Banana Moon Day Nursery Caversham opened its door to the local community in October 2016. They care for children from the ages of 3 months to 5 years and provide a stimulating and safe environment.

The nursery offers three rooms, Baby Moons, Mini Moons and Full Moons and is fortunate to have a large building that helps to provide unique learning opportunities to children. They have a dedicated communications room where their children can listen to stories and where older children engage in learning phonics.

With Banana Moon's very experienced in house chef they provide healthy nutritious home cooked meals, ensuring all dietary requirements are taken into consideration. The nursery supports the highly qualified staff and promotes their continued learning and development through in house and borough led training to ensure they provide a consistently high level of service and care.

They take pride in getting involved in their community and support several local charities.

It is clear that the staff at Banana Moon love children.
My 3-year-old has been attending Banana Moon for 6 months but it feels like he’s been there forever. He has big emotions and finds it hard to adjust to new things and situations, so it took a little while for him to settle, but the staff always
welcomed him with big smiles and cuddles and I felt comfortable leaving him there from the start, especially as they would check in to let me know that he was happy and playing (usually with dinosaurs!).
The staff are really welcoming and helpful. My son’s room leader, she has been really communicative and I feel like she is really invested in and cares for him. Three members of staff have also been particularly great with him and he has really blossomed in their care. They do a huge range of interesting activities every day and my son is so happy and chatty when I collect him, I love hearing about his busy day and all the tasty food that he’s eaten.

We are very happy with Bananamoon. Our little girl started Baby Moons in September and the staff were so reassuring to help us adjust and settle in. Seeing her bonding with the staff, learning and growing has been wonderful, she has recently moved to Teenie Moons and is having a great time! The staff
are so caring and always ask how she is each morning and tell us about her day when we come to pick her up, they are also great at communicating if there is anything we need to know during the day. She happily walks in each morning and greets the staff with a hug, and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day! Thank you.

Our experience with Banana Moon Caversham is amazing. The staff is always willing to help, if they sense that you are worried about something they always take an extra step and are keeping you updated via the app. Our son has been enjoying the nursery very much, and every day is a fun day for him, along
with quite a lot of learning. Would most definitely recommend the nursery.

The team in the Baby and Teeny rooms at Banana Moon are lovely people who care deeply about the little ones in their care. Our little one has a brilliant time, eats well and comes home happy. We couldn't ask for more and would recommend them to anyone.

My daughter has been going to Banana Moon Caversham since September 2021, she wasn't even 2 at that time, but she settled in fairly quickly and now she is very excited to go there every morning. She has made loads of friends, she is now very bubbly, talks a lot, and learnt amazing things. They do many
activities daily which are helping with their development. So yes, I do recommend this nursery, was the best decision to register her here.

My son started the baby room this month and he has settled in so well, I'm so grateful to all the wonderful members of staff who have always made us all so welcome and have kept me up to date throughout the day of how my baby is.
Couldn't be happier with the service of the nursery and staff!
I also
have a son in the preschool room who started the nursery back when he was in the baby room and he absolutely loves the nursery too.

Our little one started in baby moons last month, and he absolutely loves going to nursery. A lot of fun activities are organised every day, and with the nice weather, they spend a lot of time outdoors in the garden. The staff is very approachable and responsive to our queries, and the extended hours
are essential for working parents.

It's good. Lots of fun activities for my son. He is more interactive and playful now. The carers are friendly, polite and cheerful. It has provided a positive impact on my son. They have lots of outdoor space for playing. They even take kids out to the fire stations or parks.

Couldn’t recommend Banana Moon Day Nursery Caversham enough, our little boy loves it there, can’t wait to get to nursery in the morning and he talks about it all evening. Since joining he has become so much more social and interacting with people, and his speech has improved dramatically. Everyone is
always friendly and helpful. We also love the app where we can see our child’s day from what they have been eating and sleeping and photos of all the activities they do. So glad we chose Banana Moon Day Nursery Caversham.

Our daughter has been with Banana Moon Day Nursery Caversham for over a year and has enjoyed every day spent there. They have allowed enough space for her to grow and learn whilst also providing excellent care and attention. The most noticeable part of our experience with Banana Moon is that all members
of staff treat us and our daughter like the most important one in the room and I’m sure other families feel this too. Even if the team member isn’t from the same room as our child, they know her and show the same care and attention as if they were her direct key worker. The rooms are all clean, bright and look exciting, the meals and snacks are well thought out and communication from the team to parents regarding upcoming events or changes is good. Overall, we would recommend Banana Moon Day Nursery Caversham.

Banana Moon has been a lovely nursery for our son. The managers are efficient and prompt at responding to any questions and the staff are always warm when we meet at handover.
Despite not being able to go in I feel I have a good understanding of what goes on due to the daily updates and photos we get.
I’m
very happy with their provision and most of all, our son is always happy to go to nursery.

We have had both are children at Banana Moon, each from 1 year old. It went through some teething issues a few years ago. However with new nursery management and retaining great staff, Banana Moon turned a corner, and have been fantastic for 2-3 years now. Staff stay, there is very little turnover,
which is healthy sign. As said the staff are positive, friendly, really supportive and passionate about the kids. The manager I'd say leads by example - she is brilliant. The nursery is very well organised, and update the parents on a daily basis. The space is very good. Much better than many crowded and cramped nurseries we have visited. Kids have plenty of space and room to sleep and rest. Their opening hours of 7:30am to 6:30pm are rare to find too. The kids have love/loved their time (one of them is now at school). They have developed well there. Our kids talk very fondly of the staff, and manager. Whats not to like about it? I'd recommend it.

My daughter has had a fantastic year at Banana Moon and will be very sad to say goodbye to the staff and her friends when she starts at school in September. She was made to feel very welcome from the beginning and after settling in, she has really come out of her shell and developed some wonderful connections
with her peers. I am so proud of the grown-up girl she is becoming and I would like to thank all the staff at Banana Moon for giving her such a great start to her education. My daughter has a huge interest in numbers and reading and I feel all the games and activities have inspired her to develop these skills.

My child joined Banana Moon Caversham in February 2021. As a baby born in lockdown, joining nursery was the first contact that he had with other children. The staff at Banana Moon have been understanding and caring and have done everything they can to help my son settle and enjoy his time at nursery.
He quickly got over tears at handover, which I credit to the friendly staff. The team is hardworking and amazing. I would recommend the nursery to others.

I sent my daughter to this nursery in 2017 when she was one and she stayed until she left for school. Whilst there have been some challenges, I have always been impressed by the passion and dedication of the staff towards the children. They work so hard and are always open to ways to improve the service.
Ultimately my daughter was happy, healthy and well looked after and as a result she's thriving and my five month old is starting full time in May.

My daughter has started here, following in her brother's footsteps and so far seems very happy. After being a typical 'lockdown baby' she was nervous around strangers, but the settling sessions completely did their job and she started her first day with no tears, open arms and a 'bye bye'! We were so
pleased! She's obviously feeling happy and secure and that's all we ask.

We've been really impressed with the level of communication we've received from the nursery team. I have two children at the nursery, both of whom attend full time and love their time there. The staff are professional but friendly and really care for the children. Activities are well organised, fun and educational. The children are encouraged to be independent, giving them the necessary skills to
move onto a school environment. There is also a very friendly feel, with parents and children treated very much as a community. My children are happy and confident and I feel that they are getting the best start in life which allows me the peace of mind to work without worry.

Our son joined Banana Moon nursery pre school during the first lockdown as a key worker child after another nursery we had been using closed. They welcomed and settled our son so quickly and he enjoyed Banana Moon so much that he stayed after the first lockdown ended and did not return to his old nursery.
He learnt a lot at his time at preschool and was so happy and spoke enthusiastically about the team.

I am a fully qualified Nursery Manager with over 15 years of experience in the Early Years sector. I have been with Banana Moon for 4 years since the Nursery opened back in 2016.


I qualified as a nursery nurse in 2009. I have lived and worked in Reading since leaving school and have worked in 2 Nursery settings at that time. I am a very dedicated individual to the companies I have worked for. I pride myself to ensure that the Nursery continues to improve and make positive changes to keep it fresh and exciting for the children, parents and staff.


Working together with parents is key to ensuring each individual child’s needs are met, and I find it so rewarding watching the children grow and develop in an environment I have helped to create with my team by my side.
