La Maternelle Sandbach opened in March 2016 and is a high-quality day nursery and pre-school for children aged from birth to four-years-old. The nursery is situated in the ‘Newark’ building on Middlewich Road.

It has been renovated and refurbished to a high-standard to provide modern, stimulating and safe nursery and pre-school provision.

The nursery was awarded 'Oustanding' in all areas of care and education by Ofsted, during their inspection in January 2019.

The setting is family run and has a close-knit team of Early Years Teachers and Practitioners.

Whilst the nursery has a clear emphasis on educational learning through play, most of all the team want the children to be happy and have fun as they embark on their learning journeys. Each child is treated as unique and staff centre the learning around their individual interests and stages of development.

One of the nursery’s attributes is a strong family ethos, as the name La Maternelle derives from the French meaning ‘a homely place’. The nursery cares passionately about each child’s future and staff will develop positive partnerships with parents and carers.

La Maternelle have gone above and beyond in providing our daughter with a safe, caring and fun environment to learn and play. Her Key Person ensures she is happy and engaged all day, and we are kept up to date with all goings on.
Every member of staff genuinely cares about the children's wellbeing
and the range of activities keeps the children stimulated and entertained.

All the staff are very attentive and caring, I know my son will be well looked after when in the care of the nursery team.
I love getting pictures during the day so I know he's happy and what he's up to. It's very reassuring especially when he was new.

We’re so pleased with La Maternelle and the care they provide for our children. The staff are such an asset to the nursery. They are personable, professional, enthusiastic and show such a genuine interest and caring attitude to both of our children. We couldn’t ask for any more. We can clearly see the
benefits the nursery is having on our child’s development, and know they will be so well prepped for when they eventually start school. Handling of the pandemic has also been fantastic - and to see the staff have stayed so motivated and dedicated throughout speaks volumes.

My son is so happy at this nursery- he gets so much from the activities that the staff put on. He absolutely loves his support worker and we feel so comfortable leaving him there every day. He has really developed in speech and motor skills since attending. An excellent nursery.

Wonderful nursery with extremely kind and caring staff throughout age ranges. Brilliant communication throughout the week never leaving you in any doubt as to what activities and fun your child is having.

Having sent our first child to this nursery we knew we wanted to send our second child there too. The staff are very helpful and friendly and have ensured that our daughter settled in well despite a difficult start because of covid and not really being with anyone other than us. The setting has been
professional re covid rules too. It’s clean and modern and has access to outdoor play space. Our daughter’s key worker(s) have a wonderful relationship with her, and it’s lovely to know that she’s happy when we are at work.

Our daughter absolutely loves attending La Maternelle. The staff are so friendly and make it such a stress free experience. There is a good balance of learning and play. Our daughter always comes home excited to tell us about what she’s learnt that day. The communication is great between the staff and
parents and I feel confident that anything I say to the team is listened to. The only downside is the waiting list is a little long. I guess this could be seen as a positive thing though, as it means it is a great nursery in high demand.

My little boy loves coming into nursery. I was unsure how he would adapt (being a lockdown baby) but he feels so comfortable there, the girls are amazing, and so kind and caring. Would 100% recommend La Maternelle to others.

My son first joined La Maternelle when he was nine months old, when the nursery closed we made the hard decision of changing nursery when they moved to another location only due to distance. We moved back shortly after we came out of lockdown after seeing first hand what an exception nursery they really
are. Since moving back he’s slotted back as we’ve never been away. The staff are amazing and unbelievably supportive to both children and parents. It’s great to see what they are doing with the daily pictures/videos and comments and to be able to talk to them about what they will be doing the next week with the Friday updates. They’ve supported us through potty training and he’s developed some really special friends in the setting. We’ve got one final year at La Maternelle but I know we will all miss them greatly when we have to leave.

La Maternelle is a fantastic day nursery. I am so pleased with my little boy's progress so far, his key person is wonderful and I can tell he feels comfortable around her which makes such a difference as a parent knowing that your child is so happy at nursery. The rest of the team at La Maternelle are
always happy and really approachable. Couldn’t think of a better day nursery for my child to attend, and would highly recommend.

We have sent two children to the nursery and both absolutely loved it. The staff go above and beyond, whilst the kids receive a varied menu and have plenty of activities arranged for them. There is lots of space for outside play. We highly recommend for any parents considering which nursery to choose.

We love La Maternelle, both of my children have attended the nursery. After a terrible fire we decided to stick with them at the Nantwich setting and it was totally worth it. The staff are fantastic and we are always greeted with a friendly face! Both of my children have been happy here and always look
forward to nursery days, knowing how keen they are to go makes sending them a lot easier. The daily updates and pictures keep you informed and it’s lovely to see photos of what they are getting up to each day. Communication is really good too and we are just so pleased to see the nursery reopen again in Sandbach.

Having started my son at the Nantwich setting with the intention of moving him to Sandbach when it reopened the transition has been fantastic. My son still seems to have a lovely day. The staff have been great at keeping in touch with photographs throughout the day. He always seems happy to see his
key person or any member of the team. Each morning he is happy to attend, and always smiles when we talk about nursery at home. Management were great at keeping us informed about the upcoming changes before the reopening of the nursery, seeing a video really helped prepare us and our son for the change. My son really seems to be developing well at La Maternelle with his interests being followed in the activities that are offered. When we were worried about our sons behaviour at home this was dealt with in a professional and understanding manner by the staff.

A great nursery for my child and the best experience I’ve had as a father dealing with one too. I have full confidence and trust in all staff that my child has been with in all rooms from the moment they are dropped off in the morning. La Maternelle is quite simply a brilliant nursery. My daughter has come on so much since attending here. I can’t speak highly enough of all of the staff - they genuinely care and take a real interest in the development and happiness of the children. I feel they know and understand my daughter really
well, for example, I always agree on where they place her on the development milestones. Most importantly my daughter literally hops, skips and jumps into nursery every morning. She loves spending the day there with her friends and the staff and it means the world to know she’s so happy. The range of activities that they cover in a day is outstanding - genuinely really engaging and impressive. I also can’t speak highly enough of the management. The nursery runs really smoothly and their communication with parents is exceptional. The manager of the nursery knows each child really well and is really hands on, knowledgable and caring.

My son has been going to La Maternelle since Autumn 2018 and has loved every minute. He has developed so much thanks to the staff and the setting. I have no doubt that the nursery will have prepared him very well for school in September. I know he will miss everyone a lot when it's time to leave.

La Maternelle really are head and shoulders above other nurseries in the area. Before the pandemic, the setting was closed due to a very unfortunate event and they excelled in supporting families then again during the pandemic.
Our boys have only ever come home happy and excited to show or tell us
about their day. They make lots of friendships, learn new things every day, experience new things every day and demonstrate development steps directly because of La Maternelle.
They get the what and the how perfectly balanced in that the setting is progressive, engaging and safe whilst being supportive, caring and fun.

Becky has worked for La Maternelle since May 2010 and has over 8 years previous experience working with young children. Becky manages our Sandbach setting and is the age range leader for the 0-2 year old’s across our settings.
Becky has an Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Leisure Management and a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. Becky is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. She has also attended Makaton sign training and holds an accreditation in the Safeguarding of Children.


In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends and often visits the theatre as she has an interest in dance.


Jessica

Jessica Corlett

Job Title: Room Manager (Sunshine Room 0-2 years)

Joined: 2015

Jessica has worked at La Maternelle since September 2015. She is a Room Manager in our Sunshine Room (0-2 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and responsible for supporting children as they transition to the Rainbow Room.


Jessica has a degree in Psychology and is working towards her Level 3 Diploma for the children and young peoples workforce. Jessica is qualified in Paediatric First Aid and has attended basic safeguarding training.

Hannah Carter-Bloor

Job Title: Sunshine (0-2 years) Room Manager

Hannah has worked at La Maternelle since our Sandbach setting opened in March 2016. She is a Room Manager in our Sunshine Room (0-2 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and is responsible for settling and supporting the youngest of our children.


Hannah has a Level 2 Diploma for the Children and young peoples workforce and is currently working towards her Level 3 Diploma. Hannah is qualified in Paediatric First Aid and food Hygiene. Hannah has also attended basic safeguarding training.
