Children 1st @ Birstall provides loving care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old and is judged to be 'Good' by Ofsted (February 2021).

The nursery is located just off Loughborough Road, making it easily accessible for local parents and those who commute to work. The nursery became part of Children 1st Day Nurseries in 2017 and since then has undergone a wide-ranging indoor and outdoor refurbishment programme to bring it up to the same high standards of the other nurseries run by Children 1st. The children love the setting's secure, enclosed outdoor play area which provides the opportunity for them to explore nature and develop physically. The nursery's well-trained staff know the children very well and share their high expectations to help them develop independence and self-care skills in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery also has a separate, well equipped baby suite, where the youngest children can explore and develop with children of a similar age.

Birstall welcomes close liaison with families so that everyone can work together to support the child’s well-being. The staff aim to create a warm and welcoming ethos which ensures children are happy, safe and secure.

The nursery is part of Children 1st Day Nurseries, the UK's largest family-run day nursery group. The company is in the Top 3 in the UK for Ofsted Outstanding results according to the 2021 Nursery World Nursery Chains report.

Since the Nursery has been taken over by Children 1st @ Birstall there has been significant improvements.
My daughter is in the pre-school classroom which now appears to be a calm structured environment unlike before.
There are a number of children, however, every time I have collected my daughter
at various times in the day, she has been occupied and been part of a group activity.
The appearance of the nursery has changed and improved but I’m pleased to say there are positive changes with the care also.

All of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They have been amazing with both of my children. My daughter is 4 and she loves coming to nursery and now it has been refurbished it looks amazing. My son is 9 months and has just started and he also loves it. The staff have been very helpful as
he has a dairy allergy and he has all food specially made to suit his needs.

This review is based on 9 months of using the nursery. The staff are experienced and genuinely do care and my child has developed considerably during his time there. The recent refurbishment has added a modern feel and play and learning opportunities which I know my child enjoys on a daily basis.

Children's First have been fundamental in my sons development. They have encouraged confidence in my son and us in Children's First as his parents. They have a professional operation and image. The improvements they have made to the nursery are outstanding and my son is happy and excited to attend the
days he is in.

Children’s 1st have turned this already brilliant nursery into something much much more. The quality of the interiors and the outdoor play areas is superb.


My daughter is very happy at the nursery and cannot wait to go each morning. The food is fantastic, all home cooked, nutritious and tasty.


As

a parent I feel completely reassured that my daughter is getting the best care and 1st education at this nursery.


I would thoroughly recommend sending your child here.

Children 1st @ Birstall have done an amazing job of transforming the nursery and after-school club. The nursery has more of a flow and is very open with wonderful, new and exciting toys and development aids. The staff are just as friendly and open. My girls love the new environment.

We have been sending our son to the nursery since 2015 and we absolutely love the place. The nursery itself is undergoing reconstruction and the place looks and feels fabulous, it is big and spacious and my son loves playing and exploring different things.


All the staff are incredible! They are friendly

and always on hand to help and answer any questions or worries and will always provide an update at the end of the day.


The children have a variety of food to eat (on a 4 weekly rota) and snacks are provided throughout the day.


This nursery is amazing and the transformation from what it was to what it is now is just wonderful.

My son had been going to the nursery for 6 months prior to it becoming a Children 1st nursery. We obviously liked it before to choose it, however, now it is absolutely amazing and like no other nursery we visited in the area. Newly refurbished with bright open plan rooms with beautiful toys and play
equipment with the most amazing outside play area and great staff - what's not to like? I'm so glad we got in before all the changes as when the word gets out I imagine there will be a huge waiting list!

Children 1st @ Birstall took over management of the nursery in summer of 2017, so I feel it's a little early to comment. However, I haven't had any problems and the tradition was fairly smooth. We still have the same practitioners so the kids and I are happy with that.
