Children in the EYFS make excellent progress from their starting points and typically leave the Reception year having fulfilled at least age-related expectations, with the minority of children exceeding these due to the effective teaching that they receive. In the current academic year the majority of children in EYFS have exceeded age-related expectations.” ISI Inspection report 2019.

At Christopher's School & Nursery, staff ensure children are nurtured in terms of their physical, intellectual, emotional, social development and well being.

Children are helped to think critically and ask questions. The children are encouraged to respect themselves and others, so they will grow into independent and confident adults.

At St. Christopher’s, staff will endeavour to support children’s own interests. For example, if children pretend to be fire-fighters in their play, staff may explore a topic about people who help others.

Staff encourage children to learn to cooperate with others (e.g. share toys and equipment, play together and make things) and share their experiences with them.

The team is confident you will appreciate their nursery school, its setting and facilities. Should you wish to visit, they are available at any time to meet with you. Any comments or input from parents are always welcome.

We are very pleased with the care provided to our child at St. Christopher's Nursery. The staff is welcoming and friendly. My son feels very comfortable and happy in the environment provided by the staff.
The nursery is bright and large and the toys, books and other accessories are easily accessible
to the children. My son looks forward to going to the nursery. I have noticed his confidence and vocabulary grow during his time here. Thank you for providing a great learning, safe and nurturing space for kids.

A huge thank you to St. Christopher's Nursery for the incredible care they've provided for our daughter. After a difficult experience at a previous nursery, we've been very impressed since joining St. Christopher's in July. Our daughter absolutely loves attending, is always cheerful, and thriving (and
loves the food!). The teachers are exceptional, so caring, attentive, and dedicated. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend this nursery to other parents.

My son absolutely loves going to this nursery (he used to go elsewhere for two years and still used to cry to go in at the other place). At St Christopher's, he always walks in with a huge smile on his face and comes out happily. The nursery space is large and well laid out. They have a huge glass window
with access to the garden, and the children are actively encouraged to spend time outdoors. They have a chef who cooks fresh, nutritious food daily, and my son absolutely loves the food. The teachers genuinely care about the children and their progress. At collection, they give a breakdown of the day and encourage activities to do at home to build up the individual child's skills. I could not find a better nursery for my son. Very happy here.

Our son has been attending the nursery at St Christophers from the age of two, and in those eight months, he's come on leaps and bounds. He loves it there; he's made friends with the other children, the teachers and even the chef. The kids get to do a lot of varied activities, including lots of physical
play and learning. As parents, we get fun daily updates, so we're always in the loop, and we can see the faces of the children and how much fun they are having every day.

My daughter is there and loves it. She has developed so much. She loves going, and honestly, when l pick her up, she wants to even stay longer. For me, that is a very good sign. One does not need any more validation than that. The staff are amazing too.

Our little girl has improved her communication leaps and bounds. After going to the Nursery for the last 1 year - she is more communicative than we ever thought she'd be. The Nursery teachers are great with their temperament, care and approach towards the little ones.

My son loves the nursery. We were new to the country but the staff gave so much warmth that he got comfortable very quickly. Hats off to all the staff. My 3 and a half year old loves them. I am really happy with the focus on each child with respect to all the activities.

I found out about this nursery and school through my friends who spoke highly of the reception class teacher. I did my own research by reading their inspection report (which said that they received excellence in all areas), looking through their website and decided to give them a call. It was so nice
to talk to the head of the early years. She did a virtual tour and talked about the curriculum for nursery and reception. The classrooms are so beautifully set up and decorated. The children's work is displayed with pride and the head of early years spoke very highly about the children which made me feel at ease knowing that my child will learn so much. This isn't a typical nursery, the staff teach the children who are led beautifully by their head of early years. My child has learnt so much in a short span of time. I am really impressed with the way skills are taught, how home learning is set and how independence is taught at an early stage. Thank you!

My three-year-old daughter has been going to St Christopher's since September 2019. She totally loves it there and started recognising her own name and calling her friend's names right after she started nursery. I have seen a significant change in her with regard to being independent, eating own food
using spoon and fork, wearing clothes and even using the loo! The nursery also works towards the gross and motor skills of the children and learning is not limited to books and pencils. Reading and telling stories, sports activity, cooking lessons - I see a thorough build of character is sought by the administration. Thanks to the wonderful nursery teachers, they are always there to help and communicate.

Reply from Jaya Bhadresa, Head of EYFS at St Christopher's School & Nursery

Thank you so much for the positive comments. We shall continue to work alongside you to develop her pastoral and academic knowledge. Thank you once again. The EYFS team.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.250)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.250) out of 10 for St Christopher's School & Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for St Christopher's School & Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Christopher's School & Nursery is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 15 number of registered child places is 3, which has been reached with 3 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
