Huddersfield Grammar School is a wonderful institution. Set in beautiful woodland surroundings, a warm, kind and purposeful feel permeates the whole community. For young people, the school is a ‘home from home’.

Starting school is a key moment in both a child's and parents' life and the team at Huddersfield Grammar School work hard to make sure the process is as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Their main aim is to provide all children with the opportunity to be involved in a caring, challenging and supportive environment where their full potential may be realised. They believe that education at Huddersfield Grammar School is accessible, enjoyable and stimulating. Children should have a wide range of opportunities to use their unique talents to achieve individual success in a caring, well-ordered, and nurturing environment.

Offering a broad curriculum and a rich variety of experiences, children in the Kindergarten experience daily Literacy and Numeracy sessions, as well as specialist classes in Spanish, Forest School, Baking, Ballet, PE and swimming.

Places in the Nursery are available on a full-time basis, with the option of a part-time settling in period for 6 weeks. Provision is available Monday-Friday from 7.30am-5.30pm during term time (approx. 40 weeks of the year). A holiday club also operates outside of term time, which covers 6 weeks of the school holiday periods.

Huddersfield Grammar School is celebrating its third year in the Sunday Times Parent Power Best Schools Guide, which identifies the highest-achieving schools in the UK. The school is currently positioned 54th nationally, 9th in the North of England and 4th in Yorkshire.

The school is also thrilled to have won the 2019 ISA national award for 'Successful Change Management'.

My Granddaughter has attended Huddersfield Grammar School since September and she has blossomed into a lovely little girl. Her speech and her knowledge of phonics has come along so much. She can now write her own name and make sense of numbers. The teachers are amazing so caring, patient and passionate.
She
goes swimming, does ballet, forest school and the school continuously organizes events and activities for the children to get involved in. Couldn't recommend Huddersfield Grammar more.

Our youngest daughter is currently in Nursery at Hudderfield Grammar School Nursery and couldn't recommend it highly enough in all areas. Both of our girls (literally) run/skip into school every day: the staff provide a wonderfully warm, engaging, and stimulating environment. The curriculum is excellent
(PE, dance, swimming, baking, and educational trips are all included and take place during the school day), and there's a great balance of learning and fun provided.
Communication from the school and nursery staff is superb - they run loads of events for parents, from helping your child to read to Christmas performances.
Overall, we are delighted with the nursery (and school). Our girls are thriving and extremely happy there, and it's all down to the incredible staff and safe, positive learning environment.

Not only did he learn the foundations which has helped him further down the line, but the surroundings have made him happy. From Forest School, to swimming lessons, baking and dance, there

I have been extremely impressed with Huddersfield Grammar School Nursery, my 3 year old daughter attends the kindergarten there.
From the original open day and tour, admission process and now having started I have to say the whole process has been smooth sailing, nothing has been too much trouble.
My
daughter is thriving at this nursery, the staff are wonderful and my daughter settled in quickly. The kindergarten teaching staff are wonderful, they have developed a great rapport with the children already and this is evident with how much my daughter looks forward to going in.
They are very supportive of different cultures and beliefs, as vegans I have to say the meal choices are great and they provide an oat milk for her in the morning.
The range of teaching here is admirable, from forest school to dance and the basics of reading and writing the standards are high.
We are so glad we chose this setting for our daughter and look forward to her growing up in this school.

The nursery works to a really high standard of education and child development. Children are encouraged to be independent learners and explorers. The schools ethos of the whole child is whole point shines through.

Excellent Kindergarten both my children have attended. I would recommend Huddersfield Grammar School Kindergarten to anyone. Both my children have thrived. My son especially likes the forest school area where he can explore the outdoors.

Our 3-year-old daughter recently started Kindergarten at Huddersfield Grammar School at the start of the summer term on a part-time basis and will be continuing here for another year until she starts reception.
She is our third child to attend this setting and she absolutely loves it; we would recommend
it to anyone considering it as a potential setting for their child.
The staff are welcoming and warm and the environment is nurturing and friendly. We think they have the balance just right; an educational environment with a heavy focus on play and fun. We're very impressed with the extracurricular activities on offer, and the fact that our child partakes in swimming, baking and forest school there is fantastic!

My eldest has already been through Kindergarten at Huddersfield Grammar School and flourished academically and socially. He is now in year 1 and working at greater depth across the curriculum in part thanks to the excellent start he had in Kindergarten. My daughter is currently in Kindergarten and has
settled well because of the high staff-to-child ratio and the love and care the staff provide. She rushes in every morning eager to see her teachers and the other children. Huddersfield Grammar School provides just the right balance of play and focuses on developing key skills to prepare children for the move up to Reception class. It’s a warm, welcoming kindergarten which provides children with so many excellent experiences in and out of the classroom environment. As parents, our voices are heard and we are welcomed into the setting regularly, providing us with ample opportunities to feel part of the Kindergarten community at Huddersfield Grammar School and be fully included in our child’s learning and development. We wouldn’t send our children anywhere else!

Our son joined Kindergarten earlier this year. The level of professionalism and support for our child was beyond our expectations. At home time our son is happy, a clear indication that he has enjoyed himself immensely. The staff are loving, supportive and extremely passionate about their roles in our

After completing his first term at Huddersfield Grammar School Kindergarten I am extremely happy with my son's progress. The nursery teachers are amazing, very helpful and caring. He has established a strong bond with his teacher and made some lovely friends. I am pleased to say he is always excited
about going into school and playing with his friends.
The school has a fantastic play area outside and a very bright and colourful classroom filled with lots of work from the children. I do highly recommend the school.

Our Son has been with Huddersfield Grammar School since Easter 2019. He has been at Huddersfield Grammar School in Kindergarten and has continued into Reception.
We have found Huddersfield Grammar School to be truly outstanding in all aspects of his care, education and wellbeing.
The education provided
is second to none, the school definitely deserves its place in the newspaper Top 100.
Care and wellbeing are also up there in line with his education. He suffers from eczema, and we cannot fault the care that he has received in dealing with this condition, the staff and school at large have supported us throughout the process of helping him with his eczema.
The teachers in Kindergarten and now Reception are exceptional, he has always been able to bond with them all. They are all very friendly and approachable, to both pupils and parents alike.
We cannot recommend this school enough. Our son is happy, we are happy.

The kindergarten staff at Huddersfield Grammar School are extremely dedicated and have passionately cared holistically for the overall well-being of my child. The curriculum on offer has extensively allowed my child to develop in multiple aspects not offered in other standard nurseries such as timetabled
lessons in forest school, ballet, Spanish, P.E. etc. My child has really flourished as a whole and I couldn't be more satisfied with the standard of teaching, care, facilities and surroundings.
