La Maternelle Sandbach opened in March 2016 and is a high-quality day nursery and pre-school for children aged from birth to four-years-old. The nursery is situated in the ‘Newark’ building on Middlewich Road.

It has been renovated and refurbished to a high-standard to provide modern, stimulating and safe nursery and pre-school provision.

The nursery was awarded 'Oustanding' in all areas of care and education by Ofsted, during their inspection in January 2019.

The setting is family run and has a close-knit team of Early Years Teachers and Practitioners.

Whilst the nursery has a clear emphasis on educational learning through play, most of all the team want the children to be happy and have fun as they embark on their learning journeys. Each child is treated as unique and staff centre the learning around their individual interests and stages of development.

One of the nursery’s attributes is a strong family ethos, as the name La Maternelle derives from the French meaning ‘a homely place’. The nursery cares passionately about each child’s future and staff will develop positive partnerships with parents and carers.

A wonderful nursery that my son has attended since he was 1 year old. The staff are fantastic, and the setting is lovely and really well equipped. Nothing to fault and would recommend La Maternelle to any parents that are looking for a nursery.

La Maternelle Sandbach has recently welcomed my son back into the fold after some time off over summer lockdown and the rebuilding process. When he attends it feels as if he is going to spend the day with family and I feel the same level of comfort as I would if he was spending the day with his grandparents.
I have been particularly impressed with their covid procedures in the nursery and the standard of care/attention my son receives is exemplary. Well done La Maternelle you always exceed my expectations.

My daughter is so happy coming to see all the ladies in the Sunshine Room. From day one we have always been made to feel welcome and reassured and I feel that my daughter has developed and grown so much. She just loves going to nursery and playing. I would highly recommend the team. I'm happy leaving
her there in such good hands.

Fantastic, well-run family nursery setting - very well organised and efficient. All the staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for your child and work with parents to ensure your child has an excellent experience. My son attended full time and absolutely loved it from day one. His day was well structured
with many different, interesting and educationally stimulating activities for him to participate in. I feel the nursery has really given him a head start in readiness for starting in reception class at primary school. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery.

My son loves going into nursery. Runs in happy and has settled really well. After having a bad experience at another nursery, I was nervous but the staff were brilliant and we had no issues. My son has been going since he was 9 months old and is now nearly 3 years and we've had no complaints.

La Maternelle Sandbach is a fantastic setting with very caring employees. My two year old has struggled with language delay and the setting has offered one-to-one and small group support to bring him on and it's definitely working. My son absolutely loves going to nursery and dances on the front step
and can't wait to spend the day at nursery, He loves all the food and activities and shows genuine happiness when we talk about the setting. Thank you so much.

I cannot rate La Maternelle as anything less than excellent. The staff are wonderful and so friendly and my daughter has developed into a happy, confident and outgoing little girl in her time there. We know she is being looked after well and being allowed to explore, learn and discover in a safe environment
that she loves and can’t wait to return to every day.

La Maternelle has been absolutely brilliant with our little girl who has some additional needs. They have been so supportive of her and us as a family and we know that she has lots of fun in a very safe and nurturing environment. The staff are wonderful, friendly and highly motivated and are always
happy to listen to any concerns we might have about our daughter and her development. We feel that they really encourage her to reach her full potential which is brilliant. I have recommended them to several local families and will continue to do so.

An amazing nursery, filled with wonderful and enthusiastic staff. Our little girl is doing so well there and is progressing so fast in her language and development and praise has to go to all the team. The staff really listen and take on board any comments we have to make and do their best to implement/accommodate
as many as they can.
Our little girl loves going there and gets so excited when we arrive which makes dropping her off so much better.
It is evident in the way that the staff talk about the children and the activities that they have done that day that they are extremely fond of the children, and really want them to enjoy their time there.
The management team have great organisation and are terrific at sorting out any queries that you may have promptly. One of the most important observations is that everyone always appears very happy and that shows just how nice a place it must be to work for and in turn for the children to go to.

La Maternelle was just good. The cleanliness was second to none and there was such a conscious effort in helping our precious one settle into nursery. They were very accommodating in every way especially the nursery manager and my son's key workers.
Gutted we had to relocate from Sandbach, it was
so difficult fitting our son into a new nursery, he kept wondering where his key worker was. La Maternelle set the bar so high we found it really difficult to appreciate any nursery in our new location.
Keep up the good work and if we ever have to return to Sandbach, we hope there will be a space for our new babies. But for now, we would keep telling everyone how good this nursery is.

We are so pleased with La Maternelle's. It's a lovely nursery, welcoming and always a lovely atmosphere. My little girl has settled so well. It's organised, friendly and clean. I would highly recommend. I wish I had sent my little boy but La Maternelle's in Sandbach wasn't here when my little boy attended
nursery.

What a fantastic nursery, full of outstanding staff. I was extremely nervous about my daughter starting nursery but the staff were amazing, both with myself and my daughter, settling in seemed a breeze.


Activities that are completed each day engage my daughter into learning through play. I receive

updates via tapestry online learning journal showing pure happiness and enjoyment.

My daughter loved it from our first visit and wouldn't leave. Beautiful and stimulating environment, outside provision is particularly good. Very healthy and varied meals. Staff very professional, friendly and welcoming. Great feedback including photos of child's development via tapestry.

Fantastic nursery with amazing staff. My little girl started here in April and absolutely loves it. The staff have not only been great at helping her settle in so quickly but also been so kind looking after an emotional first-time mummy. The communication of how she's getting on, what food she's been
trying, activities she's liked and photos for those all important memories has also been excellent.

La Maternell is a warm and welcoming nursery and the staff are all very friendly and can't do enough to help and support your little ones. There is always something different to do, and lots of choice when it comes to activities throughout the day. There is a wonderful outdoor space and all the rooms
are bright an airy. The online learning journal is always wonderfully updated which makes you feel like you get to be part of your little ones day. It really is a great nursery and we would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Our daughter started at the nursery when she was 9 months old. The settling in sessions ensured that when she started she settled in straight away, which was a relief! Since then, we have been very happy with all aspects of the nursery. The staff are very attentive and helpful, the facilities are wide
and varied for all ages, everything seems very clean and well maintained. We are delighted with the nursery and feel it provided an excellent childcare facility for our daughter.

La Maternelle Sandbach Day Nursery is a lovely nursery, my daughter is very happy here. I love the fact there is an online tapestry journal which you can see what the children have been doing in the day, that way I feel as though I'm not missing out on what she's been doing. It's very clean which I
like in a nursery. The staff are all excellent and always make us feel very welcome. I'm currently pregnant and will definitely be sending baby no2 to La Maternelle Sandbach Day Nursery aswell. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone who asks.

Rebecca

Rebecca Ellsum

Job Title: Setting Manager

Joined: 2009

Becky has worked for La Maternelle since May 2010 and has over 8 years previous experience working with young children. Becky manages our Sandbach setting and is the age range leader for the 0-2 year old’s across our settings.
Becky has an Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Leisure Management and a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. Becky is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. She has also attended Makaton sign training and holds an accreditation in the Safeguarding of Children.


In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends and often visits the theatre as she has an interest in dance.


Jessica

Jessica Corlett

Job Title: Room Manager (Sunshine Room 0-2 years)

Joined: 2015

Jessica has worked at La Maternelle since September 2015. She is a Room Manager in our Sunshine Room (0-2 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and responsible for supporting children as they transition to the Rainbow Room.


Jessica has a degree in Psychology and is working towards her Level 3 Diploma for the children and young peoples workforce. Jessica is qualified in Paediatric First Aid and has attended basic safeguarding training.


Jessica likes socialising with her friends and family going out for a meal or to watch a film.


Hannah

Hannah Carter-Bloor

Job Title: Sunshine (0-2 years) Room Manager

Joined: 2016

Hannah has worked at La Maternelle since our Sandbach setting opened in March 2016. She is a Room Manager in our Sunshine Room (0-2 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and is responsible for settling and supporting the youngest of our children.


Hannah has a Level 2 Diploma for the Children and young peoples workforce and is currently working towards her Level 3 Diploma. Hannah is qualified in Paediatric First Aid and food Hygiene. Hannah has also attended basic safeguarding training.


Hannah likes spending time with her family and likes to be out and about. Hannah really enjoys taking her dogs for big long walks.


Alice

Alice Williams

Job Title: Room Manager

Joined: 2016

Alice has worked at La Maternelle since March 2016 when our Sandbach Day Nursery opened. Alice is a Room Manager in our Star Room (3-4 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and supports the children who transition from the Rainbow Room.


Alice has a Level 3 Diploma for the children’s and young people’s workforce and is qualified in First Aid. Alice has also attended basic safeguarding training.


In her spare time Alice enjoys relaxing watching films and eating pizza!


Amy

Amy Roberts

Job Title: Room Manager

Joined: 2016

Amy has worked at La Maternelle since March 2016 when our Sandbach setting opened. She is a Room Manager in our Rainbow Room (2-3 years) at our Sandbach Day Nursery and is responsible for supporting the children who have transitioned from the Sunshine Room.


Amy has a Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s and young peoples workforce and is qualified in Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene. Amy has also attended basic Safeguarding training.


Amy likes to spend time with her partner and friends and also enjoys going shopping in her spare time.
