone and 3 miles from Wimborne and Upton. There is a carpark for drop-off and collection. The nursery was recently refurbished and is light, bright and spacious. The nursery has dedicated rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Outdoor play and learning are particularly important at Jack and Jill and the children go outside as much as possible, whatever the weather! There are 2 gardens, playgrounds and all the children have free flow access outdoors. Both gardens offer a fantastic range of activities including digging and planting, mud kitchen, water station, sand pits, story corner, and lots of physical activities to help with their co-ordination and development such as balancing beams, trikes and ball games.

The Nursery also has a pet guinea pig (Pickles) to teach the children about caring for animals.

SEN is extremely important at Jack and Jill and the staff and SENCO are highly trained in recognising and supporting many different emerging needs. Each child is treated as an individual and will have a personal plan ensuring their unique needs are being met and allowing them to develop at their own pace.

The staff at Jack and Jill are caring, passionate and well-qualified (including paediatric first aid for all staff members). They'd love to invite you to come and look around!

    Our FULL-TIME rate for non-funded children is £6.85 per hour (minimum 4 full-days per week).
    Our FULL-DAY rate for non-funded children is £7.30 per hour.
    All other sessions are charged at £7.90 per hour.
    A consumables charge applies to funded hours.

My eldest daughter was at Jack and Jill's and she was so happy there, it was a no-brainer to send our youngest too. Jack and Jill's are fantastic at understanding your child's needs and all staff are so friendly and supportive. Both my girls have benefited hugely and have gained confidence by socialising
with other children and it's certainly helped by preparing them for school, whilst having fun! They do so many activities both indoors and outdoors and have wonderful facilities. We were lucky enough to have the chance to take part in the carnival this year on their float, and it was incredible. All staff, children, and parents had a fabulous day.

I chose Jack & Jill's as the nursery was close to my place of work. I was so lucky to find such a lovely nursery for my daughter. The staff are all brilliant in their own way and truly enjoy being around the children. My daughter has been here for almost 3 years and has enjoyed it. They have set her
up so well for school too. The managers are brilliant with communication and all the staff is friendly, approachable and you can tell the kids love them. I will always recommend Jack & Jill's.

Both of my children attend Jack and Jill’s and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. They are so well loved and looked after. They always leave with a smile on their face and have always done something exciting. We moved away from the area but make the effort to commute there because we couldn’t
imagine them being anywhere near as happy anywhere else.

Cannot express how amazing all the staff are and how accommodating they are for my son. The progress he has made since being there is just amazing and he has become so happy being there. He loves all the outside play and all the arts and crafts they do.

My daughter has been attending Jack and Jill for over a year and she settled very quickly with all of the staff who look after her. Staff are hardworking and friendly and give updates on her day at the door and always good, efficient communication using their online tool. They have got to know her really
well and she looks forward to going. They open from 8 am which helps with our work routine and easy drop/off collection in their car park. It’s helpful that they also provide snacks in between meals as she loves to get food. She also enjoys the messy play and craft activities as well as exploring their large outdoor spaces, several garden areas etc. The nursery also runs community-type events such as clothes swap and book library which is a nice touch.

Our son has been at Jack and Jill since he was 9 months old (he is now 2.5). They are a fantastic nursery. The staff are so warm and friendly and I always feel that they truly care for our son and each individual child. They have loads of great activities every day and our son loves his time there,
he is always happy to go in and has made some lovely friends.
I would highly recommend this nursery if you are looking for a nurturing, warm, loving and safe environment for your child.

My son has attended Jack and Jill's Nursery for over 1.5 years. The staff have been so flexible, accommodating and supportive including day changes, start dates, sickness, accommodating the changing needs of my son, and answering my queries and concerns in a supportive and professional manner.
We love
how the staff are so engaging with the children and genuinely enjoy spending time with them
The facilities are well maintained.
They encourage a range of activities with the children, and I enjoy getting regular updates on what the children have been up to. I also like how the children in the different age groups are encouraged to socialise too.
My little boy obviously learns a lot because his range of vocabulary is amazing - I am often shocked by what he comes out with.
One improvement I would really like is for the children to go out into the community a little more ie walking to the shops, or visiting certain places however I do appreciate this may not be an easy thing to do!

We have had two children at Jack and Jill’s. Our first son was 9 months old through to starting primary school and our second son is still there. We really love the nurturing environment there, the staff led by managemnt really care. We’ve found it reassuring the staff seem to be well settled and this
gives continuity. Also, the activities seem well structured and we feel our little ones learn a lot from nursery. More than we originally expected. No hesitation in recommending it.

My 3-year-old son has been attending Jack and Jill since he was around 11 months old. They create a fantastic environment for developing the children’s social skills, and learning skills appropriate for their age- through fun play they all enjoy. The team are friendly, and enthusiastic and develop fantastic
relationships with families. They use the app to update families on progress through the day - which I found particularly helpful when my son was younger, having milk/in nappies/ having naps.
They give frequent progress reports over time so you know how they have been developing in the setting.

Both my boys attend Jack and Jills, one is a full day with half days thrown in and the younger is a couple of half days. I cannot speak highly enough about the team and facilities there. Amazingly attentive and informative as well as helpful in all regards. The boys love going there.

My son has been at Jack and Jill nursery for 6 months. His sister went there from 8 months up to school age. The staff are amazing across the setting. Kind, enthusiastic, energetic and engaging. They truly help build the forming years of children’s lives. My son loves it. He gets excited as we pull
into the road!
Management is fantastic. Supportive and understanding, as well as doing the most they can to help if additional nursery slots are needed. Most importantly, they’re heavily involved with the children and are loved just as much as the other staff.
Activities are fun and innovative, to the point where we’d love to go to Jack and Jill to do some of the things the kids do! You also wouldn’t know the next day that there’d been messy play the day before, it’s always immaculate.
Can’t recommend this childcare setting enough. Despite my daughter not going there for the last 2 years, she still gets greeted with a hug and the staff all want to know how she is doing at school.

My little one attends Jack and Jill Day Nursery twice a week and they have been brilliant at welcoming him and accommodating to his needs.
We get a report each term, the family app for daily updates, opportunities for parent's evenings and they keep track of progress in an individual child planner.

I am so glad that I chose Jack and Jill Day Nursery for my son's first experience in an educational setting. He joined when he was three and was there for almost a year and enjoyed going every day. All the staff are lovely, and they got to know him really well. Nothing was too much trouble, and they

Our little boy started at Jack & Jill Day Nursery in April 2022 when he was 10 months old, and understandably, a scary time for us as parents, but the staff were so welcoming and facilitating! We had various settle sessions and really got to know the staff! They have continued to be so caring, kind
and accommodating of our baby's needs (as well as ours). Our little guy always comes home suitably tired from days full of fun, which we love. The staff follow our routine as much as possible to provide that real home-from-home experience. The baby space is warm and welcoming! The next room also looks very exciting for when that time comes! Communication between parents and the staff is made easy via a parent app, and I always feel able to ask for updates throughout the day! We viewed a lot of childcare facilities when searching for the right one, and as soon as we viewed Jack and Jill, we knew, instantly, it was the right one! Thank you for taking good care of our son!

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie Carter

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 1998

Anne-Marie started at Jack and Jill Preschool in 1998 and took over as manager in 2005. She has done extensive training during her years at Jack and Jill Day Nursery gaining her level 3 and then continuing on to get her Foundation degree in Early Years Education, her BA(Hons) degree in Early Years Care and Education and then continuing on to Early Years Professional Status. Anne-Marie left a long career in Electrical Engineering to come and heat up Hot Cross Buns one day with her children and has been here ever since!


Anne-Marie is committed to providing quality care and education to all children and is valued by staff, children and parents. She has also completed a Level 2 Mental Health First Aider course, to support the well-being of the practitioners and the mental health of the setting.


Outside work Anne-Marie likes to travel, read, go walking and meet up with friends and family.


Sally

Sally Jameson

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2006

Sally started at Jack and Jill Preschool in 2006, shortly after her second child started at the nursery. Sally had previously worked in hotels and as a chef when she had decided the time was right to have a big change!


She loved working with the children and became interested in helping children with more complex needs, deciding to do lots of training around Special Educational Needs and eventually took over as the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator for the setting.


Sally took over as the Deputy Manager in 2015 and continues to champion children with Special Educational Needs becoming Dorset Inclusion Champion in 2018.


In her spare time, Sally enjoys Driving, Reading, walking and being with her family.

Candice Miller

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Ducklings Practitioner)

Candice Miller has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since January 2018, she completed her level 2 qualification with us in that year and currently works in our baby room.

Victoria Wainwright

Victoria has been working for Jack and Jill Nursery for 7 years. She was the first apprentice that Jack

Sarah Paterson has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since 2017, prior to this she worked in a local school as a Primary Teacher. Sarah currently works with the children in the preschool room. Sarah is also our Maths Champion, she ensures that maths: numbers, shapes and measurements are celebrated throughout the nursery.


This may be through activities or ensuring that maths is used in the environment in general.


She is married with three children who attended Jack and Jill’s and when she is not working she enjoys spending time with them, reading books and walking with her dog.


Lauren

Lauren Young

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Hedgehogs Practitioner)

Joined: 2018

Lauren Young has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery for five years. She is a Level 2 practitioner, currently working towards completing her Level 3 qualification. Lauren enjoys the creative side of her job, she is looking at the environmental impact of the nursery and how we can reduce our use of single-use plastics.


Outside of work, Lauren enjoys scrapbooking, jewellery making and writing fiction stories!

Beth Jameson

Job Title: Ducklings Room Leader

Joined: 2019

Beth Jameson has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since 2019. Although it feels longer she spent many staff training days here when she was younger, reading to the children and drawing pictures for them.


Beth has just completed her Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) and is the Ducklings room leader.


In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She has recently been enjoying a variety of sports including badminton and golf.

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Hedgehogs Practitioner)

Beth Hand has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since October 2020, she completed her Level 3 Apprenticeship with the nursery in March 2022.


She is currently working in the Hedgehogs room supporting the older children, but she has worked with each age group as part of her apprenticeship.


When she is not at work Beth loves to spend time with family and friends and travel to new places. Before joining Jack and Jill Nursery, she spent time in South-East Asia and Australia. In addition, she enjoys all Water Sports such as paddle boarding
