Partou King Street Day Nursery & Pre-school in Bristol city centre, provides exceptional care and education for children up to 5 years old.

The nursery on King Street provides a wide variety of educational experiences including cookery, dance and Forest School classes – led by qualified teachers and childcare practitioners.

The highly-qualified team prepares children for primary school using Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines. King Street Nursery educators put a strong emphasis on learning through play and tailor activities to children's individual interests and needs. Staff have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training and all have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Children at the nursery enjoy a varied seasonal menu filled with fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables – which can be altered to suit any special dietary requirements.

The converted property has been designed to be a cosy yet stimulating environment, with a Forest Room, soft play areas, the 'children's den' and a lovely terrace. Children often take snacks and books to Queen's Square, where they enjoy stories together under the trees.

Our child has been attending King St Nursery since he was 10 months old, he has recently turned four, without fail he enjoys his time spent with the staff and his friends at King Street. We have always been very pleased with the staff at the nursery, the relationships they build with the children do
seem excellent and our child has been developing really well both socially and with his practical skills.
The only criticism I could have of the nursery is something they are unable to do anything about. It would be great if they had more outdoor space on site (one of the pitfalls of being in the city centre!) but I do know they take the children out for regular walks in Queen Square and Castle Park which are very close by.

Lovely well run little nursery right in the centre of town.
The staff are always friendly and helpful and our little boy has thrived since joining the preschool downstairs.
Being in a city-centre location it lacks a large playground, however, this has never been a concern for us as the children get
plenty of outdoor play in the covered patio garden and also go on day trips from time to time.
They have a large range of books, educational toys and the brilliant key workers are always thinking of new and exciting activities for the children. Our little boy has a great circle of friends from nursery and enjoys going in to see them and the teachers, which is a huge improvement on this time last year. He has grown in confidence hugely and has developed his writing and drawing skills with encouragement from the staff. He will certainly miss it when he starts primary school in September, as will we.

I feel totally relaxed leaving my daughter in the hands of the staff at King Street Nursery. They seem like they care about the children, the food is better than what I eat and they have fun with all the activities. Well recommended.

We cannot fault Kings Street nursery. The staff and management are amazing and my son has gained so much from being there. They have a very structured and creative approach to activities and always seem to be doing different things each day that are relevant to things that are happening around the children
and make a real effort to understand the children and adapt activities to their interests outside of nursery too. I feel like my son's key worker knows him extremely well and is committed to helping him learn, play and behave better- I can't speak highly enough of her, she's such a positive influence on him.

The staff in this nursery are amazing, they are friendly, understanding and can build such great relationships with the children. I am always in communication with the team and they get to know every individual and their family so well. My daughter went to this nursery when it first opened and my son
followed a few years later. I didn’t look anywhere else because I knew how great this nursery is. The progress my son has made from his very first day is astonishing. I recommend this nursery to everyone!

Our son has been attending Abbeywood Tots for the last 18 months. We couldn’t ask for a better nursery and we are so grateful to all the staff for their hard work as they truly deserve the credit.
The nursery nurses are fantastic, caring and so kind not only to our son but to us as well! They always
take the time at the end of each day to give a helpful handover and to help with any questions we may have. Nothing is too much trouble for them!
Our son thoroughly enjoys his days at nursery and we are so pleased with his development. The staff are always thinking of activities for them to do and they seem to have lots of variety in the day.
The food and the mealtime set up is great (and has saved us so much hassle as parents by establishing a routine!). Our son eats well at nursery and has a good range of meals. In particular, our son has an egg allergy and the staff are so alert and conscientious of this on a daily basis so I never need to worry!
Keep up the incredible work!

Fantastic nursery with great facilities.
The staff are friendly, helpful and always welcoming. They are happy to help and answer any questions we have. They make my children feel safe and secure and my eldest has learnt so much.
The rooms are set up well with lots of toys, activities and space for
messy play. There is a small garden with plenty to do.
The food is good and my boys never come home hungry! Although it would be nice to see a bit more variety on a more regular basis.
Overall our experience with this nursery has been brilliant.

I am extremely pleased with the nursery so far. The staff are all so friendly and seem to have made every effort to make sure my son has settled in well, which he has since he started in November 2018. He is a fantastic eater at nursery which I can't say he is at home so either it must be that the food
there is extremely tasty or they have great ways to encourage his eating, or maybe a bit of both. The activities that they do sound very engaging and fun and I particularly like the fact that they have a garden there. It is lovely to hear a short report about his day when I collect him and I found that the staff make helpful suggestions to make sure he has the best nursery experience. Overall, I am very happy with our nursery experience and would recommend this nursery to others.

Our son has been at Abbeywood Tots since he was 9 months old and is now nearly 3. We absolutely love the nursery and couldn't recommend it enough. Our son only goes once a week, however, we still feel he is one of the 'family' and it feels like all the staff know him and are happy to see him when he
arrives. I have to give a shout out to the admin/management of the nursery which is second to none and no query is every too much trouble and always get such a speedy response. This nursery is definitely one of the best out there!

The staff here are great, they’re simply wonderful. My daughter has been going since 7 months and is now three. She loves it, they have so much fun and I like the observations they do and report back on her development. I know that when I come to take her when she’s ready to go to school, it’s going
to be with a heavy heart that she has to leave!

The staff make this nursery - They are brilliant! Friendly, caring and always willing to have a 5 minute chat about my daughters day. They do so many activities with the children each day and my daughter has developed so much since starting there. There are nurseries with more outside space and the
stairs may put some people off but I'm really glad we choose Abbeywood Tots. Highly recommended!

This nursery is amazing!


My daughter has been attending since she was 11 months old and she has thrived. I believe nursery has helped her gain confidence, independence and learn social skills needed to get by in life!


I find all the staff friendly, happy and always informative about my daughter's

day when I pick her up. I've seen my daughter give staff cuddles and she talks about them at home, which just confirms how happy my daughter is there.


I couldn't recommend this nursery enough!

Soup is often offered as a meal but a substitute should be offered to children that do not like it.

My daughter has developed and grown so much since she started at this nursery. The staff are very caring and help the children to push themselves to learn and develop.
