Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.   

The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.

The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.   

To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.

The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.

Congratulations!
All the staff work so hard supporting, teaching and encouraging our children with love and fun every day. Our youngest started 2 weeks ago and absolutely loves it. We are sad that it's our oldest child's last few months before he goes to infant school.
You've cared for him like he was your own.

My daughter has been attending Little Tots since she was 6 months old. She is now 2 and a half years old and absolutely loves going. At drop off time she doesn't even look back to say goodbye to us, she just runs straight in! The staff are all lovely and friendly and caring and the nursery has a lovely
"family" feel.

My son has been in the baby room since September and I cannot praise the nursery and the staff highly enough. My son has absolutely flourished here and is developing so well. At drop off and pick up, the staff are always there to chat to and have got to know him so well. The small nature of the nursery
means you get to know all staff well and my son always comes home smiling, happy and worn out after a brilliant day!

Our son left Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath to start big school. His leaving party at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath was in September 2020. After leaving Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath, he talked about missing his kind teachers. He loves his big school and in a big testament to the staff
at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath, during this Easter holiday break in April 2021, he wrote a letter to his former teachers at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath saying how they will be surprised to see his handwriting. He also proudly made a beautiful picture, added a chocolate bunny and counted down the days until he could deliver his parcel to his former teachers.

Such a lovely nursery. We moved him from another nursery, and he is so much happier here. He gets to be himself and have more independence than his last nursery, and he's developing so well. The staff are just so friendly and personable, and it just feels like a little family. He always comes back so
happy and seems to have so much fun. They have managed so well and given our son so much normality during this pandemic. We cannot wait for him to start school in the summer.

Both my middle child and my youngest have attended little tots and they have been exceptional throughout. My youngest is still in attendance and has additional difficulties resulting in external SENCO support which the nursery have welcomed and taken on board without any grumblings. My youngest is now
thriving and has improved immensely since attending Little Tots, so much so that his specialists are always amazed at his progress. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone considering a care provider for their children.

My little boy started in the baby room at the beginning of November and at only 9 months old it was hard to know how he would settle. I cannot rate the care enough - the staff are so friendly and attentive and they have made it very easy for me to return to work. My little boy absolutely loves his time
at nursery which speaks for itself. Couldn’t recommend Little Tots enough.

We have sent both our children here and absolutely love this nursery. The staff are friendly and always cheerful and our children formed strong bonds with them. They have such a lovely way with the children to get them to corporate - something I really admire.
The children have freedom to move around
in the setting (inside and outside) as well as explore the great outdoors through forest school or trips on the bus. There is such a huge selection of activities to choose from and they always make an effort to come up with new weekly themes. When my son started school he already had some basic reading and writing skills which made the transition that much smoother. Overall, I feel lucky to have this nursery near me and thank all the staff for everything they do. It really is an excellent place!

I have 2 children at Little Tots.
My eldest came from a big nursery and had delayed speech and was very shy when she joined this nursery almost a year ago. This isn't the case now and she is a confident girl and is now very vocal, she has made some wonderful friendships with other children as well
as the staff.

My youngest child is in the new baby room. The room has its own door to the outside space and they will use this garden the majority of the day playing with mud, water, sand, you name it. They mix regularly with the older children in the morning and evening and sometimes will join them in their playground.


They have use of a minibus which means trips out to garden centres, parks and forest school.


Montessori education is the biggest selling point to us and my eldest loves to learn and this is due to how they teach them here.
We have the peace of mind that while we are at work, they are being cared for and enjoying themselves.

My youngest child has recently started at Little Tots and has settled in beautifully, just as her 2 older siblings did.The staff are super friendly and welcoming. They show a clear passion for working with children with their enthusiasm and big smiles at the door each morning. The activities and themes
change each week, whilst still allowing for free play and individuality. The Montessori approach has enabled my older children to flourish at school, with both their academics and friendships. They still enjoy attending Little Tots during school holidays for holiday club, which is a testament to the staff and their time spent at the nursery.

We are so happy with Little Tots and the care that our son and daughter have received. They love all the staff and we are all made to feel like we are part of the Little Tots family. My daughter was unsure about Forest school sometimes but the staff went the extra mile to make sure she enjoyed herself
and wanted to go to Forest school. They are always doing something amazing and different with the children and getting them out and about on the minibus. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Little Tots. We will be very sad once we have to leave for school but I know that Little Tots have given our children the best start for school life.

Since my two year old son started at Little Tots he has become much more independent, his speech has improved and his confidence has grown. The nursery staff are caring and friendly and the atmosphere at nursery is always positive. Communication with parents is really good with daily updates. The activities
are varied and the staff go above and beyond for the children, treat them with respect and kindness, I have not once seen a child not acknowledged or helped through it while upset.
I feel so lucky I have found a safe environment where my child is thriving and where he goes with a smile on his face.

I cannot recommend Little Tots enough. The staff go above and beyond to help and encourage the children to learn in a fun environment. They are all understanding of your children's needs and have been very accommodating to our change in circumstances which has meant my daughter can stay at Little Tots.

We have been using Little Tots nursery now for almost a year for our son, we really like the surrounding area, the forest schools, the ethos of learning through doing.


All of these were a great reason as to why we sent our son here, having been there for a number of months we have grown to know

the staff and I can say that they are all amazing.


Our son has a fantastic day, every day we pick him up he is having a story or doing something with the other children or staff, whenever our little boy is upset due to us leaving or is tired they always make the effort to spend time with him to cheer him up and make sure he's okay. Every time I've been there I've never seen a child excluded or upset not receiving attention like many other larger nurseries.


Equipment wise they have lots for our son to do, every other day he comes home with an amazing art creation.


We are sending our next son there in March, I highly recommend you check Little Tots out.

Since starting at the age of 2 in a mixed age environment, our son is thriving at Little Tots. Having quickly formed bonds with the staff, his speech and confidence have come on leaps and bounds and he obviously enjoys his time there. He shares with us (with a beaming smile on his face) little snippets
about his friends, the staff and activities. every day. We're looking forward to hearing stories about his trips to Forest School when he turns 3 as he especially loves playing outdoors. We're so delighted that he is flourishing in this caring and nurturing environment, and would highly recommend any prospective parents to visit.

Both of my children have been through Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath and I am extremely happy and satisfied with the experience. Apart from the professional, caring, friendly staff, the excellent facilities and experiences, the most important thing for me is that both my children are/were happy.
It is a very happy environment like an extension of a close, caring family. I feel reassured that my children are in the best possible place. Receiving the best care and I will be sad when my youngest leaves!

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year now, I can’t praise it enough. She has really grown in confidence since starting, she is always excited to go and ultimately I think that is down to the fantastic staff. They are warm, welcoming and approachable, it’s a real family feel. Communication
between the staff and parents is great, there is always the opportunity to talk through what they have done that day and any questions you have.
The opportunities given to the children are fantastic with forest school, dance, yoga, cooking and a lot of other amazing activities. I couldn’t be happier with this little gem of a nursery and would highly recommend it to everyone.
