Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney provides high quality facilities for children aged from three months through to pre-school age and is registered with Ofsted.

It has rooms specifically designed for each age range, which reflects the seven areas of learning as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Healthy and freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, tea, snacks and drinks are included within fees. Daily menus are carefully selected by a professional nutritionist to meet the energy requirements of growing children, and the nursery offers branded nappies, wipes and creams as part of its fees.

Monkey Puzzle is an excellent nursery in the village. Staff are caring and helpful also, to parents. Programs are designed to suit the development of the age but with a personal touch for each child. Key workers really know the children and support their growth and learning. Friendly environment helps

We have been so pleased with the care and education our daughter has received at nursery. The staff are extremely caring, friendly and always have time to talk to you about progress. I really love the layout of the nursery and the garden is perfect for them to spend lots of time outside.

My son and daughter have attended Monkey Puzzle since the ages of 10 months and 1 year old and they have loved every minute. They have been going for three years now and I wouldn't change it for the world now. The staff are amazing and so loving towards my children, which is very comforting when you're
at work. Monkey Puzzle is a happy and safe environment. my children love the staff.

My youngest son has been at Monkey Puzzle, Hartley Wintney, for over 2 years now and has really thrived in the fantastic environment that the owner and the team create. The staff are all super friendly and really care about the children, taking the time to identify their likes and dislikes and helping
them to explore and try new things.
They are also very creative in engaging the children around different activities and themes to help them learn more about the world through their play. The nursery has great sized rooms and outside space for the children to roam around and really encourages some independence as they get older. The owner is also hugely supportive of parents and her slightly longer hours have proven invaluable when my commute doesn't fully go to plan! I really recommend this nursery and preschool for anyone looking for a safe, fun and creative environment where their children will thrive and build lasting friendships that will take them on to school.

Our daughter joined Monkey Puzzle last October at 1 and a half years old. We can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work in looking after our daughter. She has learnt so much and has become independent and sociable. I always felt reassured that our daughter would be cared for. Due to a change
in our family circumstances, we had to move away. It was quite heart wrenching to say the least that our daughter had to leave Monkey Puzzle. Gone but never forgotten.
Thank you all for giving our daughter the best start we could have hoped for. Our daughter is settling again now but it was very difficult to find somewhere new as the standards at Monkey Puzzle are the highest any parent or guardian could wish for. We miss everyone every day. Thank you so much.

Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Hartley Wintney is a brilliant nursery that has cultivated an exceptional learning environment for my son filled with bright colours and warm and friendly staff members. My son absolutely loves spending time at nursery and is always eager to get to nursery which can only be
a good thing.

I have found the staff at the nursery both friendly and attentive and it is clear that they really spend time getting to know not just my son but the other children as well. As a parent its great to know that the necessary observations are being carried out and habits are being identified. The management team are also keen that the nursery keeps on improving for the better and regularly enlists the support of the parents to provide feedback for them to build upon.

I really feel as though the nursery fosters a great culture for children to learn as a working Mother it's great to know that my son is happy there and is being properly cared for.

Thank you Monkey Puzzle, Hartley Wintney

I wanted to say a big thank you for everything that you are doing at the nursery.

Moving nursery was a big decision, but we are so glad that we made the decision to come to you. The experience could not be more different.

Our little girl is engaged every single day, she is learning well through
play, her language skills have come on brilliantly, and I know how strong her relationships are particularly with her key workers, she even asks to see them at the weekends!

From a parents perspective obviously the fact that she is safe and happy is of utmost importance, but having the regular updates on her day using the Eylog app is really beneficial and, and the assessment on her learning stages was interesting too.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and the team and to let you know that I genuinely believe you’d be hard pushed to find a nursery where the children would have more fun, engagement and learning opportunities.

My son has been at Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney since he was 1 since it opened in January 2016. I have been really happy with the nursery, he has come on leaps and bounds in his social side and language. Before he spoke he was singing (humming) songs like Humpty Dumpty and Twinkle twinkle little star
with all the hand movements and this was something I had not taught him and was delighted how he had learnt this. My son takes important daily medication that the team have never missed and been diligent in the awkward way he has to have it!

The staff are kind and compassionate, which for me is the most important factor than hours of paperwork that has to be done these days in nurseries. It is a newer nursery which might worry some, but with that is freshness, passion, modern faculties and an eagerness to always improve the nursery. I know my son gets lots Of cuddles, care kindness and this is the most important thing while I am at work.

All in all, we really love it !

Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery has been fantastic for my slightly nervous 2-year-old daughter. The staff are warm and enthusiastic and make a real effort to attend to the different needs and likes/dislikes of each child. The children take part in a brilliant range of activities and the nursery building is
bright and modern with a fantastic outside space. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.277)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.277) out of 10 for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Hartley Wintney is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.906 for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Hartley Wintney is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.906

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.371 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Hartley Wintney is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.571

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Nursery Owner and Designated Safeguard Lead - Level 3.

Since volunteering at a local nursery helping children for whom English was not their first language, I have had a strong desire to work with children. After the birth of my eldest son Chester, I realised I really did not want to return to the daily grind of commuting to London, not really knowing who was looking after him, and decided the only way forward was to start a nursery business that offers the opportunity to be actively involved in his day to daycare, and an exciting change of career whilst using my existing skills gained throughout my employment.

I hold an LLB (Hons) Law degree and PGDip in Legal Practice and have worked in various roles in law, finance and compliance.

As a mum, I will ensure that the nursery runs to the highest of standards so that all children benefit from the same level of care as I would expect for my own. I want my nursery to feel like a second home to the children (it is my second home too, after all!), where they feel comfortable, safe and secure, whilst benefiting from a stimulating learning environment.

I really enjoy watching the children learn and grow within our lovely nursery, and enjoy seeing the children all engaged in a multitude of fun and exciting activities.

We relocated to Devon and I became Manager of a nursery before having my own children in 2011 and 2013.
