My son has come on leaps and bounds since joining Brabyns a year ago! I couldn’t recommend Brabyns enough, the learning environment, care and focus from his teachers and curriculum couldn’t be better for little ones to develop. I have made the perfect choice for my son’s nursery.

As a highly qualified & experienced retired early years teacher I can tell that the teaching & learning at Brabyns is exactly as it should be. My grandson now enjoys attending, although he was nervous in the early days. The staff know how to care for children who are sad when leaving Mum or Dad or other
carer & always send a message when the child has settled, which is comforting for parents, enabling them to get on happily with their day.
The teaching is differentiated according to need, ability & reports & comments made indicate staff know my grandson extremely well. His enjoyment at this nursery is undoubtedly derived from the breadth of activities provided; well-planned play, singing & dancing, artwork, foreign language, topics, literacy & numeracy activities & PE (& lots more!). Meals are enjoyable & nutritious & good behaviour is rewarded appropriately & with positive outcomes. My grandson is in caring, energetic & competent hands & most importantly he is happy at Brabyns!

We enrolled our daughter in January 2023 and since joining she has absolutely flourished. The school follow a proper curriculum which enhances the children’s learning instead of just providing child care. Every week there is a focus on something different, and it’s great to see my daughter’s knowledge
grow- she’s 3 years old and has picked up songs in Spanish! The teaching staff are amazing! You can tell they have a genuine love for all of the children. They are so friendly and welcoming and are always happy to have a chat about how your child is doing. They provide daily updates online so I am able to check what my daughter has been up to on a regular basis. I’m so glad to have found Brabyns, taking our daughter out of a regular nursery and sending her here was one of the best decisions we’ve made.

We enrolled our 2 boys into the nursery at Brabyns Preparatory School in February, and it has been the best decision we ever made.

Each day we get in-depth updates and photos about what our boys have been up to.

The structured sessions are a personal favourite of the boys! They love the outdoor

play area and always have lots to tell us about what they’ve been up to.

They get a fantastic variety of food each day with lots of fresh veggies and fruit which has really expanded the boys palates at home too.

Best of all is the staff, full of care and love. Nothing is too much of an ask and they go above and beyond each day to make sure the boys and us as parents have a great day.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff, we’re so glad we picked you!

My child has been at Brabyns Preparatory School for 8 months and she absolutely loves it! It's such a lovely and friendly place. Everything on offer is great, there is a lot going on to get involved with. The staff are attentive and really tailor their support to focus on my child's needs. Great communication

Our second daughter is beginning her time at Brabyns Preparatory Nursery following on from our first daughter who was involved in both Little Learners and Pre Prep. We would highly recommend the nursery. The environment is excellent and the nursery combines fun play with learning, helping to build the
children gently towards reception. Staff are experienced, innovative and proactive with amazing ideas to bring the little one's imaginations to life. The setting has wonderful views, a well-thought-through play area and is also near to a park which is often used for forest school activities. Being part of a wider school also helps utilise specialist teacher expertise with fun performing arts and Spanish drop-ins as examples that connect with the wider Brabyns team. Our first daughter loved her experience and started school life confident and well-prepared. Our second daughter absolutely loves the nursery and has settled in quickly and is enthusiastic about attending each morning.

Both my daughters have attended this nursery and thrived in the setting! The staff are caring, attentive and focused on building the foundations needed for children to succeed in later years. My children always came home with lots of exciting stories about all the fun activities they had done during

Brabyns prep has been absolutely amazing with my 2-year-old daughter. She's completely come out of her shell since she started. As a lockdown baby, she was very shy and unsure of others. However, she's extremely confident and happy to play and be around other people now without being shy. The teachers
are just so lovely and have the time to talk to you. Make effort with each individual and ensure a kind, loving nature is still given with education. The whole school and staff are really lovely and very understanding. I'm extremely grateful to all the staff for their support in bringing my daughter out of her shell.
Thanks, Brabyns.

Our daughters have both attended the nursery. The level of care, love and focus is amazing. The staff show a genuine passion for their development and regularly seek you out to discuss this. Constant pictures and videos via the app, which is great, not to mention an interest in their development at
home. The head of early years and kindergarten teacher and three other staff members, in particular, have all been fantastic. I would absolutely recommend the nursery.

We could not have hoped for our son to have had a more perfect, well-rounded experience. The environment and teaching schedule are marvellously holistic, engineered and adapted to fit in with the children's needs, interests and passions, and much more besides! The staff; gentle, and experienced have
given him a well-rounded start to his education, a wonderful budding confidence in his own abilities and a healthy curiosity of learning. When it became apparent that our son has some additional needs, the support offered by school and their SENCO but particularly two nursery teachers have been amazing. They reassured and supported us all, throughout the process. They know our son down to a tee and so was easy for them to understand our son's needs, and even offer some suggestions for us to try at home on top of recommending some brilliant specialists to refer him to. The speed and professionalism in which strategies were implemented and put in place are second to none.

We have been sending our child to Brabyns since September 2020 and have been extremely impressed so far - this isn't your average nursery - in particular,
+ Facilities and specialist teaching: As the nursery is attached to the primary school it can take advantage of all the facilities and specialist
teaching (e.g., Spanish, Music, Dance) This is a real bonus!
+ Staff: Each and every one of the staff: both within the classroom and out - really strive to get to know the child. This was evident right from before our child joined the school and has continued ever since.
+ Differentiation: As a result of knowing each child they always look for the appropriate learning opportunities for the child - stretching them or supporting them as required.
+ Communication: This is fantastic - there are multiple channels to ensure there is an active dialogue so that we as parents can continue to support the learning at home.
Overall we have been very pleased and highly recommend Brabyns to other parents.

My little boy has had such a lovely gentle start to his school life at Brabyns kindergarten under the care of exceptional staff.
He struggled leaving me at first, as he had never been to a nursery or childminder in the past, but the teachers persevered with such kindness and patience they very soon
won him over and he now loves it!
They have been outstanding with his food allergies too. I was astonished to be approached by the catering staff to have the opportunity to speak in more detail about this and his preferences.
I feel my little boy is very well cared for in a loving, family environment by dedicated staff who are so incredibly hard working. Queries are swiftly answered, along with a huge provision of resources and feedback to further support learning at home. Academically I'm very impressed too. The teachers enthuse him to learn and he is progressing well. The days are varied and fun and have the benefit of music/performing arts with a specialist teacher, which he loves.

Our daughter has attended Brabyns nursery for almost a year now since we moved to the area and she has thrived and grown so much during her time there. She is naturally quite shy but in recent months she has grown in confidence, likes to regularly chat about her friends and teachers and what she has
done at nursery. We have been nothing but impressed with Brabyns and look forward to sending our younger daughter in February.

Brabyns is a fantastic school and nursery with wonderful staff!
It has such a warm, friendly, family feel which was one of our primary reasons for choosing it. The staff really took the time to get to know our daughter and as such, she settled in really quickly.
The children have access to so many
lovely activities and our daughter is always so excited to go to “her school.” Communication is also fantastic and means we get a glimpse into the wonderful time she is having there.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anybody.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.891)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.891) out of 10 for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.991 for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 number of registered child places is 8.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
