Beech Tree Childcare provides flexible day care for children aged from birth up to 5 years old.

Set in the grounds of Worthing Rugby Club, Angmering, children have 23 acres of the club’s land to explore and play in, as well as the nursery’s own gardens. The team believes that play underpins how children learn and develop, and that children learn best through practical, hands-on experiences and interactions with their environment. The children spend most of their time outside with play leaders, building dens, climbing trees and other activities that develop their practical and social skills, as well as their imaginations.

Beech Tree is a fantastic nursery with friendly, engaging staff.
Activities are child-led so your little one will always be doing something they love, be that crafts, music or making use of all the amazing outside space.
The food is cooked on the premises and is varied and tasty - my daughter always
goes back for more!!
Fees are charged by the hour so gives lots of flexibility to suit your personal needs.
My daughter goes in happily each morning and comes home with a big smile every afternoon - there’s no better recommendation than that!!

My daughter has been going since she was 20-months-old and my son since he was 8-months, they love going to nursery and run through the doors with barely a goodbye, not only have they helped my children grow in confidence and independence they have always been ready to help with any question or concerns
I have about their development and have always put my mind at ease.

The staff at Beech Tree are so passionate about what they do and ensure the children there develop themselves to the best that they can be, are well balanced and ready to attend school. Children love going to Beech Tree. It is great to see a nursery where the focus is on child lead development and not
fixed on learning set curriculum points.

My child started here as I am a key worker and the previous nursery closed down. I am extremely impressed with Beech Tree and the services they provide, feels like my child has always been here.

My children are happy and well looked after at Beech Tree. They rush in the door and look forward to spending time there. As a small nursery, they have a lot of individual attention and staff know my children very well. The hours I require childcare are variable and Beech Tree always manages to be flexible
so I can work when I need to and don't lose money.

Sadly we do not recommend Beech Tree. I feel that they are not a reliable form of childcare. Much like when children move from preschool to school my son was moving up to a different preschool in September (due to my daughter going there) the nursery knew this would be happening when he started before
Christmas. Recently I checked the notice period required for leaving to ensure the right time would be given, I was considering taking him out for the summer holidays as my daughter would be off too. I got a call saying due to my earlier enquiry we were being asked to leave because they have a waiting list. I was devastated by this we must have done something wrong but I can't think of anything, my son was never in if he was ill, I was late once, bills paid etc. A complaint was sent that day they had 4 weeks to respond but nothing which is incredibly unprofessional. The letter we were sent to confirm this was blunt and I was spoken to poorly when very upset.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.292)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.292) out of 10 for Beech Tree Childcare Angmering is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Beech Tree Childcare Angmering is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.292 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beech Tree Childcare Angmering is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.167

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
