Located close to the heart of Birmingham, N Family Club – Harborne is housed in a period building. Having been sensitively refurbished in 2022, the nursery is packed full of features, including light-filled playrooms, a sensory room to support mindfulness and yoga sessions and a family lending library. Outside, the spacious garden large garden comes complete with a climbing structure, slide, race track. Regular Forest School-inspired sessions (where children build dens, explore bug hotels and cook outside) also form an important part of the core programme.

Fresh, healthy meals are prepared every day on-site by the in-house chef. Former Head of Nutrition at Jamie Oliver – Laura Matthews – has been working with N Family Club since 2017 to ensure that the seasonal menu supports the developmental needs of every child.

At N, nursery is more than just daycare. It's a community of parents and educators working together to provide the best possible start for the children at N. N's in-house training programme – The N Academy – supports and encourages educators to continue to develop their early years practice. For parents, N have created The Family Hub. An online blog where parents can find parenting tips and advice from the education team as well as leading early years experts. Parents also have access to online parenting talks on topics such as sleep, weaning, potty training, and much more.

My daughter loves this nursery! The staff are amazing, the facilities are wonderful and all the activities they do really help her development. Since day one all the staff knew her name and were daily welcoming her in a very warm and caring way.
I really recommend it.

My two-and-a-half-year-old has been at this nursery since he was seven months. I have looked elsewhere (closer to home) and nothing compares to the quality of care and experiences they get at N Family Club - Harborne.
The staff are friendly and approachable. They are knowledgeable about each stage
of the child’s development and you get regular feedback that isn’t generic or sugarcoated. I particularly like how committed the staff are to learn and respond to the children as individuals. Staff know my child well, including his likes and interests and regularly plan activities around this. They’ve really provided so many opportunities for him to grow and become confident and independent.
The food is fantastic - really varied and not bland. They are all proper meals and my child enjoys serving himself, sitting with his friends and clearing away. The large garden for children to run around in is stunning. I love that they go out each day and dress for the weather. I couldn’t ask for more whilst I am at work.

My daughter started at the setting a few months ago and I couldn't be happier. When I decided to go back to work full-time, I knew I needed to pick the right nursery for both of us and N Family Club Harborne was the right choice. All the staff have helped both of us with this transition and my daughter
has come on leaps and bounds since starting there. The care is amazing and she has formed strong bonds with her peers and the staff in such a short period. We cannot recommend the setting enough.

Both my children currently attend N Family Harborne - one in the preschool room, and one in babies. I have been constantly impressed by the standards of care provided, how friendly, caring and approachable the staff are, how great the food choices are, and how varied the activities are. The overall
running of the nursery, and the facilities on-site have improved hugely since N Family took over. There is a happy and calm feel about the nursery, and both my children are really thriving there.

We have had a child at this nursery since 2019, first our daughter and now our son. We have been so impressed with N Family since they took over the setting - the food menu is incredible (and so much care is taken over our son’s allergies, which we really appreciate) and the nursery feels so well organised
and well managed. The staff have always been so caring and attentive. Our children have been really happy here. We couldn’t ask for more from a nursery and would highly recommend it.

Both my children attend this nursery and the eldest has done so for over two years.
I can’t rate the staff highly enough, they are so friendly and always keep me up to date with everything my children have been up to with daily pictures and notes of what they have eaten and how long they have slept
for.
The door for the managers is always open if I ever need to speak to them about anything. My children both love going there and have made great connections with other children and staff. I love that I only have to send them with clean clothes and everything else is provided as it makes my mornings a lot easier.

This is a brilliant nursery from every direction. From the child carers to the entire system that is used within the nursery.
My child lights up with joy whenever I even mention any of his carers' names and enjoys himself the second he walks in.
As a parent, I get complete peace of mind knowing
exactly what my child is up to, eats, and what activities all through the mobile app whilst I am working. Giving me 100% visibility on his progress. The workers are an absolute joy to speak with regarding any of my personal concerns or request.

Excellent nursery well run with a lovely stable team of practitioners. Care and attention paid to each child and family. Couldnt ask for a better setting for early years. Dedicated chef providing three cooked meals a day, dietary requirements carefully catered for. Many improvements have been made since
N took over the nursery eighteen months ago, I would highly recommend it.

My daughter has been there for more than 3 years. The staff, especially the management team, are very friendly, caring, and supportive. The curriculum is strong with a focus on child development, mentally and physically. The facility is super clean, safe and well-maintained. There has been a recent

I highly recommend this nursery to any parents looking for childcare, I cannot fault them! My son has come on so much since joining N Family. On joining the nursery he had very limited speech and was under speech and language, within a year he has come on so much at the nursery that we no longer need
that referral. He has an amazing relationship with all the staff members and management, he feels very comfortable here and really enjoys his time at nursery, he looks forward to going in every day and speaks about his teachers on a daily basis, expressing who he is excited to see that day! His appetite has also come on since being with N Family, previously he had a very limited pallet, they have really encouraged a wide variety of foods and offer fresh and healthy cooked meals every day. He's never eaten so well. I love having the app and seeing the variety of activities every day. All the staff truly care and are committed I couldn't thank them enough for everything they do!

Our experience at N Family Edgbaston has been excellent, from the friendly, welcoming staff to the fantastic care our son has received in this beautiful, newly renovated nursery has helped us to feel reassured that this is the right place for our son to grow and develop. For us, the care around transitional
moments (potty training, moving rooms etc) has been what has really impressed us. The team listen to us and helped to support our little one in exactly the same way we would do at home, creating that consistency which we really hoped to find in a nursery. The communication within the nursery is fantastic, whether that is daily photos of the various activities the children are doing to newsletters and messages from room leaders checking in on how everything is going are all ways that help us to feel part of the N Family, we couldn't recommend the nursery more highly!

We have found the staff to be caring and patient, important attributes given to our child since he started nursery for the first time. His key practitioners have been a vital part of my son's care and he adores them. They work very well and support both my son and us, as parents, so we are all on the
same page when it comes to our son's development. My son is very happy and enjoying his time at the nursery. They have plenty of learning opportunities through play. When approaching there is a warm feeling, all the staff are friendly. I always feel comfortable and safe leaving my son. A Big thank you to all of them.

We started this nursery from January 2022 and I was extremely careful in choosing one for my twins. I went to 8 or 9 different nurseries trying to find what I was expecting but no luck. One of my friends recommended N Family and honestly from the very first visit I fall in love with them. Our journey
was a bit bumpy from the beginning, as they had different management that time, but now I couldn't be more happier with new people on board.
Management are super caring and very easy to approach. Our key workers are God-sent as twins development and understanding improved so much! I have fantastic updates on the nursery app, with pictures and daily activities they do. I love their food menu! All healthy and very balanced. No junk food!
I like how nursery is clean and modern, cameras and fresh touch always good to see! But the most important thing, my kids looking forward to nursery days! Which is fantastic! I highly recommend this nursery.

After researching many nurseries in Edgbaston and the surrounding areas, we are so glad we chose N Family Edgbaston for our little one to attend. We cannot praise management and staff enough - they are responsive, caring, flexible, and simply lovely people.
We immediately felt reassured during our
first visit, the rooms are extremely spacious and the outdoor area is great, the ideal environment.
As a covid baby, our little one struggled with social interactions when he first arrived at the nursery but within weeks he was talkative and confident playing with the other children. There are so many creative activities throughout the week and not forgetting the varied healthy food which our fussy eater loves!
We would highly recommend the nursery to everyone!

Our daughter started at this wonderful nursery a month ago and really enjoys attending morning sessions. The staff made her transition really smooth and keep us updated with changes and activities through the app. We love seeing photos of what she’s been up to. We went for an initial viewing on a weekend
and the manager made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions and queries. She recognised that each child is individual and that parents also require reassurance that their child is going to be happy whilst in others care. One of the factors that made us choose Bright Minds Daycare (Edgbaston) was how our daughter hugged her, showing that she clearly felt comfortable in this environment. Her key workers are all so caring with her and help to further her ongoing development. We’ve noticed since attending nursery, she’s better at putting her toys away. She enjoys playing in the garden and we look forward to her making friends and blossoming further.

Our daughter has been at Bright Minds Daycare (Edgbaston) since she was nearly two years old, she is four now and will be leaving soon. From day one she has loved her time there. Every day she is excited to go and at the end of the day, excitedly tells us of all the amazing things she has done. Without
fail, the staff at the nursery plan out unique activities every day to ensure the children never get bored. Also rain, sun or snow it’s amazing that they always ensure the children go out in the wonderful garden. Staffing wise, during my daughter's time her primary carer has changed a few times as she has progressed through the age groups and each time the transition has been seamless with new staff immediately becoming her new favourites within days. It’s also great that they have specialist sports and music teachers that come in to hold occasional sessions which my daughter always loves. Having a dedicated cook and high-quality kitchen also means food always gets a big thumbs up too.

My son has been part of this nursery for the last six months. From the moment we spoke to the team when we were enquiring about the nursery, we knew this was the place for us. Their attention to detail and genuine interest in the children is second to none. They go above and beyond to make every day
different and exciting for the children. Be that a themed day from the activities to the menu or just a normal day. So many nurseries talk about child led learning but Bright Minds Daycare (Edgbaston) delivers on this and you can see this happening every single day! The food is exceptional, the chef puts in so much work to have a varied menu, with special menus to compliment themes in the nursery and even a celebration for every birthday. My son has developed so much since being part of the nursery and I can’t imagine him being in a better environment. He loves it and the excitement I see in him every day when we tell him that he is off to nursery, makes me know that there’s definitely something special about this place!

Martina was born in Ireland but has been living in Birmingham since 2014. She's been working in early years education for the past 20 years. Martina studied Montessori education, child physiology and supervision in childcare qualifications and has worked in various outstanding nurseries including some Montessori Schools.


In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, particularly cooking for them and getting together for dinner.
