As a family, we absolutely love this nursery. Our daughter started when she had just turned 1 and is now 18 months. She was very uneasy about leaving me to begin with but now she adores her two mornings a week and we hope to increase this over the next few months.

Fantastic environment for children to grow in. The staff are all very caring and have great activities planned every day. They also take into account child's interests and try to build on them. Lots of outside play too.

Always feel completely at ease leaving my little boy even in the beginning, now

he is excited on nursery days and can't wait to get there.
Food is great too sometimes would not mind lunch there myself.

Having moved to a new area in January we were very anxious about making the right decisions. The team and Jemima House Day Nursery have been amazing. They made my daughter feel welcome and she has made great new friends. I am very pleased with the weekly emails I receive to let me know what is happening
and also the feedback I receive when I collect my child from her care worker is in depth and thorough. All in all, a very organised a professional and kind team.

I am so impressed with Jemima House Day Nursery. The nursery staff are warm and welcoming, my children are always happy to go. My eldest (age 4) is making good friends and great progress with his writing and number skills and my youngest (18 months) has so much fun exploring the environment and what
he can do through the great activities the nursery provide. The nursery always keeps us up to date with what the children are doing and I always feel welcome too. I spend as much time as I need to drop off or pick them up. It feels like a small family and this is reflected in how the children respond to the adults and treat each other with the attitude of always helping each other when possible. I absolutely recommend this nursery.

My son loves this nursery as do we. The staff are great, friendly and more importantly great with the kids. The nursery is large, clean and has all the toys, books and fun things a child needs and wants. My son has progressed so much in the short time he has been there. Would highly recommend.

This is a fabulous pre-school for my 3 year old. He is in the care of some wonderful carers that are fully qualified. We have seen tremendous growth in our son at this new start of the art pre-school. Staff are great and the primary school lunches are fantastic. We are so pleased that we chose Jemima
House or our little one.

This nursery has exceeded mine and my husband's expectations! Our daughter is loving every minute and that is thanks to the wonderful ladies that work here! She can take a while to warm to people and adapt to change, but they have taken on board everything we mentioned from our previous bad experience
and have made everything positive! From giving her smaller portions so it's not so daunting to eat to cutting her tea time sandwiches into funny shapes to encourage her to eat them! I have been so impressed with everything, she comes home with something she has made every week and is always so excited to tell us what she has been doing. I feel confident leaving our daughter here and don't worry about if she is okay all day like I did previously. Not only are the ladies that look after our daughter brilliant, so are the owners, they genuinely care for each child. It is, without a doubt, the best nursery in the area.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.465)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.465) out of 10 for Jemima House Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.896 for Jemima House Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.896

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.569 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Jemima House Day Nursery is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 number of registered child places is 10.4. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.4 = 0.769

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
