Into-Play @ Barnwood opened in October 2015 and was previously the old Barnwood doctor's surgery. It is perfectly situated to provide childcare to Barnwood, Elmbridge, Hucclecote and Abbeymead.

The nursery has been carefully designed to provide all age groups with superb equipment and activities to suit their developmental stage. They have an under 2's room, 2-3's room and large pre-school unit, which is complemented by a huge outdoor space to allow the children to get out in the fresh air and enjoy mud kitchens, reading teepee and the outside playroom, known as "The Shed". My daughter used to attend the nursery before she started school. She enjoyed going. Always happy when I left her and she had a lovely relationship with all the staff. My son has now started in the baby room. He enjoys going and they take their time to get to know each child individually and get to
know their likes and dislikes. I have already recommended the nursery to my sister in law. I find the staff friendly, happy and very caring. They are always happy to help.

I would highly recommend IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Barnwood. Since my daughter began in preschool over a year ago, she has grown so much in confidence and learnt so much through play. She enjoys going to nursery and loves to come home and tell me about all of the new projects that the children have been
looking at, the activities she has taken part in and the friends that she has been playing with.


The staff are all so welcoming to both the children and parents, nothing is too much trouble. There is always good communication from the staff whenever I collect my daughter to tell me about the day she has had.

Very impressed with babies and toddlers. Slightly less so with preschool due to freq staff variations and consequential lower confidence of child with staff. Have noticed vastly accelerated learning of child compared to the previous child at a different nursery. Appears to be a wider variety of learning
experiences such as yoga and go-go beans. Also lovely outdoor space.

From our very first tour of the facility, we had a great feeling about the nursery. The staff have lovely relationships with the children and it’s obvious that the children are safe, happy and trust their carers implicitly. The settling in process was thorough and ensured that our son gradually got
used to his new surroundings and was able to get to know the adults who would look after him. We are so impressed with how well the staff have got to know our son and how they use their knowledge of his personality and interests to plan activities for him. Handovers are precise and thorough, thanks to succinct records, which are updated throughout the day. The nursery is always striving to improve and we are kept informed of any changes. We have regular and easy access to the learning journey, which is updated frequently and displays a range of photographs, assessments and observations. We are so lucky to have found Into Play and would not hesitate to recommend them to other parents.

I changed my son from a playgroup to IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Barnwood as I felt they were not listening to me or my worries as a mother regarding my son having suspected autism. Since being there he has come on well has a good relationship with the staff. His younger brother also started January with
no concerns at all. He loves going in and comes out telling me he has done even shows me his yoga moves.

This nursery has great potential, the majority of the staff are friendly and will do anything in their powers to help.
Our daughter attends and is very happy and will continue to attend until she starts school.
IntoPlay seems to have a communication problem and things can get lost in translation
between staff and parents - this can cause unneeded upset and stress to parents and children.
Overall, the nursery is fantastic and we are very happy with the service the nursery has provided; they also provide ongoing support to our daughter who has multiple allergies (with of course a few hiccups along the way). Our daughter is very bright and very demanding and the staff deal with that incredibly well and we value the work they do in supporting our daughter.

Both my children are currently attending IntoPlay Day Nursery @ Barnwood. In the 3 years we have been there, I have never had any problems with the nursery. I leave my children knowing they are in safe hands and with staff that are professional and genuinely care. All the member are staff are so lovely
and the manager is extremely helpful, friendly and will do anything to help.


My children have come so far with the help of the IntoPlay Day Nursery staff. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Great nursery!


I moved my son here after standards at his previous nursery had slipped. I was a bit apprehensive as I didn’t want to unsettle him. However with thanks to the great staff he settled in straight away and loves going to nursery. I know he enjoys himself as he looks forward to going,

he has made friends and looks forward to seeing staff members. I only wished I had moved him sooner!


Staff are friendly, work hard and are brilliant with the children!


I would definitely recommend this nursery to others

I have been extremely impressed with the level of care our daughter receives whilst at Barwood Intoplay. All the staff that we have come into contact with so far are fantastic, they have strong bonds with all the children. We have noticed how much her development has come along since starting there,
and as a parent (and teacher), I feel confident that the staff are doing they very best for my child. All staff are approachable and friendly, very good lines of communication during handover. Thank you.

My son started at IntoPlay Barnwood in October 2016 and he settled in really well. He had three settling in session, to begin with, which allowed him to feel at ease with the staff and his new environment.
My son is very fond of his keyworker and often talks about the activities they do during the
days, such as yoga and outdoor play.
Overall I'm very pleased with the staff, environment and activities that IntoPlay Barnwood provide.

My little boy (20 months) is so happy and settled at Barnwood IntoPlay. The staff are brilliant, they have really strong bonds with the children which is lovely. I always arrive to find my little one having a good time. He is always bringing home bits he has made during activities and the staff are
so thoughtful helping the children make things for special occasions like Christmas, Mothers Day etc. The regular nursery newsletters are great for keeping parents up to date with special occasions and general goings on.
I cannot fault the food, it is home made and I am regularly told my little one has had 3 servings of lunch! He obviously loves it! The nursery itself is a lovely, large building with big airy rooms and brightly decorated walls, there are more toys and activities than the kids know what to do with and they have a large garden to run around in with all sorts of toys and activities to play with.
Its such a lovely nursery and I have recommended IntoPlay to several friends.

We are extremely pleased with the level of care our son receives whilst being at Barnwood. We have found that his social skills have really improved since starting there.
The staff are always friendly and helpful with great communication at the end of every session.
We really could not recommend
this nursery enough, happy child and happy parents.

We love this nursery! Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff love my son so so much. The activities are varied and I like that the pictures can come home with him. Daily reports are excellent for parents too.
