The staff at Child First Welbeck Day Nursery go above and beyond for the children, they have lots of fun through play and singing and we, as a family, love it. Any issues ever raised are always rectified or responded to very quickly and the staff do a wonderful job!

The team have been very supportive in settling my daughter into the nursery. They have been very flexible and adapted to suit her needs. They are also great at meeting specific dietary requirements. The setting is lovely with so much wonderful outdoor space. My son also attends the nursery and has so

My daughter has been going since she was 8 months old and absolutely loves it. I felt comfortable leaving her in their care and now she's 18 months and running around, it's nice to see she has so much freedom to play and learn in and outside. The staff really care about the children and build strong
relationships with them which helps the children feel safe and secure.

We were extremely lucky to stumble upon the best nursery with next to no research. From settling sessions, reassuring anxious parents kids are okay, amazing settings and helpful staff to embracing reusable nappies and being flexible in their approach to everything from care to settling sessions and
changes to days and times, the manager and her team are the people you want looking after your children. Our eldest started at age 1, is still there loving it now and has just been joined by a little sibling, the settling has been flexible to suit their individual requirements, with great, honest communication throughout. They strike the perfect balance between activities set up to invite interaction and unstructured play and exploration. If your child loves outdoor, messy, child-led fun and freedom to explore like my kids do then I recommend this nursery with all my heart.

The staff have been amazing and have gone above and beyond to support my child. My child has attended for a number of years and I would recommend the nursery to anyone. The outdoors space and the freedom they have to explore are amazing and I haven't seen any other nursery like it in the local area.
They hold amazing events to involve the parents such as a summer bbq and keep you updated on what activities and progress your child is making.

My son started Child First when he was just 9 months old. He is now almost 3 years old and either hitting or exceeding all milestones for his age. Fully toilet trained, very confident, talkative toddler we now have, with many thanks to the kind and caring staff at Child First. Having our son attend
three days a week, it’s so lovely to get updates throughout the day whilst at work; including what yummy homemade food he has had to eat, how much, how long he has napped for and even activities he has been up to. Such a great way of treating him and asking him about his day, being able to fill in the gaps. We have been so pleased with all at Child First that we will be sending our second child there! Highly recommend.

My little boy (almost 2) started at the nursery at the beginning of July and we are so pleased we chose Child First. He has settled straight in and can’t wait to go in and play. The staff are very friendly and we love that the nursery focuses so much on outdoor play in all weathers. Other nurseries
in the area feel sterile, Child First is set on stunning grounds and has a lovely rustic feel. The updates from the nursery throughout the day via the app are a lovely touch and we look forward to receiving them each day. Highly recommend to all parents!

My daughter started attending Welbeck at 15 months old, she is now 3 and I cannot praise all the staff enough. She has gone from crying when we leave her everyday (she settled after 5/10 mins) and not wanting to attend to wanting to attend every day. My daughter is such a lovely little girl, chatty,
inquisitive and polite which I credit to the nursery. The facilities are 1000% how all nurseries should be. The staff are phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions I have and nothing is too much trouble when it comes to caring for the children. Thank You Child First Welbeck! I recommend you to everyone!

My daughter has been attending Welbeck Child First since January 2021. In addition, we did a few sessions with the nursery April-June 2020 as they offered a few sessions to key workers during the lockdown. It is a great nursery located in a beautiful estate surrounded by countryside with a lot of space
to play outdoors. The nursery manager and the staff are very professional, approachable and adaptive. They create an encouraging and stimulating environment for learning and development. My daughter absolutely loves going there. I highly recommend Welbeck Child First.

We have both our children attend this nursery, one in the fledglings room and one in the rooster's room. They both love it. They both have really good bonds with all the staff there and we couldn’t be happier with how they’re progressing. The staff are great and there’s a really healthy mix of play
and learn along with all the outdoor activities they get to do as well. There’re days I could quit work and get dropped off with the kids in honesty.

I absolutely love this nursery, the ethos and the staff. My daughter (despite sometimes having to be peeled off me) has a wonderful time and as an only child, it is an invaluable experience for her to socialise and make friends within her age group. The indoor space is great but the outdoor facility
is what makes it, it’s huge and this coupled with it being well away from any roads is fantastic. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone especially if quality outdoor time is a priority.

My daughter has attended Child First Welbeck since September 2021. She has settled in amazingly with the help of the wonderful staff members, she had never been left with anyone before this time and it was very comforting knowing that she was being left in very capable and caring hands. The setting
is beautiful, the garden is amazing and the rooms are homely! The staff are knowledgeable, very helpful and extremely friendly and they make me feel at ease. I know my daughter loves the nursery just as much as I do!

From the minute our son entered the nursery to have a look around, you could see how happy he was and how much he felt at home. All the staff are very welcoming and nothing is ever too much. Since joining the nursery our son has been a little under the weather but the staff have been so helpful and
caring towards him, taking the time to make sure he is okay and updating his dad and me. They really do care. The setting at the nursery is very outdoorsy, with lots of planting vegetables, playing in the mud, painting outside and generally exploring which our son really loves. The app that is used for parents is so easy to use and you can see exactly what they have done with their day and at what time. Seeing the pictures when you're at work really does make your day. I cannot recommend this nursery enough and we are only three weeks in.

My 21-month-old literally runs into his room! Proof to me of how much he loves the place and this is often confirmed when his staff comment about how much he loves his time there. I feel on top of the world when he comes home with his special pictures and handmade pieces. I collect him happy and often
covered in all the activities he has enjoyed - which I absolutely love to see! I can see how much the staff care for my son but I also feel very welcome. They share information about my son and we work together to support his development! The grounds are a dream and the staff are always so positive - I’m half tempted to apply for a job there myself! Can’t thank them enough for the peace of mind they give me and couldn’t imagine my son going anywhere else. I think he’d still find his way and run through their door.

We couldn't have chosen a better nursery setting for our 19-month-old daughter. She has been going to Child First Welbeck since she was 12-months and she is settled, happy and thriving. The nursery is perfectly set up for the children to play, explore and be themselves. Despite the relaxed nature, which
we love, the staff know every detail about our daughter and show genuine care and excitement when she achieves something new. We are kept fully updated on her daily meals, naps and nappy changes via the app. Communication with all staff and management is excellent.

My grandson goes to this nursery three days a week and it is brilliant. The staff are helpful, kind, caring, great at their job and understand how difficult it is to drop off your child when they are clinging to your legs! I know as soon as I am driving off he is happy playing and eating his breakfast.
Where else can they get out and collect eggs from the chicken, grow vegetables and get muddy? It’s how we all grew up and it’s great for their development. The manager cannot do enough to make every day a fun day and a place to enjoy. The home-cooked food is something else as well, it’s a pity they don’t do take away!

Our daughter attends this nursery and we are more than satisfied with the level of engagement from both management and staff. From day one we felt the staff understood the importance of each child’s individual development, and this shows with the daily updates of their diary and the feedback we receive
in terms of activities and learning milestones. Where special instructions are required such as changes to nap schedules, these are promptly adhered to, with feedback again on how it is going to ensure home and nursery life are closely aligned. The facilities are unique and attractive compared to those we have used previously, and we would recommend the nursery to new parents without hesitation.

I have over 20 years of experience working with children from newborns to teenagers. I began my career whilst studying at university and worked as a 1:1 with a 4-year-old boy with autism, this sparked an interest in how the mind works, especially in children. I then worked in a mother and baby unit, supporting young mums and their children and teaching them about life skills, how to care for their children, and how to look after themselves. I worked for Nottingham City council for 10 years as a senior residential social care worker with children ranging from 4 years to 19 years, with learning disabilities, autism, and mental and physical disabilities. I love weekends away with my family, very spicy food, live concerts and long walks with my dog.

Hi, my name is Ellen. I am the finance and administration supervisor at Child First Welbeck. I have a degree in Advertising and Digital Marketing however I have always wanted to work in a childcare environment which is why I love working at the nursery! I have a daughter who is currently in the Hatchling Space so it is lovely to see as a parent all the amazing work the practitioners do!


In my spare time, I like to go on days out with my family and take as many trips to Disneyland as I can fit!
