Shining Stars Nursery understands how important children’s pre-school years are and aims to provide an exceptional nursery education in a stimulating and caring environment.

Shining Stars Nursery is part of Wallace Fields Infant School, rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ in December 2021. The Nursery provision is led by two qualified teachers supported by a team of talented Assistant Teachers. Being part of a school means each child benefits from the support of school leaders and subject specialists including music and forest school sessions. It has large outdoor spaces and full use of the main school facilities including the school library bus!

Children can join Shining Stars Nursery from the term after their second birthday and continue through to the end of their pre school year. Wraparound care options are available to offer childcare from 7:30-18.00.

My son loves nursery. He was willing to attend the sessions from day two. (Day one he was a bit nervous). Staff are very friendly and there is no problem so far. I strongly recommend the nursery to all of my friends.

I cannot fault the care provided at this nursery. All the staff are caring and kind. The children take part in a wide range of activities and my daughter has learnt so much since she started attending a year ago.

Friendly and focused, the nursery is a happy and friendly environment. They've really encouraged my son's interest and friendships. He obviously has a lot of respect and affection for all the staff.

A fantastic nursery in lovely surroundings. Caring, supportive staff who really know each child as individuals. A great start to developing independence and making learning fun. We have been impressed by Shining Stars Nursery and would recommend it to other parents. In fact, my 2-year-old is now on
the waiting list to join when his sister starts reception.

A fantastic nursery in a great infant school (the best in the area). Our son has had an absolutely fantastic two years at Shining Stars and loved every minute of going in each day. The nursery classroom is bright, spacious and air-conditioned, and all of the teachers and teaching assistants are absolutely
invested in looking after the children and making sure they learn through play and are happy.


A big thank you to and her team for all they have done for our son over the last two years. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of nursery.


I couldn't recommend Shining Stars highly enough. But be sure to get your place reserved VERY early!

My daughter has been really happy at Shining Stars nursery. The staff are excellent, always enthusiastic and consistently provide a high level of care. There are many indoor and outdoor activities to encourage learning.

My son has been going to Shining Stars for two and a half terms. He has absolutely loved it and astonished us with how much he has learnt. He has started reading and writing within such a short time, made great friends and learnt lots of interesting things. The nursery staff have been really nurturing
and all the kids who go there are so happy. The staff are very knowledgeable and give useful tips on how to support your child more at home.

After the first meeting with the nursery manager last summer, my daughter couldn't wait to start at Shining Stars and has remained enthusiastic about attending every day since September. (Even wanting to go at weekends).
The staff knew her name from her first day and have always been very welcoming.
She has made friends and grown in confidence. She is absorbing so much information and loves to tell me some of the things she has learnt at the nursery. She is more persistent at fine motor skills than her siblings and the nursery has enabled her to use these skills at her own pace while encouraging her to progress in other areas, without her realising that she is learning.
She loves the home corner and outside play areas in particular, but there is so much choice of activity that all the children are happily occupied and supervised.

My children loved their time at Shining Stars Nursery. They were nurtured by caring staff who helped them through their worries and built their confidence. They learnt to value working in teams with other children and they learnt how to sit on a carpet and listen to stories. As a parent, I was always
sure my children were in an environment where their safety and development was at the centre of everything that staff did. If I had concerns, staff always listened and acted on anything necessary. They found time to follow through on any advice given by agencies to help the children.

Shining Stars Nursery was fantastic, my son absolutely loved it. Staff are so loving, friendly and my son just literally shined from going there, he was slow with his speech and they helped him so much, I am truly grateful, highly recommended, nursery manager is very good and professional. They set
him up so well for reception class and made learning so much fun.

My son hugely enjoyed his time at Shining Stars Nursery. He gained a lot of confidence and has learnt a great deal, including his letters and numbers. He is more than adequately prepared for life in reception. The staff were warm, kind, generous and fun. My son loved them all and was sad to leave.

My children love this nursery, never complain or said they haven't enjoyed it. I drop off and collect my kids for the past two years and honestly the staff works really hard to make it such a good nursery. Teachers are enthusiastic, welcome you with a smile, answer any queries and entertain kids whilst
they're developing. Maybe toilets could be cleaned more often after little monsters mess but overall it's a brilliant nursery!

Both my sons went to Shining Stars.
They always came back happy.
Very friendly teachers. Helpful and caring.
The staff work very hard with the children to achieve required goals in a friendly atmosphere.
Weekly newsletters help keep parents on board with what's going on in the school. The Manager
is always available to talk about any concerns.
Would highly recommend to any new parents looking for a home away from home for their little ones!

I started at Shining Stars in 2014 after completing my BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies. I then progressed to deputy manager before completing my Early Years Teacher Status and becoming lead Nursery Teacher.

I began my childcare qualification as a student in a private Day Nursery where I worked as an apprentice whilst completing my NVQ Levels 2 and 3. Once qualified I stayed as a Nursery Nurse, and then moved to work at another School for 2 years, before moving on to work here at Wallace Fields Infant School and Nursery. I joined the nursery team in September 2015 as an Assistant Teacher and am now the lead practitioner in Little Stars. I enjoy working at Wallace Fields Infant School & Nursery and helping the children learn, blossom & grow.

I started Shining Stars Nursery in 2021 whilst studying for my BA Honours in Education studies. I became Nursery Lead in 2022 whilst completing my Early Years teacher training at Kingston University and will be starting my first teaching position in September 2023. Prior to working at Shining Stars, I have been in childcare since 2012 and have also had the privilege of being a mummy at home looking after my own children who are now 9 and 7.
