The Old Station Nursery Oxford, located at the heart of Oxford Science Park, caters to local families, as well as those who work within the grounds. It is ideal for working families, with easy access to the offices at the park and convenient transport links via local buses or footpaths. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The nursery building is spacious, with a bright interior and a beautiful outdoor play area. It comprises of three distinct rooms, each designed to support the developmental needs of children in different age groups.

The qualified and passionate nursery team is committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages the growth and development of every child.

For children under two years, a secure and comfortable room is offered, with soft play equipment, mirrors, musical instruments, and other educational toys to facilitate exploration and learning. Activities are tailored to the individual needs, interests and abilities of each child. Toddlers can progress to a slightly more structured room with age-appropriate resources, such as books, painting materials and a 'home corner' play area.

As children approach Pre-School age, they advance to a dedicated room where the team help them to prepare for primary school. The nursery has established relationships with local schools to facilitate a smooth transition for children and parents alike. The recent implementation of the 'Brighter Learning Approach', supports in school preparation, enriching the core curriculum provision by encouraging natural curiosity and cultivating key skills, knowledge, and attitudes that promote lifelong success and happiness.

We have had two children come to The Old Station Nursery past and present, and they have both loved it. Both of our children have fitted in so well to the warm, friendly and caring environment that the team provide every day and always come home saying they’ve had the best day. All the staff there have
been so welcoming and do such a fantastic job. I couldn’t be happier with the service we have received and really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making everyday fun and full of great learning experiences.

My son spent three months in the baby room and was very well looked after by the team, especially the team leader, who treated my son extremely well and he looked forward to going to the nursery every day and didn’t give me a second look on his way in every morning! My son then moved to the toddler
room where he is having an equally lovely time doing arts and crafts and enjoying all the activities that the team provide.

My daughter has been coming to the nursery since she was 5-months-old. It has been like a second home to her; she adores all the staff who work there and has been lots of friendships and good connections with her key persons.
The staff go above and beyond and make it a lovely homely place for her
to attend, which makes me ease knowing she is happy and safe.
As she will be going into her final year in the preschool room, I know the staff there will settle her in well and get her ready for starting school in 2022.
The activities and learning they thoughtfully put into everyday nursery life, my child comes home telling me all the things she has learnt and explored!

Excellent nursery! The carers are lovely, approachable, professional, and genuinely care about our child’s well being and development. They regularly send us photos and give detailed daily updates. Our child bonded very well with them.

This is an amazing nursery. My daughter has settled in so well that she can't wait to go every day. She has bonded with her key person, and I can see how her social skills have been developing. The children are involved in a variety of activities, including math, art and exercise. It is a relief to
see your child being happy in an environment outside your home.

I am very satisfied with the care my son receives at this nursery. The staff are genuinely very fond of the children and interested in the children’s development.
The staff seem to enjoy their jobs and I am particularly impressed by their attention to detail. The nursery staff are always friendly,
polite and are happy to take time to detail your child’s day. They can always tell me exactly what my son ate, played with, how long he slept for, which clothes needed changing and so forth. This always impresses me and gives me confidence in leaving him there. I also enjoy looking at the photos of my son they post on their app so I can see in real-time while he is there what he is up to. The photos always make me smile and give me an insight into his day.
When I pick him up, sometimes he is enjoying a cuddle with one of the team, which is always nice to see and it seems he would be quite happy to stay there longer. Thanks again for all the great care you give my son.

I just wanted to write to say thank you. My daughter has been attending nursery since January 2020. She is settled and happy and that's because of the wonderful caring staff, providing a safe and nurturing environment in the nursery. I've found that all staff are warm and friendly and encourage the
children. My daughter has made lots of friends and enjoys seeing the staff and talking to them. I feel able to go to work knowing that she is safe, happy, and well cared for. Every problem they or we have had or concern, they have always been addressed in a professional manner. Overall, very happy with the nursery and their standards and each and every member of staff.

The manager and her team demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the wellbeing of the children in their care. My daughter started this nursery in May 2019 after having a terrible experience at her previous nursery. I can honestly not fault this nursery, they have been fantastic from the moment I contacted them. The manager, her key worker and all the other staff are amazing and my daughter absolutely loves
them and tells me this all the time. She has grown in confidence since attending this nursery and enjoys herself so much it's a struggle to get her to leave each day.

My little boy started at The Old Station Nursery just before his 1st birthday, and we have been very happy with how he has got on there. In this last year, we have seen him gain confidence and develop into a communicative little toddler. The nursery/baby room has a very friendly and calm atmosphere,
and I felt that the carers there were experienced and attentive to the children. When my son was very young, they were very accommodating with his routine for naps and mealtimes. They did a range of activities each day, and the outside play area was great. My little boy really loved his key worker, and she gave us lots of updates on the app, photos, comments and video, which I found invaluable. This also meant that on the days and weekends he was with us, we could continue some of the activities and books he had been doing at nursery.

My son moved to this nursery in August 2019 and has settled in extremely well. The staff always go above and beyond and are fantastic with the children as well as with the parents. I was very impressed with the quality of the facilities, the outdoor space, the development and learning implemented. My
son although only 1 has already made friends, grown in confidence and adores his key workers who we (his parents) have a good and trusted relationship with.

This nursery has been absolutely wonderful, the staff are friendly and have made my child grow in so many ways. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a nursery where their child would be happy and learn so much.

My daughters (4 and 1) have had a wonderful experience at The Old Station and have thrived in the happy, safe, stimulating environment. The rooms and facilities are excellent, especially the outdoor space which has evolved throughout the year to include more learning and playing opportunities for the
children. The staff in the preschool and baby room have been so supportive to our family and cared so well for the children. Very much recommended!

A welcoming setting where my child is happy and settled. The staff are friendly and professional and I have no concerns about leaving my child.
I appreciate being kept well up to date on his learning and all the activities they do. The food menu is varied and they encourage the children to eat new
foods and cut their food and use cutlery.
I'm glad this nursery was recommended to us!

Hello, I'm Charlotte and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Oxford. I am qualified BA Hons in Early Years.


We have a really friendly team here in Oxford and enjoy following the children’s interests in all that we do. We are really convenient for parents who work on the Park, but we also welcome all local families
