I just love The Nest. I don't have a bad word to say about it. I think anyone choosing a nursery would be hard placed to find somewhere where the ethos is so wholly focused on not just the wellbeing of the child but the nurturing and fulfillment of them as a person going forward. They do pottery every
week. With a potter. Who glazes all their pieces. You don't get that at nurseries 3x the cost. They learn yoga, Italian, drama, computing, gardening: nothing is too big a topic or too much to take on. Children are completely hands-on with every project. If they're too young then you still then get something one of the amazing teachers has helped put together so that you as a parent have a memory. The teachers are so warm, engaged, understanding and committed. They heat their lunch for them for goodness sake! They're just lovely, brilliant, ramshackle and chaotically excellent and I feel very lucky we found them and will be sending our third child there in the autumn. Thank you The Nest!

Lovely and inclusive place, my kid loves the time spent there and his teachers. Very nice childminders and great educators.
The kids there have become great friends to my son and he misses his school dearly when he’s on a break. Would recommend 100%.

We were drawn to the nursery by its arts focus. The staff are warm and welcoming and our daughter is enjoying her time there. She is gaining a lot from the planned activities. We would recommend this nursery to anyone.

Both of my daughters have been to The Nest and I am very sad to think it will be the end of our day to day involvement when our youngest goes to school this September. The girls have made lifelong friends I know, and so have we. We had the option of putting my youngest in the school nursery which would
have saved us an extra trip in the morning but The Nest is worth the extra drop off. It's a small, friendly and very warm nursery where the children learn real independence, are encouraged to be curious and to develop a wide range of skills. They maximise the use of the space with everything from vegetable gardens to playhouses and have frequent trips to the park (next door). I have been very impressed by how it has developed over the last few years and the dedication of the longstanding staff to continuous improvement. The Nest is at the heart of the community and we are incredibly lucky to have such a special place.

Both my daughters attend (have attended) The Nest Pre-School. As a parent, I could not be happier with the nursery. My girls have gone in smiling and left happy but tired after a few fun days of varied activities. Now at school, my eldest daughter constantly tells her little sister how lucky she is
to be going to The Nest Pre-School. Both girls have made very strong friendships from their time here as have I. The Nest Pre-School is a very special nursery and any child that goes there should feel incredibly lucky.

Great creative and caring preschool. All the staff are lovely and experienced. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, it was a pleasure to drop off and pick up our child, knowing that he was in safe hands, happy, confident and learning well. Thank you for these 2 years. We will remember them fondly.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.086)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.086) out of 10 for The Nest Pre-School CIC is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.911 for The Nest Pre-School CIC is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 45 Ratings = 4.911

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.175 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Nest Pre-School CIC is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 number of registered child places is 5. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.8

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
