My little one has gone from the Baby Room at 10 months old to Pre School today at 3.5 years old. Every step of the way she has received exceptional care. From the moment we enter the doors, we are greeted by the friendly management team who take the time to get to know you and your child. From there
on in, the staff are friendly, caring and helpful. My daughter's development has been shaped by the care she has received there and Little Oaks has helped her become the independent, sassy, intelligent, polite and caring child that she is today. I have nothing but praise for this lovely family run nursery and I can’t wait for my second little girl to start there in February. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a nursery.

The team at Little Oaks have been wonderful throughout the time that our little one has been at Little Oaks and we're very sad to be leaving (due to moving to a new area). From the engaging activities to the extremely warm and lovely staff, it really does feel like one big family and I could not recommend
them enough. Little Oaks will always have a very special place in our hearts so well done for creating something so wonderful.

I have my two little ones at Little Oaks - they will be leaving soon due to relocation however we will all be sad to leave Little Oaks behind. This is a lovely nursery and as an anxious parent, I do feel like my children are safe and well looked after. My eldest child always comes home with stories
of what she has done that day and if my youngest could talk more I'm sure he would do the same. I really appreciate the ey log updates while I'm at work. Little Oaks provide a lot of these especially, for the younger ones. I know my little boy in the baby room is safe and happy while I'm at work and the updates give me a boost. The staff are kind and friendly - happy to chat with me on the rare occasion I'm not in a mad rush.

My son has been with Little Oaks from the age of nine months and has recently moved up into the pre-school room. We could not be happier with the amount of support and nurturing he has received from day one. At each stage of his developmental journey, he has been looked after by amazing carers - you
can see that they all genuinely care about the children. The staff have always gone out of their way to put his needs first and make sure that all of the children are in a safe, supportive and educational environment. He has grown in confidence and ability and this is all thanks to the hard work the team puts in. We will forever be grateful to everyone at Little Oaks for giving him such a good start in life - I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

My son was a shy little 2-years-old when he started Little Oaks in September but he’s now an outgoing, happy boy who is developing really well. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more caring and my son loves his time there.

Our son has been at the nursery for around ten months and loves it!
He has a fantastic connection with the staff and loves going in. The team are always keeping us informed with what he’s done in the day with photos and videos as well as giving us his paintings/drawings etc from the day.
His speech
has developed quickly since being in the toddler room and he’s always talking about nursery!

My son has been attending Little Oaks since October 2018 and I could not be more delighted with the experience we have had.
I was extremely nervous and teary to part with him at the beginning and all the staff were just so kind and reassuring to me and him. It took no time at all for him to settle
and he is now visibly excited to attend and join in the varied experiences he gets there. Little Oaks offer activities I would never have the imagination to give him at home and as a result, I really believe he is developing better with their contribution. The room he is in is bright and airy and all the staff within the room are very warm, caring and friendly. I particularly love the updates through the early years app, they really brighten my days at work and when you look back through them it's brilliant to see how he's come on over these months.
Thank you for looking after him so well!

Like most parents, we visited lots of nurseries, but as soon as we walked into Little Oaks it really stood out from the rest, from the warm and friendly manager and staff to the modern, open and spacious rooms. The online observations and diaries really made leaving my son there so much easier and brightened
up my day at work when an observation came through and I knew he was having lots of fun! The staff and owners really go the extra mile from welcoming you in each morning to organising events like Christmas play, mothers day magic show and sports day and ensuring as a working parent you feel your child is safe, well looked after will have a great day! My son has progressed so much due to the wide range of activities on offer and the staffs care and commitment to his development. We are moving and are so sad to have to leave and I can honestly say none of the new nurseries I visited came close to how much I loved Little Oaks, I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough!

Our son and daughter started at Little Oaks in 2018 as we moved into the area.
Our daughter graduated from the preschool class after a couple of months as she was due to start school but in the short time that she was there, she absolutely loved going every week. The room leaders are so lovely and
caring and they provide so many activities and variety of things to do each day. Her writing and drawing skills improved enormously in just a few months that she attended.
Our son currently still attends Little Oaks and is very settled and happy, he particularly loves all the activities, especially messy play with shaving foam and baking cakes.
As parents, we are incredibly happy with the nursery as we know that our son is safe, well looked after and will have an enjoyable day. We love having photo and video updates daily.
We would highly recommend Little Oaks Children’s Nursery to anyone looking for nursery care and we feel very lucky that our son goes there.

Both my daughters attend Little Oaks, with my eldest since 2015, so we have really got to know the nursery and the staff very well over the years. I will always recommend Little Oaks because of the nurturing, family-feel to the nursery through to more practical reasons like the long opening times which
suited us when we were both commuting.

Little Oaks always thrives to provide the best opportunities for the children and regularly organises trips for the children and events such a Sports day, Magic Shows and Christmas pantomimes. You also have the choice to sign up to weekly classes held at the nursery, including sports club, Jo jingles and forest school.

Preschool room have been excellent at preparing the children for their transition to school and do weekly letters and maths challenges to really engage the children.

My children both love Little Oaks, are extremely fond of all the staff and know will both miss it very much when they are ready to fly the nest!

My daughter has been attending Little Oaks four days a week, for just over a year (since she was ten months old). In that time, she’s come on in leaps and bounds – she clearly loves the time she spends there and has developed strong bonds with those who care for her.
The process of settling her into
the baby room was gentle and supportive (she was rocked to sleep and enjoyed cuddles aplenty; meaning that, as a working mum and psychologist with a focus on attachment, I felt comfortable leaving her).
She enjoys a wide range of activities each week (especially loving multi-sensory messy play and dancing with her friends during circle time). She recently, seamlessly transitioned into the toddler room. As a parent, I appreciate the lovely family atmosphere that Little Oaks offers; the staff team (including the owners and management team) are warm, friendly and wonderfully responsive to queries their care, organisation and commitment is second to none. I recommend Little Oaks to everyone.

Our daughter has been at Little Oaks for nearly two years and we're extremely happy with the nursery. The staff are wonderful – friendly, attentive and kind. Everyone is so welcoming and happy to help, it put us at our ease straightaway and our daughter bonded with the staff very quickly.
We like
the fact that Little Oaks is a family-run business and it's clear that the management really do care about providing the best experience possible for the children. The facilities are modern with an open, spacious feel and plenty of stimulation for the kids. We get updates on activities and progress via the EyLog website/app, which is convenient and a great way to stay in touch. Our daughter absolutely loves the wide range of activities at the nursery. She has so much fun playing with her friends and is learning new things all the time. Thank you, everyone, at Little Oaks!

We have been with Little Oaks since our little boy was 10 months old and we did have our new baby down to join in January. We are moving and this is the only reason we are leaving the nursery. This is an excellent nursery that our little boy loves. All of the staff are warm and welcoming and shower
our little boy with love and encouragement. Our little boy moved from the baby room to the toddler room and has come on leaps and bounds. He has made so many friends and always talks about the staff with great affection. He is learning so much every day through both structured and free play. We are very sad to leave and cannot recommend Little Oaks highly enough.

Little Oaks is a haven of nurturing fun! My children have been cared for in the baby room, encouraged in the toddler room and prepared for school in the pre-school room. There is a genuine family feel which is reinforced through lovely events like sports day, the Christmas party, the pantomime trip
and also on a daily basis through the enthusiasm, energy, creativity and patience of the team of staff at the nursery. It is fun, friendly and vibrant but with education and discipline at its core. My children have all 'graduated' happy and confident to take on the next step to school and we shall miss Little Oaks enormously!

We are so pleased to have found Little Oaks Nursery. We visited so many nurseries and we knew Little Oaks was the perfect choice for us as soon as we stepped foot inside and met the Nursery Manager. Her warmth and passion for childcare put us at ease immediately and herself and the Deputy Manager have
been incredibly supportive since our daughter has started.
The nursery itself is colourful, vibrant and a great environment for children to learn and develop. In the 3 months since our daughter has started there, she has become more confident in her abilities and it is obvious that she is very happy there. The staff within the baby room are incredibly friendly, attentive to the children's needs, have great relationships with the children and will always make the time to tell us about her day when we collect her. Little Oaks also sends us photos of our daughter and updates of what she has been up to that day, which never fails to put a smile on our faces. Thank you Little Oaks!

My son goes to Little Oaks and I love it!

Firstly, the way he’s progressed over the past two years is wonderful. They have helped him grow in learning to talk, count, read, make friends, and most importantly (for him) play sports really well.
The sports club which they run is a great example of

the way they are innovating and offering the children so much to do every day.

Secondly, the team are amazing. Whether it’s the managers who welcome you in each day and do everything they can to make your work/life balance easy, the directors who are so switched on and leading a great nursery, or all the room leaders and key workers, who are just the best people in the world - all of them make you feel comfortable leaving your child for the day.

Thirdly, the environment is great. The nursery has been designed so well, and the kids love it. It's right in the centre of town, next to a car park, and ideally located for the station.

I’m a big fan of Little Oaks, and would recommend it to anyone.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.208)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.208) out of 10 for Little Oaks Children's Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.926 for Little Oaks Children's Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (88 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.926

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.282 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Oaks Children's Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 83 number of registered child places is 16.6. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.6 = 0.482

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
