Chestnut Nursery School Arden House is situated within a converted Registry Office, and has a set of large, spacious rooms with high ceilings and plenty of natural light.

They offer childcare for children aged from 0-5 years old, between the hours of 8.00am – 6.00pm. They are very flexible in their childcare sessions, offering full-time and part-time care. The nursery also takes on children accessing the free 15 hour/11 hour educational grant.

There is a baby room, toddler room, and pre-school room within the nursery, and it has a number of links to the local community through the children's centre located within the setting. Arden House has a large outdoor area, within a safe, enclosed environment.

As with all Chestnut Nursery Schools it follows a forest school ethos as a part of its core curriculum, and so encourages learning and development through outdoor, nature-driven activities.

My little boy was having a bit of a grizzly time when we came to view the nursery, but thankfully the Nursery Manager, stepped in to save the day. The rapport she has so clearly built with all of the children is wondrous to see. She also knew exactly what to do with my little man to calm him down further.
She reassured me that all would be well and this is not an often occurrence, and I could see how happy other arrivals were when greeted by staff. Such a warm, kind and caring environment. We felt like royalty being shown around and it was so clear how the Nursery Manager loved and cared for not just the children but her staff team too, she clearly cares about her environment. Thank you!

Words cannot express the amount of love, support, and memories Arden House, Chestnut Nursery have given to my children past & present. From the very first week of settling in and to the last stages of transitioning to school, the staff and nursery manager have always made the experience comforting and
most importantly my child's welfare put first. Staff are well trained and friendly and always approachable. The setting is clean and tidy and my children have always thrived well at nursery. I wish I could keep them there forever.

Chestnut Nursery is an amazing nursery. Both my children attended this nursery from 7 months and has been their second home. The staff are so welcoming and kind. I would recommend this nursery to everyone. The manager is very understanding and tries her best to always keep everyone happy.

Arden House has been an incredible place for our children to learn and grow. My daughter was fortunate to have fantastic key workers during her time with the nursery. Kortni in particular has stood out as such an outstanding and nurturing member of staff. She has always taken the time to help our child
express herself, process her feelings, and explore her interests. We feel so incredibly grateful to have had Kortni play such a prominent role in our daughter's development as well as the fantastic wider team. All three of my children have gone to Arden House and I'll feel incredibly sad when we have to say goodbye for good. Highly recommend.

We have had an amazing time at Chestnut nursery. All the staff have been fantastic with the development of our daughter. She has made friends and thoroughly enjoys her time at the nursery. She has a very good relationship with all the staff and we have been very satisfied with the overall experience.
I was especially pleased with the safeguarding aspect of the nursery as they take real good care in ensuring that the right person is here to collect the child. I would recommend the nursery to family and friends.

Chestnut Nursery Arden House is an excellent nursery, both my children attend and have done so since they were 12 months old, the eldest is now 4, they have both settled well, and the staff were really supportive with the settling period for both of them, they have lots of fun playing and learning new
things and the staff make their days interesting with lots of activities. They love the garden and get to go outside as much as possible, weather permitting. The catering is also good and they cater to dietary requirements (we are vegan) with no problem. Overall would highly recommend this nursery. The only downside is the costs, it is very expensive unfortunately but I don't know how it compares in quality to other nurseries so it could be worth the extra when considering the amount of hours they're caring for your child if you work full time.

Chestnut Nursery School Arden House is a second home for my children and they have built positive relationships with all members of staff. We have always had great communication from the staff via various means such as emails, pick-up time, parents app, and posters in the windows. Both my children have

My 21 month old daughter attended Chestnut Nursery School @ Arden House (opposite Barking Park). I recently had to pull her out of this nursery due to an incident.
I suggest that anyone considering this nursery do their own due diligence. I would strongly advise the parents to consider other options.
They are aesthetically appealing and act like they care but I can confidently say from first hand experience that they do not prioritise children’s welfare.
The staff are inexperienced and lack safeguarding knowledge. They undertake unsafe play activities with children and my toddler has had a terrible experience because of this. The management do not have a clear understanding of the statutory Framework of Early Years and do not adhere to it. The managers do not supervise and monitor their nursery rooms regularly, thus staff are left to carry out unsafe practice.
The executive managers are also inexperienced and gate keep policies and procedures. I would not recommend this nursery at all.

I am forever grateful to the manager and the team at the Chestnut Nursery Arden house for taking extra care of my little one and empowering her to flourish.
My daughter was one year and one month when she started nursery, she couldn't walk or talk. Her first teacher in the baby room taught her the
sign language for 'more' and 'thank you' which was brilliant! In four months she started taking her first steps and her first word was 'ball'.
The settings of the nursery are spacious, and well equipped, a great environment to thrive. The garden and the rainforest are great assets for the little ones and their growth and their connection with nature.
Chestnut Nursery Arden House provides a safe and fun environment that enables all the children to be confident, creative, curious, caring and happy!
It gave me great peace of mind that my daughter is in the best and safe hands!

My son started when he was 9 months old, he is now 3. I work part-time. From the get-go, in terms of answering my queries and concerns, to settling him into nursery has been a very supportive transition. The team in each room are fantastic! Super supportive and the key workers really act as co-parents
to the child and this makes attending nursery easier. My son was a Covid baby and it was and has been a long task getting him settled but without the tenacity, support and care from the staff it would not be possible. The activities are varied every day, there are lots of themed days/events which make the nursery a fun learning environment. The lunch and tea menu looks like a fine dining experience. The staff are always polite and professional with students and parents. It looks and feels like a positive environment. The daily logs help inform parents about what their child has been up to alongside the verbal feedback each day. Love it!

The service has been amazing from start to finish. The nursery was accommodating to show rounds for me and my wife separately and the manager was excellent in putting all my parental anxieties to rest.
The staff in the baby room work hard to accommodate all my wife's requirements due to her OCD. Which
I am very grateful for.
The management are constantly in communication with us and the home learning is really helpful with supporting our daughter at home.

My name is Kim Pybus and I am Level 3 qualified in Childcare and Education. I have worked in childcare for over 24 years covering many different roles from nursery practitioner to third in charge and now Deputy. I thoroughly enjoy watching children develop a new skill and become independent whilst using that skill.


I have a daughter of my own and she is now in her 20s. I believe the skills experience and passion for working with children have played an integral role in both of our growth. I have now been working at Arden House for several years and find this extremely rewarding.
