Monkey Puzzle Altrincham is a large detached building laid out over four floors. It is situated on Market Street in the affluent town centre of Altrincham and is a five minute walk to the tram and bus stop. It also boasts close links to the M56 and M6, providing easy access for those parents who commute.

The nursery is owned and managed by early years experts, who have extensive skills and abilities in implementing and understanding the EYFS and have been a successful teaching team for the past 13 years in a Trafford school.

The aim of Monkey Puzzle Altrincham is to provide all children with outstanding childcare to ensure they receive the best possible start in life within a happy, secure and stimulating, home-from-home environment. The nursery is filled with passion and enthusiasm for delivering first class care and education to children from birth to five.

All children benefit from bright spacious rooms that are fantastically resourced with high-quality equipment, specifically selected to be age and stage appropriate.

The baby room benefits from a separate sensory room that engages the children with lights and sounds to enhance their development. The toddler room is a huge space providing endless opportunities for messy and exploratory play. Preschool is another large room benefiting from fantastic provision, including sand/water play, role play, small world and construction. The children also receive daily literacy and numeracy sessions to help prepare them for that all important transition into school.

Monkey Puzzle Altrincham has a unique indoor/outdoor room, dedicated for physical development, designed especially to be accessed, whatever the weather may be. This room leads out onto a raised decking area with a large climbing frame, sunken sand pit and bicycle track. This really is a nursery that promises to provide the best for each and every child!

My little girl has been at Monkey Puzzle for 2 and a half years now and she has always loved it. The staff are excellent, very caring and really take the time to get to know her and teach her in the way that works best for her. The food is fantastic - so varied and she eats much better at nursery than
she does at home. The app they use to send pictures, updates and other general information to us is brilliant. It really settled my nerves when I first sent her in when I started back at work to be kept up to date at any point during the day and I still check this now. We have been so impressed with how much our little girl is learning, she comes out with new songs and Spanish every week, - it is lovely to see and it has also helped her grow into the confident little girl that she is today. We couldn't recommend Monkey Puzzle highly enough.

Both of my children have thrived at Monkey Puzzle. The quality of education and care they receive there is outstanding. The staff are all warm, nurturing and enthusiastic. There is an excellent balance between education and play, so the children do phonics, maths, learn Spanish, learn about cultural
and religious events, do yoga, but also have lots of time for imaginative play, art and craft. The food is excellent, healthy and varied. There is very good communication between the staff and parents, and we get daily updates and photos of their activities as well as regular updates on their progress and development. My children have been so happy and settled at Monkey Puzzle and have formed strong bonds with both the staff and the other children. I highly recommend this nursery.

My son recently started attending at Monkey Puzzle Altrincham and much to my delight he has settled in so well considering he hadn't ever attended any baby or toddler groups due to lockdown. The staff are friendly and polite and keep me well informed on my son's day. The nursery has a home from home
feel and the setup of the classrooms are both inviting and engaging. The indoor-outdoor garden is my sons favourite place to be as he loves riding on the bikes.
The menu on site is very exotic and the children are exposed to a wide variety of different cuisines. All food is cooked fresh onsite by the chef and the nursery use local suppliers to buy fresh produce. The senior management team are very approachable and knowledgeable which puts our minds at ease as we know the nursery is in good hands. Give this place a try! If you are looking for a nursery that doesn't feel corporate then this is the place you're looking for. Friendly, caring, polite and professional.

Laura Cardy BSc Hons PGCE has worked in Early Education for the past 14 years. She has been an EYFS leader in a primary school for the past nine years whilst also being a Reception class teacher.


Laura has an excellent understanding of what is required to establish and manage a high quality childcare setting. Laura has been part of a senior management team at her school where she has helped lead the whole school staff through the ever changing world of childcare and education. As part of her management role, Laura has helped lead the school through three successful Ofsted inspections where her EYFS department has always performed to an outstanding level.


Being a mother herself to two young children, Laura knows first hand, from a parents perspective, the importance of providing high standards of care and education to children. Laura is passionate about working in partnership with parents to ensure all families receive the very best for their children.

Nicola Cooper holds a BTEC Nat Dip in Childcare and a Certificate in Early Years Practice (Level 4), and a Foundation Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies.


She has experience of working within a private day nursery setting and has worked as an EYFS teaching assistant for the past 13 years. Having worked across all age ranges between 0 to 5 she has an excellent understanding of what is required to manage the day to day running of a childcare setting.


Being a mother herself she has first hand understanding of the need for high quality early years care and education provision. Nicola prides herself on being a successful communicator and working in partnership with parents.
