Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.   

The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.

The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.   

To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.

The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.

Our experience with Little Tots Nursery has been nothing short of exceptional. My son has been attending for nearly 2.5 years, and he absolutely loves it. The nursery offers a well-structured and educational environment that emphasizes learning through play, which has been incredibly beneficial for
his development.


One of the standout features is the Forest School program, which provides children with unique outdoor learning experiences. This has not only fostered a love for nature in my son but also helped him develop important life skills.


As he prepares to start school this September, I am confident that the foundation laid by Little Tots Nursery will serve him well. Additionally, my younger child has recently joined the nursery, and I am excited to see his growth and development in such a nurturing environment.

Little tots nursery staff are like family and really care about the children. Always an upbeat and friendly environment and involvement with what the children do outside of nursery time. Our daughter's favourite thing has to be forest school, always the highlight of her week rain or shine. The way the
staff encourage learning and make it fun and interesting you can see how much the kids learn and the kids value the staff. Thank you to all the staff that work at little tots you really are shaping some amazing little legends.

I was recommended Little Tots from my friend and now I tell everyone how amazing it is there. The manager and her team are truly so dedicated and informative its a real relief to know my son is well looked after and having the best time. They give you weekly updates as to what the children get up to
which makes you feel involved in the nursery too. I cant thank them enough for being that safe place for my son and me.

My daughter has been attending Little Tots since she was 11 months old. I couldn't be happier with the care she received and feel that she is well prepared for school mentally and socially. The staff are incredibly caring and patient and have created a warm, welcoming amd stimulating environment where
my daughter feels safe and happy. She loves the nursery activities - Tappy toes sessions where she takes part in sensory and musical activities. Forest school every week, where kids connect with nature, learn species of animals and enjoy snacks and group time. Practicing yoga has had a massively positive effect in times of managing emotions and frustration. She learns so much every day and demonstrates in her behaviour that the nursery skilfully implements Montessori teaching. I've been amazed to see how much she's learned and grown since starting. I would highly recommend little Tots to any parent looking for a nurturing and educational nursery for their child.

I have not seen a more professional and lovely staff than at Little Tots. They truly love what they do and they are GOOD AT IT. They make you feel as they are on the parenting journey alongside you. They inspire curiosity and learning, as well as personal growth for every child. The children are thriving
there and learning so much. You know its an excellent nursery through the joy and satisfaction of the staff in what they do. My son comes home excited to tell of the day and the things he has done and learned.

My daughter began in the baby room in 2023 and transitioned to the main room in January 2025. The staff have been absolutely amazing - she adores them! Every day is filled with fun, and it's been wonderful to see her grow in confidence since she started. She arrives each day with a big smile, excited
for the adventures ahead, and that's all thanks to the incredible team. There is a never-ending array of activities offered to the children, ensuring there's never a dull moment in her day.

My two year old daughter has started at Little tots in Jan 2025 and absolutely loves it, she runs in every drop off waving at me as she goes in and I feel very content knowing she is well cared for and looked after with lots of different activities and outdoors in the fresh air too! I have been a using Little Tots nursery for nearing six years now. As I approach the final few months being part of the Little Tots family I am saddened to think I won't be visiting the nursery every day, it is a truly special place. Every member of staff is so caring and engaging. The children have
access to wonderful resources including quality Montessori equipment and woodland for their weekly Forrest School trips. They are very community minded and are often fundraising and teaching the children about different causes and special occasions. My children have always been very happy here and I am so pleased they were given a great Early Years foundation from this nursery.

I can't praise the team at little tots - Stoney Heath enough. My youngest comes out with a smile on her face every session. The team have helped so much with my daughters speech recently and I know they always have my daughters best interests at heart. They have so much to offer at the nursery and keep
the children well entertained throughout the day as well as teaching them such valuable skills towards their development. My oldest who is now in school and no longer attends the nursery still is made to feel special whenever we are collecting her little sister. I have been dropping my children to little tots for the last 4 years and they really feel like part of the family.

Our 15 month old son started at this nursery in March. We looked around a few nurseries and this one stood out as being a happy place with a homely feel, with kind and caring staff. We feel reassured when we drop him off that he will be well looked after and that he will enjoy a range of stimulating
activities. The staff take time to talk to you and let you know what your child has been up to when you pick them up, and they have great energy and are clearly passionate about their work. We are very happy with this nursery.

This really is an extra special nursery. My son and daughter are so happy here and both absolutely thriving. The staff are exceptional. Everyone feels like family and they really do go above and beyond to support all of us - for example we are working parents and when things are hectic they've been
able to accommodate extra hours and extra days at short notice when needed. I can't thank the team enough. We feel so priviledged to have both the children here. Communication and feedback to parents is excellent. The range of activities they put on for the children goes far beyond anything I could ever come up with at home! It is truly impressive. Thank you so much Little Tots team, we are so grateful knowing the children are being cared for so brilliantly and having such a fantastic time while we are out at work.

I can not speak highly enough of Little Tots and the care they provide for my daughter! The staff are amazing and go above and beyond in the work and care they provide for the children!!
Facilities are fantastic and the add on of Forest school is such a unique selling point for this nursery and one
the children learn so much from and of course have lots of fun!!

Great team very good with children.

A fantastic nursery with lovely, dynamic and enthusiastic staff. Our daughter was very happy here before she started school and our younger son is also loving it. The forest school is an added bonus. Couldn't recommend it more highly, we'll miss being part of it when our son starts school.

We are so grateful to everyone at little tots, our son loves the nursery especially going to forest school. The staff spend time with the children individually helping teach them phonics and numbers etc to help the transition into school. The attention to detail is beyond what we ever could have expected
from a nursery and it's clear to see in his learning. Would recommend this nursery to everyone.

Little Tots have gone above and beyond our expectations for a nursery! Our little girl loves going and will run in so happy of a morning. She loves to tell us all the fun things she has done. The staff are all amazing and so lovely and nothing is ever too much for them! 100% would recommend this nursery
