Amazing nursery, our son loves it here. He can be a shy boy but he gets so excited every time he arrives. The staff are amazing and aid in his development all the time. The outdoor space is amazing meaning they are outside most days. We also love that he is cooked a homemade meal every day.

An amazing nursery with amazing staff. My son has settled in so well and has come on leaps and bounds since starting in October 2024. Amazing home-cooked meals which he eats all of and such tentative care. I would recommend it to anyone!

Child First Welbeck is a wonderful environment with dedicated staff, a wholesome atmosphere and a focus on outdoor activities. My daughter has thrived since starting there over a year ago. My daughter has been attending the nursery for a year now and it's been a very positive experience. The management was very good in setting things up for us and getting all the admin done and the staff overall have been fantastic in welcoming her and then looking after her. We've seen great progress
with our daughter in terms of her social skills, but it's clear the staff also have the children's educational needs in mind as well and encourage learning through playtime, games and singing etc.
We also like the environment and setting, it's not a sterile boring classroom environment and there are plenty of outdoor activities encouraged.
Feedback is good, updates are provided by the online app, and we've recently attended a 'parents evening' to discuss progress. Lastly, extra events are a nice touch, encouraging participation in Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's etc. as well as having events for things like Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfasts.

My little boy has been attending Welbeck for over 2 years and I cannot praise them enough. The attention they give to the children and the nurturing they do to allow them to grow and progress is second to none. My little one's development would not be where it is if it wasn't for the amazing staff.
The food they provide was one of the main reasons for choosing the nursery as well as the outdoor facilities and I can only say that due to this place, my little boy has thrived!

A great nursery, the staff are brilliant and really care for each child. My little boy loves it here.

We have been absolutely delighted with the warm and nurturing environment at Child First Welbeck. Our daughter has been attending since she was six months old, and during this time, she has developed strong bonds with many of the staff members. Their dedication and care have significantly contributed

I am currently in the process of having my little girl go through settling-in sessions and the whole team have been incredible with her with flexibility of sessions and start dates. I thought she would be ok after her original planned 3 but sadly she needs a few more to get settled and from management
being so understanding to offering the amount of extra sessions to get her settled to the room staff being absolutely amazing with her and so understanding. I know I have picked an amazing nursery that she and I will love.

What a wonderful nursery! Our eldest daughter has been attending for three years. She has an autoimmune condition and multiple allergies, which the nursery offered us full support in managing. She is growing into a happy, kind and very intelligent little girl thanks to the care the amazing staff have
poured into her. Our second daughter is currently undergoing her settling-in sessions which are going very well. The app has been particularly useful in asking questions ahead of her properly starting.
The best thing about this nursery (aside from being outdoors so much!) is undoubtedly the staff. The ladies in the office go above and beyond to make things easier for busy parents, the chef cooks yummy home-cooked meals and caters brilliantly for allergies and every member of the staff in each room is friendly, helpful and a good role model to the children. I know our eldest will be very sad to leave when she goes to school in September!

This nursery is certainly one of a kind, with amazing staff who really put the effort into helping your child progress and settle in. My little one started in October 2024 and struggled to be away from myself in a new environment with new people but the staff were compassionate and comforted her throughout
the process and she now loves going to nursery to see the staff and her friends. The outdoor exposure they get is fantastic and suits my little one perfect as she's a very outdoorsy girl while also doing lots of fun indoor activities throughout the day.
If you're looking for a nursery that are compassionate and dedicated to caring for your child, then this place is certainly the one.

From the first day my granddaughter started, she has loved every second. The staff are so good with the children and discussing with family any help the children need to learn. The fact they get to spend time outside in the fresh air surrounded by the most beautiful surroundings and so much safe space.

My little girl started at Child First Nursery at the start of January 2025. This is her 4th week being there and we know she is enjoying it. We've already seen a difference in her confidence and her normal self. The staff there are amazing too which I think helps.
The big one for me is the daily updates
that parents get through about their children. The nursery are always updating what the children are doing, what they're eating, any activities they do and anything else that's important. It's just really good to know.
This nursery is brilliant for any parents who want to take their children. I can't recommend it enough.

My daughters have both attending Child First from a young age. They love attending and have lots of fun whilst in the nursery setting.
We have lots of plus points but also several detractors.
The outdoor space is a real plus. No other nursery in the area has the space like Child First meaning that
the majority of the year they are outside exploring.
From care and attention to organisation, we've found Child First to be somewhat disappointing.
The staff work hard but it does feel at times like they are busier than they should be.
Belongings are not looked after, and the peg room is constantly a mess meaning you have to search high and low for clothing.
Mixed messaging from staff regarding accidents, means you are left feeling rather displaced. My daughter had a fall whilst in their care and fractured her skull and spent a week in Sheffield Children Hospital. Although not entirely their fault, this incident has left us questioning the nursery more than before.

I have personally been there to support you throughout your journey with us, so I'm quite disheartened by your review. Regarding your daughter's unfortunate accident almost a year ago, (which you praised the team for dealing with it so quickly and professionally), we supported you out of hours and were in constant contact offering any help we could give. You chose to keep your daughters with us after that incident, one has since started school while the other is still enjoying her time here. We are a busy nursery, but are always in ratio and often over staffed to offer support to all spaces. We strive to maintain a busy yet supportive nursery environment, always ensuring that staff/children ratios are met.

I have over 20 years of experience working with children from newborns to teenagers. I began my career whilst studying at university and worked as a 1:1 with a 4-year-old boy with autism, this sparked an interest in how the mind works, especially in children. I then worked in a mother and baby unit, supporting young mums and their children and teaching them about life skills, how to care for their children, and how to look after themselves. I worked for Nottingham City council for 10 years as a senior residential social care worker with children ranging from 4 years to 19 years, with learning disabilities, autism, and mental and physical disabilities. Hi, my name is Ellen. I am the finance and administration supervisor at Child First Welbeck. I have a degree in Advertising and Digital Marketing however I have always wanted to work in a childcare environment which is why I love working at the nursery! I have a daughter who is currently in the Hatchling Space so it is lovely to see as a parent all the amazing work the practitioners do!


In my spare time, I like to go on days out with my family and take as many trips to Disneyland as I can fit!
