Children are welcome to join Danes Hill School Nursery from two years old. Nursery places are allocated on a first come first served basis so early registration is recommended.

Due to staff pupil ratios they are able to look at each child as an individual, learning with their own style. They get to know the children very well and understand how they learn best. Some prefer outdoor learning, where they can and need to move around freely, others are more relaxed inside and some like a mixture of the two.

Therefore Danes Hill have 'free flow' where the children are able to choose and self regulate. Extending high achievers is through questioning and enabling them to experiment and find things out for themselves. Other children are given support, sometimes physically, if they have difficulty moving around or using certain facilities independently. Each child has targets that are within reach. These are differentiated due to their individual needs. All areas, teaching and resources are inclusive for all and not designed with gender in mind.

Had two children in Transition, both really enjoyed their time there and went full-time very quickly. Classrooms are light, bright and spacious. Lots of fun toys and equipment for the children to use. Lunch is delicious and the children gained so much confidence there.
The staff are delightful, so
caring and encouraging.

The Danes Hill Nursery is a welcoming and warm environment. All three of my children have flourished here. They look at the child as an individual and plan fun and engaging activities. The pastoral Care is excellent and the children love going to school. The range of experiences available to them is
outstanding. Swimming twice a week, forest school, computing, specialist teaching for performing arts and languages. The nursery setting at Danes Hill simply goes above and beyond!

My daughter loves going to school and adores her teachers. There are so many different engaging activities, and she learns so much through the play. She doesn’t want to stay for lunch, so lunch at school is a challenge.

Cannot fault Danes Hill Bevendean! Our daughter started in transition in September having never been away from me and the teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure she settles well. Needless to say, she has, and she absolutely loves it! Having attended the school myself twenty or so years ago,
it is so lovely to see that the core values of the school remain the same. The opportunities presented to the children are endless and the care and attention from the teachers is outstanding.

Bevendean is a wonderful place and I fell in love with it when I initially visited, with the view that I wanted my little girl to start when she was 3 (in transition). The facilities are fantastic and the teachers and staff are so caring and nurturing. My daughter absolutely loves it, and genuinely
enjoys learning, and I couldn't happier about that. They instil such positive behaviours. If I had one negative at all, it would be that there is very little communication between teachers and parents on an individual basis. With a child of 3 or 4 years old, I would have thought that there would be much more interaction, given they are so small, and are generally not willing to talk about their day once home. I would love to know more - how is she behaving? Does she eat well at lunchtime? Where are her strengths? What do we need to work on? I have found this to be the part where it is lacking, and it's something I wouldn't have thought I would have to chase.

Bevendean is the most fantastic environment and education you could wish for your child. The teaching staff are incredible across all areas of expertise, and the head teacher is consistently highly engaged, energetic and focused on providing the very best experience and education for the children.
