The manager and the team at Wing nursery have been absolutely amazing at looking after my daughter since she started in July at the age of 11 months. It is a difficult time for any mum to go back to work full time but the whole team have made my daughter feel at home. The settling-in sessions were brilliant
at getting her used to the surroundings and new people and the nursery were really flexible in fitting these in and building them up so she got used to different activities during the day. Now she goes in with a beaming smile every day and loves to play, dance, paint and laugh. To find somewhere that genuinely cares for your daughter's happiness as well as their well-being is brilliant and so reassuring. My daughter, I know will continue to grow, develop and play with her friends and carers in the years ahead. Thank you.

Our daughter joined Ashbourne at 12 months old. We were naturally nervous about putting her into the nursery at such a young age, but we were very reassured by the care and support from all of the staff. Our daughter really excelled with her speech and gross motor skills. She had a really special bond
with the staff and she was never upset when we took her there. She always came home with a full tummy and some art and crafts. If our daughter was ever poorly, the nursery staff would make every effort to contact one of us and we knew that she was in good care until we could collect her. If we had not been moving abroad, our daughter would have remained at Ashbourne until she went to school.

My youngest son has been at this nursery since he was one. He has just left to start school. He has been so happy at this nursery. He has received excellent care from all staff who have cared for him with kindness, patience and understanding. He has experienced a whole range of activities such as forest
school ( making a drink out of blackberries they picked under close supervision), a music man, visiting a local care home to sing and interact with the residents as well as daily crafts, reading, writing, drawing, cooking, water play, outdoors play and learning all the time and of course playing with trains!
I highly recommend this nursery and my son and all my family are very pleased he spent so many happy years here and there was much sadness yesterday on his last day both from my son and my husband and I.
Thank you all so much for such exceptional care.

My little boy is leaving nursery today as he is starting reception next week. He has been almost full time at Little Acorns for over three years (he was almost one when he joined) and I have to say that he has received the best level of care I could have wished for. He has loved going to nursery every
day and has formed fantastic relationships with both the staff and the other children. The food is great and varied and in the early days, his allergies were catered for which can't have been easy. I would like to thank all of the staff for taking such amazing care of my boy, we will miss you all. I would wholeheartedly recommend Little Acorns to anyone looking for childcare in the area. A happy boy makes for a happy mummy and daddy!

Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Wing (formally Little Acorns) is a friendly and efficient environment and a good basis for a baby's development. My daughter has developed well at this nursery and has become a confident little toddler, learning new skills every day.

I already really liked this nursery a lot but today I turned up early to pick my son up and was blown away by how much fun all the kids were having out in the school playing fields at the back of the nursery, wandering around, watching the cows in the neighbouring field, kicking a ball, picking up sticks
and really enjoying the natural world around them. It reminded me of forest school! It was so lovely to see! I had to walk through the nurseries enclosed outdoor area to get to the fields and it was filled with fun, stimulating toys and games for them to play with. The fact that they can use the huge playing field area to run about in (at times) as well as the enclosed outdoor area is just amazing! No wonder he loves nursery!
The staff have also been so accommodating with us since day one. The food is healthy too. The indoor area is great too. There are always new, fun things for them to learn and explore. I can't recommend this nursery highly enough.

My little boy has been attending the nursery since he was 8 months old and absolutely loves it there, he's now 3. The staff are friendly and caring. They will also work with you if there is a concern with behaviour and report on how things are progressing. There is a whole range of activities to do
on a daily basis, whether it's outside/indoor play, messy exploring, forest school, all the music man who my little boy adores. The food is fresh and healthy and it's so tasty my little boy often has 2nd helpings. My little boy is thriving in the environment that the nursery creates, we love them here.

Little Acorns is a wonderful nursery it has helped my son come so far. He has learnt so much as well as social skills. The staff are polite and friendly and go out of their way to help in any way.
They helped me when we first moved here and took my daughter on with short notice before she started
school. Both my children love it there it really is one of the best nurseries around.

I can't thank Little Acorns and the staff there enough for the personal care they provide to my girls. My girls have come a long way from crying for me at drop off to saying the staff members are their best friends! The lovely ladies at Little Acorns go above and beyond what I ever expected and I'm
forever grateful for the love and attention they provide in my place. My girls are safe, happy and are learning wonderful magical things that they excitedly share with me on our way home :)
Thank you.

Current Review Score: 7.6 (7.617)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.6 (7.617) out of 10 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Wing is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.104 for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Wing is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.104

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.513 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Wing is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 number of registered child places is 11.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.4 = 0.263

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
