Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.   

The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.

The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.   

To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.

The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.

Great nursery. All the staff there are very friendly, caring and understanding. My son experiences a lot of different things and enjoys forest school. It is quite hard for us as parents to give him opportunities like that. Montessori education that they do at this nursery teaches me a lot too. He has
become very independent since he started going there.
Also, they use an App to inform us what he has done for the day with photos and comments. It is a great way to know how he is doing at nursery.
They often do charity events for children. I think that shows how much they care about children and that helps me to trust to leave my son with them.

Little Tots is a fantastic nursery and the staff are so warm and inviting. My son has a really sensitive side to him and they deal with that ever so well, encouraging him to join in with his friends and experience the nursery environment and all of the fantastic learning and playing to its full potential.

Forest School is such a great learning tool and I love the fact that they have such a fun outside space like this to use and enjoy.
My son also enjoys his lunch, telling me that, "it is so yummy" and the best part of the day for him as he gets to sit and eat with all his friends! For us, he is eating very nutritious meals freshly cooked, with fresh snacks also throughout the day.
The staff cannot be praised enough by myself and my husband, they really are first class!
Just a fantastic nursery all round.

My two granddaughters attended Little Tots before starting school and we have nothing but praise for the venue and the staff. There were many various activities for the children to take part in, as well as a sound learning programme. We witnessed genuine interest and care from the lovely staff, and
the girls really enjoyed going to Little Tots and thrived in the nurturing environment it provided. It is well equipped for the limited space available and provides a stimulating area for children.

The team at Little Tots Nursery do an amazing job. My little girl absolutely loves her days there. In fact, she’s sad when it’s the weekend! The team are caring, energetic, passionate and always smiling!

This is an excellent nursery. My son is so so happy he can't wait to go and does not want to leave in the evening. The facilities are excellent. The staff are truly amazing and wonderful.
They do so much with the children Forest School, cooking, role play, teaching, themes of the week, letter of the
week and so much more.


They are open to suggestions of themes raised by parents.


They really, really care about the children's welfare with the care and the training the staff go through. Would totally recommend to anyone who is looking for a fantastic, family-friendly nursery.
