Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries is housed in a lovely character building set in the heart of the village. Previously a public house, The Chalfont Phoenix has been completely renovated from inside to outside and transformed into a fantastic nursery for local families. The nursery caters for around 65 children from babies through to school age and also offers a range of parenting classes for families attending and the wider community.

Hungry Caterpillar’s Chalfont’s on-site chef will be cooking nutritious meals for the children using locally sourced produce. Chalfont will also see the launch of ‘Caterpillar Parent Services’ which will enable busy working parents to use the nursery as a one-stop shop for emergency supplies, dry cleaning and local errands. The aim is to ensure local business’s benefit from the nursery and parent’s lives are made easier.

The nursery will run regular Forest School sessions for the children taking full advantage of their wonderful garden area and local green belt. Children will also have the opportunity to access weekly Yoga sessions, French classes and music sessions.

We’ve had both our children at the nursery for the past 2 years and are generally very happy. The setting, across all age rooms, is lovely. Lots of light, decorated in a colourful, tasteful, inspiring way. The staff are extremely friendly, whilst professional and on it. They keep us regularly updated
with our children’s progress and general well-being within the setting. I’d highly recommend this nursery. Prices have gone up massively, but sadly this seems to be the case at all nurseries around this area.

Unfortunately, I have no other nursery to compare with.
Our granddaughter is very happy to go but appears unusually quiet when left.
Some minor issues over sleeping, but overall she seems settled.
Very comprehensive reports produced - some of the observations have been interesting and some surprising
and probably worthy of discussion.

The Hungry Caterpillars nursery is situated in the centre of Chalfont St Peter with lots of free parking around, which makes pick-ups very easy.
It has a very secure entry system, which is essential for child protection and assurance to parents. The staff are always very friendly and give feedback
on how the child has done that day and any little incidents which might have occurred and talk to each of the carers as they pick up their child.
I’m very impressed by this nursery after having gone to grandparents day and seen all the different activities there are to amuse the children and to stimulate their development.
My granddaughter is really happy there and has made some lovely little friends.
I would highly recommend it as being a well-run and caring organisation.

The communication from the nursery and in depth reviews from the key worker is why I'm leaving a review. The last report on my grandchild showed the key worker 'knew' her incredibly well. The happy way my grandchild talks about her days at the nursery, and what she's done etc is lovely to hear, especially
counting in French! Anytime I have needed to call or visit the nursery, the staff have always been cheerful and helpful. The best review is that my grandchild is happy to go there.

Both of my daughters have attended Hungry Caterpillar Day nursery at Chalfont St Peter, so we’ve been using their services since the day they opened. It’s a beautiful nursery, with excellent facilities and well-thought-out activities for the children each day. The team at Hungry Caterpillar are diligent,
caring and really ‘on it’. We’ve enjoyed our association with the nursery for almost 6 long years and have always been delighted with them.

I am very happy with Hungry Caterpillar-Chalfont St Peter, my child has had a fantastic experience there. She was shown so much love and care when she joined as a 1 yr old in the baby room, the staff welcomed her and she settled very quickly. She then moved to the toddler room and the transition was
handled with such kindness and sensitivity, she cannot wait to go to nursery in the mornings! She is now receiving a lot of educational stimulation in the toddler room and I can see her skills developing weekly.

My daughter wakes up excited to get to nursery and is always keen to wave me goodbye at drop off (hopefully that says more about them than me as a parent)!
She eats well, plays in so many different activities and is never short of a story/babble in the car on the way home.
Her development and confidence
is mostly down to the great work the nursery has done since she started there at just 7 months old.
She has the best time.

Overall a great experience in a tough industry. We find the staff to be very helpful and the settling of our one year old has been brilliant. The space is clean and well-maintained. Areas for children are looked after very well and provide a safe environment for play and learning.

I found the whole experience delightful. I had an opportunity to take my grandson to the nursery each day and was so impressed by the standard of care that it offered. What a fantastic environment for little ones to learn through play.

My daughter previously attended Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter and now our son attends four days a week and we cannot rate it more highly. We have experienced all three rooms from babies, toddlers to preschool and the level of care and experience of the whole team are fantastic.
The images shared with us each day of the different sensory activities, story time, garden activities and role play that they take part in are wonderful and our little boy clearly has such a busy and fun-filled week! He is a very busy, energetic boy, so the variety of toys and activities, as well as regular access to their gorgeous garden area is perfect for him. Our son talks a lot at home about his carers and his little friends, which for us is a sign of how much he enjoys his time there. Despite the challenges of Covid-19, the team have worked really hard to ensure a safe and happy environment for the children and we would without a doubt recommend to anyone looking for a nursery place in the local area.

My daughter enjoys her days at the nursery and always comes out happy. The garden and outdoor play is her favourite. We are updated about her progress weekly via an app with pictures which is wonderful.

Really can’t recommend Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter highly enough. Our son has been with them from the babies room through to preschool and absolutely loves it. He’s built great relationships with many of the teachers and has made lots of friends. Very safe, lots of fun activities
and amazing food. We have our second registered and have recommended to a number of friends.

Excellent Nursery. The Staff are exceptional. The attention to detail and granular level of care they give each child is wonderful to see. My son has been attending since he was 12 months and loves every second. The activities and games that are continually played throughout the day are utterly brilliant.
My son runs into Nursery happily each day and runs out equally as happy. Who could ask for more?
Fantastic staff - they genuinely nurture and love the children. It is joyous to see. You couldn't ask for more professional, dedicated, caring and fun staff. A real credit to Hungry Caterpillars. The facilities are superb. Highly highly recommend. A big thank you to Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter for being such a great (and much-needed) addition to our Community. Special thanks to the exceptionally hard-working Manager. A massive shout-out to two staff members for looking after our son so beautifully.

Our child has attended the nursery from 5 months old and he is now 4 years old and is a very confident and happy child. He absolutely loves going to nursery and we believe it has a huge part to play in the fact that our boy is the confident, happy child that he is. The staff have all been involved with
our son at some point, as over the years he has worked his way through all the stages. They are all caring and encouraging, allowing the children to develop in a safe caring environment and for us, as a family, it’s been a huge help with our work-life, knowing that our child is in a safe place where he is happy, learning, and looked after.

I could not have asked for more from Hungry Caterpillars in helping my daughter's transition to nursery go smoothly. The baby room team were extremely kind and sweet with her from the very start (14 months old), and have continued to be. She settled in happily in less than 2 weeks, which was amazing,
and I was well supported by the team on the couple of occasions she wasn't delighted that I was leaving. The nursery nurses genuinely care about their charges, there is a lovely atmosphere in the room and the babies just love the brilliant activities that are set up for them each day. I wondered whether my daughter would nap properly, but the team are experts in making the babies feel secure and relaxed and getting proper sleep. They even helped managed my baby's transition from two naps to one. They've also helped her learn to feed herself with a spoon. She loves her nursery, and I am thrilled. I thought my elder daughter's nursery in London was great, but this is superb.
