All my kids have passed through this nursery... they absolutely love to go in ... even the older ones who have graduated from the nursery! Much like a second home for the kids. They feel safe and meet friends which they cherish. Thank you, so grateful.

Excellent nursery! I have seen my child grow from a baby to a chatty, confident toddler who loves going to the nursery. They teach them language, numeracy and problem-solving but also encourage free play inside and outside.
The in-house chef also prepares tasty meals, my child always comes home full!
Clear
communication from the management team if there are any issues.

My son (and previously my daughters) is very happy at Busy Bees. All the staff are so kind and caring and have really got to know him over the years. Love that the children get outside lots, rain or shine, and great meals.

We have had a very positive experience over the past two years, my child is always happy to go into nursery and generally has very good days and is happy and excited to tell me all about her day at pickup. The staff have been fully supportive with all developmental phases including weaning and potty
training and dropping naps. I love how much outdoor space there is, and how the children are encouraged to go outside and play. My child eats really well at nursery.
Unfortunately staff turnover has been a slight issue, with little notice (not knowing a key worker is leaving until they’ve actually finished) otherwise all positive!

I am so happy with choosing Busy Bees because my daughter's development has come on leaps and bounds due to the nursery. There are phrases like stop fighting that she uses that we have not taught her. I can see how much develops at nursery with her social skills and many other aspects.

From the moment we walked into Busy Bees nursery, we were impressed by the staff and structure in place. We value the children's progression through nursery being focused towards preparing them for school and the staff are so good at putting the kids at ease.
The various outdoor spaces are lovely and
well-equipped - our wee boy loves sitting in the sun and watching the cars go by!

The process of welcoming my grandson into Busy Bees made the transition from his previous nursery very easy. The staff are always very welcoming and the children are relaxed and well behaved. Every day there are stimulating activities which my grandson loves. The fact we an follow this on the app is
very helpful. The children spend a lot of time in the garden playing and getting lots of fresh air. We are very happy with Busy Bees. My grandson's confidence and use of language has improved significantly in the short time he has been there. He is always busy and he loves it.

My first child attended this nursery in 2013-2017 and the care was outstanding. It was no surprise and with no hesitation that I would put my second child there. My second child now goes to Busy Bees West and I can honestly say the care again is the best. We joined the nursery in Covid times. The manager
is very accomodating, very approachable and shows care and compassion not only to your child but parents too. I often see her in the room/garden playing and interacting with the children which is lovely to see. The staff in the room that care for my child are the best. Warm, engaging, informative, caring - the list can go on. The learning and facilities are great and the new app lets you see your child's day. I can go to work knowing my child is loved and safe by everyone in that nursery. Oh, and the food is amazing!

My older child attended this nursery for four years and, while in the younger rooms, I was happy with the level of care. Recently, I have removed both my children from this setting as I was so unhappy with the level of care received. I felt no attention at all was being paid to nurturing the development
of the child. At pick up, it was difficult to get most staff to give any more information about the day than what the child had eaten. Very few activities seemed to be set up to support learning (none were being reported to us) and no anecdotes were being shared about things my child had done/said (in contrast to what had happened in the younger rooms). An online system was set up to share photos/details of the child's day, but it was rarely updated (weeks or up to a month would go by with nothing). When I received my child's learning journal when they left (after repeatedly asking for it), it only contained observations and learning support plans for one of the four years they attended.

Hi Fiona, we are sorry to hear that you are not happy with your experience at our Dundee West nursery. Please be assured that concerns raised are investigated internally and areas for improvement are identified.
It has been difficult to ensure a long hand over in the evenings as parents have been unable to enter the base rooms and understand this has meant you've not seen the wonderful activities the children have been doing - to solve this, we now have more display boards at the entrances.
Thank you.

My child attended this nursery for 4 years, the level of care given by staff and management was great. The activities for my child were stimulating and focused on her learning. The staff had good feedback at end of the night about my child's day. Good use of outdoor space, she was out in all weathers,
the way it should be.

Busy Bees has just had a massive refurbishment. The disruption was kept to a minimum for the children. The benefits are amazing. The children are loving their new space and toilets. The staff worked extra hard during this time to keep everything running smoothly. Well done to the manager and everyone
involved in managing it.

As a new mother, I was extremely anxious about placing my daughter in Nursery as I returned to work. Having viewed a total of 5 Nurseries in Dundee, It was the initial feel of the place, the helpfulness of the staff and the positive inspection report that drew me to choosing this Nursery in the end.
She has been there for a few months now and I could not rate the Nursery highly enough. Based in the Koala room, the Senior room Manager is both highly competent and approachable; my daughter seemed to build a relationship with her very quickly which gave me so much confidence that she was settling in well. Her key worker is also very approachable and is genuinely interested in how my daughter is doing when I drop her off. Her key worker had completed my Child’s plan in a matter of days which I found both very helpful and reassuring. Overall, my experience with this Nursery has been extremely positive and I know she is getting the level of care that I would want for her.

My child has only had 5 sessions with the nursery and has settled in so well. The staff are lovely and friendly and keep you well informed on their daily activities.
The food is excellent as the children are served a variety of meals.
I would highly recommend this nursery to friends and family.

My child had a smooth transition into this new nursery. He is looking forward to go back to nursery every day and always tells you nice adventures he went into. They encourage artwork. Plenty of safe outdoor spaces for them to make the most of any weather.

Teddy bear nursery is genuinely fantastic. They are regularly updating activities to benefit the children and are so child focussed. My little boy loves it here and all the staff know him by name and show a genuine interest in his development and emotions. I get a thorough description of his day on
arrival and have been made aware of care plans and goals that they hold for him. I feel so safe and secure knowing he’s here when I am at work. The staff are fantastic and are so keen.

My daughter started in the baby room at 10 months, she then moved into the Panda room, her key worker here has been amazing and is spoken about every day at home. She is now 2 and about to embark on her next adventure in Teddy's. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. All staff are so friendly and
excellent, I barely get a wave goodbye in the mornings as she is so happy to see all the girls. The care given is second to none. Thank you so much for making nursery life a happy and enjoyable time for her.

My child went in for settling in days and I was not happy with the room they were to be in. I contacted the manager the next day and my concerns were dealt with satisfactorily. My child is very happy there and the staff are great. They get a great variety of food. I like how they are always keen on
getting the kids outside too. The only negative comment would be when you phone up you often get the answer phone and have to wait until someone calls you back.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.039)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.039) out of 10 for Busy Bees Dundee Hospital is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.813 for Busy Bees Dundee Hospital is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.813

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.226 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Dundee Hospital is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 94 number of registered child places is 18.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.8 = 0.426

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
