The running of the nursery has improved in the last year after a very difficult start and a lot of changes in personnel.
Food quality it is still below standard however, it is a huge improvement from what it used to be.
The teachers/nurses at the room are very professional and dedicated individuals
who care and look after the children at a very high standard.

It’s a great purpose built building, great outdoor space, friendly, welcoming staff, very happy to leave the children into Pre-School when I take care of them. Jam packed with great activities and extracurriculars such as Spanish, cooking and learning at home bags.

We have been using Oak Lane Day Nursery for the last 8 months and are extremely happy with the great level of care and attention that is given to our daughter. She loves going to nursery and is developing extremely well, we would not hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone thinking of putting their
child in daycare. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They always seem to be doing interesting activities and ways of engaging the children.

The team at Oak Lane Day Nursery have been amazing - our daughter absolutely loves going into nursery and is often reluctant to leave! The variety of activities and methods of learning is extremely broad, encompassing reading, role play, cooking, gardening, languages, exercise to name a few! Any child
is likely to find ways to flourish here given what is available. Highly recommended, we couldn't be happier!

My son started at Oak Lane in January 18 and I have nothing but praise for the staff, the environment and the care they deliver.

He settled really quickly which I feel is due to the staff's engagement with him and has clearly bonded with several of the team. The activities are varied and they ensure

all children join in. The parent communication is great; they're very willing to spend time to ensure the care is as expected and evolves as the child grows.

One huge plus point for me is the outdoor space. The rooms have a courtyard style garden which is completely enclosed and therefore feels very safe for the children.

If I could pick one area for improvement it would be the daily paper forms for activities, it feels a bit dated compared to some of the apps that are available now. A digital communications package for parents would be a step forward in my opinion. However, that's a minor thing compared to the comfort and confidence I have in leaving my son with Oak Lane every day.

The nursery has exceeded our expectations. As this was our first child we were very nervous about leaving her at the nursery, but, they have taken great care to make sure that we felt reassured and that the little one felt safe and happy.

I viewed several nursery sites when choosing a place for my daughter and Oak Lane was by far the best balance of professionalism and welcoming. I was particularly taken in by the happy children, the friendly staff and the facilities.

My daughter did some valuable settling in days and it was comforting

to know she was building up relationships with her key buddy right from the start.

Now 5 months in my daughter loves nursery and adores the staff. She eats well, does super activities loving the messy play and cooking in particular. She is always happy and content when I collect her. The daily updates from the staff are also really useful. Further, she is confident and sociable.

I am very happy and confident in this nursery.

We have had our son at the nursery for almost a year and can only say we have had a very positive experience. Nursery facilities are very new and well maintained, also well situated for access to Twickenham Station. The best part of the nursery is the kind and helpful staff and great food. We can't
fault the nursery and our son is very happy there also.

My 3-year-old son moved from another Bright Horizons nursery to Oak Lane. He loved every second he was there since he was 1 years old. Naturally, we were worried he might struggle to integrate, and sure it took a week or two but after that, he loves Oak Lane! Since then he's flourished, his confidence,
talking and ability to express himself have all improved. I put this down to the amazing staff and facilities at Oak Lane. The staff are very accommodating and empathetic to all situations, the relationship between staff, parents and children is very good.

We were first attracted to Oak Lane Nursery by the lovely outdoor spaces and purpose-built, modern facilities. After meeting the staff, we felt welcomed, reassured we were getting excellent care and were impressed by the variety of activities and curriculum in place for toddlers/preschool age. The
management team go above the norm, offering the kids some great activities like tennis, baking, Spanish and my daughter just loves these days.

My baby loves going to nursery every day. We have just had the 6-month review which we found most helpful. My baby is content and learning a lot and during the review, I learnt a great deal about the developmental stages, what to focus on and how she is progressing against her milestones. Thank you.

As new parents, faced with choosing a nursery for the first time, we didn’t quite know what we were looking for in a nursery, beyond somewhere where we warmed to the staff and got a good feeling about the company.

One of the things that immediately struck us about Oak Lane was the benefit of it being

in a purpose-built building - there are wide corridors, spacious rooms, with everything on the same level and all-weather access to lovely, secure, outdoor space for the children.

The staff (both management and carers) are warm and welcoming, showing genuine investment and care in our son.

Our son has attended this nursery for a few months now and has settled very well into the routine. He smiles when he arrives and this is lovely for us to see.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oak Lane.

This nursery has been fantastic for our son. He is very happy there and really loves all the staff. The food and activities are really good, and the management team are friendly and approachable.

With the building being new and purpose-built, the facilities are fantastic, especially with a separate

garden for each age group.

My son has been attending Oak Lane since it opened, and it has become a home-from-home. The attentiveness of the staff and consideration towards his personal needs are excellent.

The manageress and staff do an incredible job to run the Nursery, and I feel that my son is very safe in their care.

The mix of outdoor space with stimulating indoor activists are by far the best in the area.

Can not recommend it enough.

Our daughter joined Oak Lane Day Nursery when she was 11 months old and I am pleased to say that we've been delighted with the care given over the last 6 months. The environment benefits from being custom-built as a nursery, so everything is safe and cheerful and spacious - and perfectly suited to small
children, including cosy areas for napping and cuddling. The food is good and the kids get up to all sorts of activities each day, including books, construction, music, messy play and outdoor fun. Our daughter took a shine to her lead carer straight away and when we collect her at the end of a long day, we usually find her playing away happily or being cuddled by a team member.

Oak Lane is a fantastic nursery. Of course, it's brand new and purpose built so the environment and facilities are first rate but for us, what really made us and our daughter love the nursery was the wonderful staff. They are, without exception, kind, caring, supportive and focused on the children.
Our daughter is thriving under their care. She sings on the way to nursery and is always happy and content when I pick her up, full of the lovely times she's had. We couldn't be happier and are very grateful to the team.

This is a truly outstanding nursery, with excellent resources, professional staff and a flawless purpose built environment. I moved my son from another local nursery to this one, as the standard was much higher. Having looked at all nurseries in the area, I can honestly say it is by far the best.

The

local manager, is very experienced and gives you complete confidence that your child is in safe hands. She has recruited a fantastic team around her too - everyone at this nursery is helpful, well trained and welcoming.

I like the balance between my child learning, but also having fun - they get this just right.

My son always eats the food, and sleeps well, but most important of all - has not been as unwell as he was in the previous nursery. I think largely to it having a nice outdoor space and higher hygiene standards.

There is good parking for parents too.

Highly recommend it.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.883)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.883) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Oak Lane Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.690 for Bright Horizons Oak Lane Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.69

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.193 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Oak Lane Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 number of registered child places is 14.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.2 = 0.493

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hi I am Sandra, I'm the Nursery manager.

I gained my NNEB in 1998 and started working for Bright Horizons in 2001 as a Nursery Nurse. Since then I have worked in a number of different settings throughout London and the South East, and have gained lots of valuable experience. I became Manager of Oak Lane January 2017, and am very proud to lead the team to provide care and education for children in such a new and well-resourced setting.

I pride myself on establishing strong partnerships with parents to ensure the nursery meets their needs and is reflective of our local community. It is a privilege to be able to work with our future generation and I am passionate about providing as many opportunities for our children to be the prime educators in their own learning.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I started out my career over 20 years ago as a qualified Nursery Nurse. I have a broad range of experience having worked within a variety of settings from working with children in hospitals and care homes to working in a Sure Start centre. This has given me the opportunity to focus on child development and individual care at a much deeper level as well as focus on child education.

My passion for child development and education grew, which led me to become a Nursery Nurse within a private nursery school. I enjoyed the challenges, rewards and opportunities for growth. I have since been working within a nursery and preschool setting, developing experiences and my passion to work with children.

Over the years, I worked my way up to Deputy Manager, working in a community and client based nursery in this position. I am very committed to my role and love the fact that each day brings something new. I am very excited about my new role as Deputy Manager for Oak Lane Nursery, to be a part of a new opening, new team and a part of the children’s new journeys.

I take pride in helping and encouraging the children grow in confidence and independence ready for their school life journey
