At Little Pioneers St Edwards, they work together with parents to make sure that each child has the support they need by having close relationships with their parents and guardians. They have regular workshops, parents' evenings and forums.

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children from encouraging them to express their feelings to making a difference in the world. They have a ParentZone app which keeps parents/carers informed about life at nursery with photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They are big on safety and that's why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained. They are silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are also big on happy children so they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world.

Located on the outskirts of leafy Selly Park in Birmingham, Little Pioneers St Edwards provides high quality, innovative childcare for children up to the age of five. The nursery is set in a converted Victorian school with its own Forest School nearby.

Our 2 boys adore going here. The facilities and resources are brilliant and they get to do a wide variety of fun and engaging activities. What really makes it such a good place are the staff. They give so much time and effort to all the kids we can't thank them enough.

Our son has been attending First Steps Nursery in Selly Oak for three months now. He always has the best time, loves the staff members and chats with them all the time. Everyone is super lovely and friendly. They always keep us informed with his progress and send pictures of him enjoying the activities.
It feels like a home away from home, we feel very confident that he is in safe hands and is being given the opportunity to thrive amongst his fellow children and with the staff members. The setting is clean and bright and has some wonderful facilities on site. We are so happy we found First Steps!

The team are really engaging & nothing is ever to much trouble for them. My daughter has so much fun at St Edward's & I know she is being well cared for. She is always excited to tell me what she has been doing & who she has been learning with.

The baby rooms were very good and the staff got to know my child well. The toddler room is more chaotic the staff don't seem to know my child well, there is a lot of sickness and a few miscommunications. My child now is eager to get his coat on and leave, whereas before he would want to show me the
toys etc. We seem to be getting confusing emails from management regarding payments despite paying on time each month.

First Steps Children's Nursery is a special place to entrust your child's formative first years. I am amazed at the experience our children (and we as parents) have had there. The setting is beautiful, with masses of engaging outdoor space. Each room is spacious and beautifully set up, with dedicated
sensory areas for each age group. There is nothing cramped or crowded about the nursery, and every display is well thought out and put together. There's a separate building for pre-school, which creates the perfect atmosphere for transition into a school setting. Each day holds a variety of activities and I'm constantly amazed by the adventures my children have. The children can join in with footie, bugs, French lessons and, crucially, Forest School. All fantastic opportunities for learning through play but it's the staff that are the real selling point of the nursery. Every one of them loves and lives for the children they work with, and it shows in the care and pride they display every day.

This nursery is amazing and has completely exceeded my expectations. The staff are all friendly and all know my little girl even those who do not work directly with her. The activities and learning is varied and continually measured against the early year's criteria. I love receiving my monthly report.
The facilities are the best I've seen and the food is healthy and varied which offers a well-balanced diet. I cannot praise this nursery enough and have absolutely no doubt that my little girl is receiving the best start in her education and learning here. She is developing all the time thanks to the lovely staff here.

Having been with First Steps Nursery for almost 3 years I have found my child to be very happy in this environment with the staff being very supportive and family friendly at all times.


I have always felt very welcome here and so has my child, and I am always updated on my child's progress on a regular

basis.


First Steps has played a vital role in my child's early learning which will have a positive impact throughout growing up.

We couldn't be happier with First Steps nursery. Our little boy started in July 2016 aged one and from his first day he settled in which I put down to the amazing staff.


The rooms are really well equipped to entertain the little ones, the activities are so creative, the menu is delicious and my boy

seems to eat perfectly at the nursery. Feedback is given daily and the staff always make you feel welcome to ask questions or share concerns.


My little boy loves his nursery days so I can go to work without worrying about him.

My son has been attending First Steps Children's Nursery for about six months. Prior to this, he had never been cared for by anyone other than his parents. He has settled in well and now loves his time at nursery. The staff are like my son's family away from home and are clearly very close to each
other and all love their work. I can't recommend the nursery highly enough, they do so much more than I have time to do at home and my son's development has come on significantly since starting nursery. Also, the nursery chef deserves a special mention! My son is very fond of her and the lovely meals she makes!

My child has been attending First Steps Children's Nursery for 5 months and I am so thrilled with how well she is looked after. The staff are all so friendly, caring, competent and enthusiastic. It is always a pleasure speaking and dealing with them.


The facilities at the nursery are fantastic (outdoor

playground, hall, sensory room, outdoor classroom) and the children are kept very well occupied whether it is sunny and warm or wet and cold. The children do a range of fun activities and they all seem very happy and content.

My son started nursery just after his 2nd birthday. It was extremely hard for me to put him into a nursery. However, putting my child in First Steps Nursery is the best thing I have done for him and also for myself. His speech and behaviour has come on so well and he adores his teachers and friends.
I couldn't be happier for my son to go this Nursery. The staff are lovely, genuine people and I believe they really do care about my son and it's not just a 'job' I think they have a passion for what they do.
