Cotton Tails at Hagley provides nursery care and learning for children in a secure, high quality environment. The nursery consists of four age-appropriate rooms and a specially designed outdoor area where children are encouraged to explore and be active every day.

The nursery’s baby room provides a homely environment for a range of activities, where staff endeavour to foster physical development and early communication through the use of Makaton. The tinie room is a second under twos area focusing on supporting the children as they develop from babies into independent toddlers.

Children in the nursery room are encouraged to learn through play, and staff focus on extending language and vocabulary skills as well as social and emotional skills. The school room is for the oldest children and strives to foster independence to prepare them for compulsory education. Activities at Cotton Tails follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as set out by the Government.

Nappies and food (lunch, tea and snacks) are provided by the nursery, but parents are asked to provide their own formula milk for babies.

Our son has attended Cotton Tails for over 2 years now and thoroughly enjoys his time there. The staff are amazing and go out of their way on a daily basis to ensure that our son feels comfortable and content. I cannot give enough credit to the staff who work so incredibly hard. I go to work feeling
confident that our son is in safe hands, enjoying himself and learning so much! The manager does a great job and two staff members, in particular, have had a great bond with him.

This wonderful team of ladies have cared for our daughter for the last three years. They have provided a caring and nurturing environment for the children. My son (20months) absolutely loves going to nursery. The staff are so friendly and look after him so well. The rooms are big and very clean. There are lots of great toys and activities. The outside space is perfect for little ones. I would 100% recommend this nursery to anyone.

Since joining this nursery over a year ago, our son has flourished and grown to love Cotton Tails. All the staff are so welcoming to both parents and children. The nursery itself is a lovely clean, fresh and spacious environment, where children develop and learn well.

Our son had attended this nursery since he was ten months old (now two 2 years nine months) and is in his third room. The friendly, caring and professional staff have always done a great job and he has grown into a confident, bright and happy little boy who enjoys his nursery days! Despite taking a
while to settle at the start, the staff have always been supportive and reassuring. They put a great deal of effort into a variety of activities throughout the year that you can join and get involved in. It’s a lovely bright, clean and safe environment for him to learn, grow and play.

Our daughter moved to Cotton Tails from another nursery when she was 18 months old. We thought she’d have a really hard time adapting but we were wrong and she has continued to flourish. The staff are exceptional and really care about each of the children in the nursery, regardless of which room they’re
assigned to. As parents, we feel that the environment is welcoming, open and engaging for both us and our daughter and we wouldn’t change a thing.

I could not have asked for a better nursery for my child/soon to be children. The staff are amazing and genuinely care. They go above and beyond every day with regular family days and keep in touch sessions. The food is all home-cooked and the children love being there. I would not send my children

Our 1-year-old son started Cotton Tails in May 2019 and we have been extremely pleased so far with the care he has been given. He enjoys his days at nursery and the staff made his settling in days and week as comfortable as possible. He has formed a close bond with his keyworker and the staff genuinely
care about all the children and babies they look after. He is learning lots, loves the food and seems to love all the activities during the day. Overall, we are extremely happy we chose this nursery for our son.

Firstly I would like to say the room staff are kind and helpful and during my child's settling in session made him feel exceptionally welcome. Communication is very good via the parent app on phone, emails, newsletter and letters. The cleanliness at this nursery is of a very high standard. One of the
reasons I choose this nursery and they have a varied and good understanding of my child's development needs.

Our daughter has attended Cotton Tails since 2016 and has been through all 4 rooms. She loves going to nursery and we have always felt very confident and happy with the team. The settling in period was a smooth transition with great care and attention paid which has continued throughout especially when
transitioning to the next room. The rooms are clean, well designed, colourful, stimulating and engaging. Communication and management are very good and all staff are friendly, approachable, helpful and most importantly have a lovely relationship with the children. Our daughter has grown into a confident and bright little girl. She comes back cheerful, talking about her day, her friends and what she has learnt. She has been on organised outings to the park, library, farm etc. We have no hesitation in recommending this nursery and think it’s a haven to inspire little minds to develop and grow in a safe and stimulating environment. Well done and thank you for the peace of mind you give!

Superb! Professional, very well run nursery with a great team of staff.
Our little boy has been attending since his 1st birthday (now 2 1/2 years old) and he absolutely loves it. There are always lots of new and fun activities set up on a daily basis with added trips out to the nearby park and train
station.
Our son is thriving and developing well in all areas. The staff are very loving and nurturing towards the children and are understanding towards their individual needs.

Cotton Tails is a wonderful, friendly, small nursery that has helped our son to blossom into an intelligent, confident and kind young boy.
Staff are professional, well trained and work with children (and their parents) to get the best out of them. Staff know every child individually and adapt and
differentiate how to support them accordingly.
Every day is different and our son is stimulated, encouraged and reassured in whatever activity is offered. He adores the staff, naming them individually in how they have helped him each day.
The nursery is also excellent at offering parents the chance to get involved whether it be by attending "stay and play" sessions, parents evenings or nursery parties.
We could not have selected a better place for our son to attend and we would highly recommend Cotton Tails at Hagley to any parent looking for childcare for a little one of any young age.

My son thoroughly enjoys nursery and his confidence has improved massively. He’s creative play and imagination has developed and grown since he started along with other learning aspects such as numbers. The staff are fantastic and you can see they have a great working relationship amongst each other
and most importantly with the children. I would highly recommend Cotton Tails as it’s a lovely, happy and safe environment which my son and I will hugely miss when he starts primary school in September.

I cannot rate this nursery high enough, my daughter loves it here and so do we. If anyone is looking for a nursery for their child look no further, you will not find anywhere better for cleanliness, friendliness and the children’s happiness,

Our son only started at Cotton Tails in January 2018 when we moved to the area. In comparison to his former Nursery, Cotton Tails is purpose built, bright, airy, well furnished and resourced. We always find the staff friendly, helpful and professional and our son is so happy in their care and he seems
to have settled so quickly.


Our son loves the School room with the role play areas, there are dinosaurs, the staff are creative and undertake some lovely activities with the children.

Just started taking my son here and it’s an amazing place. Very bright, clean and stimulating. The outdoor area is brilliant and a very safe place for children to play. All the staff are great. My son attends Cotton Tails at Hagley and has been here since September. I looked around a number of nurseries in the area and nothing compared to here. It is a clean and welcoming environment which caught my eye from the off. The staff are always friendly and inform me on how my son's day has been
and what exciting activities he’s been involved in that day. Before my son started nursery, he was a very fussy eater and the staff have worked with him in this area and he now enjoys his meals and tries new things! I couldn’t thank the team enough they do a great job and this is shown from the love they give each and every child. I would definitely recommend Cotton Tails at Hagley.

After being unhappy and left feeling disheartened following an experience with another nursery, I found difficulty finding a nursery that I felt confident in. As soon as we visited cottontails we felt supported and was left reassured that they genuinely care and love the job that they do. My daughter
started with the nursery when she was 9 months old and loves being there! She is a very outgoing, confident little girl and I feel that the ladies at the nursery have played a big part in how well she is developing in her speech, walking and social skills. The staff are very welcoming and you feel that you are leaving your child with supportive and caring staff. They give you feedback on how your child's day has been and they provide good educational activities.
I can not praise this nursery enough for all they do for my child.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hi my name is Beth; I have worked for Cotton Tails Ltd since 2003. I began my journey into childcare at the age of 16. When I left school I wanted to work with children but I knew going to college full time was not the right path for me. I took a chance and wrote a letter to Happy Days - Quinton asking if they had a position for an Apprentice. They accepted my letter and offered me an interview, my luck was in and I was offered the job!


Being my first job I was a little nervous but after my first day I knew I had made the right decision and couldn’t wait to get back there. During this time, I gained so much knowledge and achieved so much experience. After I completed my NVQ2 I went to work at our sister nursery Cotton Tails – Northfield where I became a Room Leader for the School Room. Whilst working there I gained my NVQ3 and also more experience in higher roles such as Nursery Senior. In 2009 I became Deputy Manager, this was a great opportunity for me and helped me progress to where I am today. During my time at Cotton Tails - Northfield I was part of two OFSTED inspections and the team worked together to achieve ‘Outstanding’ both times.


In 2016 Cotton Tails at Hagley opened and I was transferred here to become Manger, and have also gained my NVQ3 in Management. This is an exciting challenge for me as I get to work with a new team of people, and be part of an incredible adventure, seeing the company grow. Over the years I have got to meet many amazing children and have been rewarded by watching their personalities grow from being young babies to big children ready for their next chapter at ‘Big School’.
