Located close to the heart of Birmingham, N Family Club – Harborne is housed in a period building. Having been sensitively refurbished in 2022, the nursery is packed full of features, including light-filled playrooms, a sensory room to support mindfulness and yoga sessions and a family lending library. Outside, the spacious garden large garden comes complete with a climbing structure, slide, race track. Regular Forest School-inspired sessions (where children build dens, explore bug hotels and cook outside) also form an important part of the core programme.

Fresh, healthy meals are prepared every day on-site by the in-house chef. Former Head of Nutrition at Jamie Oliver – Laura Matthews – has been working with N Family Club since 2017 to ensure that the seasonal menu supports the developmental needs of every child.

At N, nursery is more than just daycare. It's a community of parents and educators working together to provide the best possible start for the children at N. N's in-house training programme – The N Academy – supports and encourages educators to continue to develop their early years practice. For parents, N have created The Family Hub. An online blog where parents can find parenting tips and advice from the education team as well as leading early years experts. Parents also have access to online parenting talks on topics such as sleep, weaning, potty training, and much more.

A wonderful nursery, our son has been extremely happy here. The management team and staff are dedicated and hardworking, especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. They have exceeded our expectations on several occasions with their commitment, loyalty and support to parents as well as the children.
The setting itself is beautiful and the children thrive with the variety of activities created by the staff team.

My son is almost one-year-old now and under this nurseries care, I am very happy. Every member of staff, are professional and polite. Food is fresh and made daily. The family app will inform you of any activity, food, nappy change and I very much like it. They have a large garden too. On the top floor
is a very large room where many activities are performed.

My daughter has attended Bright Minds Daycare (Edgbaston) now for over two years. The nursery was pretty new when she started and we have seen staff change and grow over that time. Over the course of lockdown, the management team have been exemplary at communicating, although it hasn't been in person
as before, they have been ensuring that fears are alleviated. I am always encouraged to approach them with questions and concerns and nothing is too minor. I am always made to feel that they are happy to answer me, they do so in a timely manner and I always feel more confident and reassured afterwards. Especially in my daughter's room, there are some excellent staff. One practitioner made the time and effort to make my daughter feel incredibly special on her birthday, which she spent at nursery for the first time as there was no alternatives with lockdown. She not only had my toddler buzzing with excitement at the end of her day but understood the importance of managing me and my feelings, keeping me informed and reassured.

The best thing we have done for our daughter is enrol her to Bright Minds Day Nursery. Since starting the nursery we have found that she has developed so much. From day one our daughter has loved going and absolutely loves the staff. All the staff are so friendly, helpful and caring. The nursery has
coped so well through the current pandemic and we are very grateful for all the updates we receive about our daughter as it gives us peace of mind when we are working. Bright Minds was recommended to us by a family friend and we would 100% recommend it to others.

My son has been at Bright Minds for nearly 2-years, and he loves it. The staff have always been committed and caring, responding really well to us as parents when we have questions, and always ready to listen. The building is really spacious with a big and beautiful garden. The food is healthy and home-cooked.
We’re really impressed with the standard. My boy has learnt so much by being there and he has so much fun.

My daughter loves attending nursery. Having a key member of staff who provides feedback about her progress is great. Activities move through the week giving all children opportunities to explore new opportunities. Updates received throughout the day via the app. All staff are really friendly and get
to know the children.

My daughter started at the nursery in September, and from day one, she has loved it. Every day she can't wait to go, and when she gets back, she is full of excitement telling us what she has been up to. Her development since attending the nursery has continued to grow, and it feels like she has been
there longer than she has with the amount she has learnt. Throughout the coronavirus, the nursery and staff have been amazing. They have introduced measures to ensure everyone stays safe and nursery remains open where possible. This nursery has gone above and beyond in my expectations, and they all do an amazing job.

We have been very impressed with Bright Minds. Initially, we were very anxious about our son starting nursery but we can't give enough credit to the staff for helping him settle in and making it such a positive experience. Our son absolutely loves going to nursery and we know that is due to the hard

My little one has been with Bright Minds for almost a full year, now and we could not be happier with the care she receives there. I’m not sure how I can put into words how enchanted we have been since the day we first visited the nursery. From the way, the nursery is decorated and so very clean, to
the beautiful wholesome food they serve, to the genuine care shown by the employees. The management at the nursery is something else entirely, and I’m almost certain you couldn’t find a kinder and more proactive nursery manager anywhere. What prompted me to write this review was the realisation that even if the occasion occurs that things aren’t perfect, there’s no other place I’d trust to make it perfect and not stop until it is. That’s the kind of nursery every child deserves to go to, and I’m very grateful that mine does. Thank you Bright Minds for all you do!

Highly recommend this nursery, been to see so many others before coming across Bright Minds, could not believe the difference between what I saw before and what I saw in Bright Minds, such friendly staff and the manager was so helpful, answering all my questions and enquires, nothing was too much trouble
for them.
They looked after my little one's needs so well, even helped me with her potty training, great approach with the kids, and so much focus on their mental and physical development.
My child (which was very clingy to me) could not wait to go nursery, she loved it and blossomed there. Also, very clean and airy place with the cutest garden for outdoor playing.
Catered to all my little one's dietary requirements with the highest standards.
Being a worrier and sending my firstborn to nursery for the first time, I felt at so much ease sending my child there.
One of, if not the best nursery around the area.

I am writing this review a bit late as my daughter left Bright Minds last January. She started there at the age of 4 and a half months and as a first-time mother who was new to the UK, I was full of doubts and fears for sending my daughter at this little age to a nursery. The staff at Bright Minds were
amazingly supportive and I can confidently say that within a week all my fears were over.
The staff in the nursery and especially in the small baby room were highly competent and I felt my daughter was well looked after. I loved how she was exposed to a wide range of activities which she thoroughly enjoyed.
The staff were so supportive when it came to weaning and the separate weaning menu was really good.
Having extended session from 07:00 -19:00 was a plus for us, as both me and my husband work long hours.
The only drawback then was the high staff turnover which they were working hard to overcome.
Overall our experience at Bright Minds was fairly positive and I highly recommend it.

After our previous nursery closed suddenly we were left with no childcare. Both my wife and I are doctors and suddenly having no childcare left us in an extremely difficult situation. Bright Minds were able to take our son the day after our nursery closed. They have been exceptional, my son has been
made to feel welcome and has thrived at Bright Minds. All the staff have been wonderful but the manager really stands out. I first spoke to her after frantically calling around 15 nurseries trying to find childcare, she was kind and understanding at a very challenging time for us. She responds quickly to questions and has such a lovely manner with the children. He has loved his time at Brighminds and the only reason he is not continuing to attend Bright Minds is the distance from our house.

When the lockdown happened and our usual nursery closed we were recommended Bright Minds Meadow Road. This was a very disrupted time for our baby but the team at Bright Minds were so welcoming and understanding of the situation we were in. The team quickly got to know our daughter and were excellent
in communicating with us about how her day had been and what activities she had been up to. We really feel that our daughter has developed so many great skills since going to Bright Minds. Thank you so much Bright Minds Nursery!

My son has had the privilege of attending both JQ Bright Minds and Edgbaston Bright Minds (where he is at present) The change was only due to more convenience for work as both sites are exceptional as they mirror each other. The transition was smooth and he settled straight away.
The staff are warm,
friendly and competent at their job. They are also attentive. This ensures they get to know each child well so they can meet their individual needs.
My son has been open to so many learning opportunities through various activities, whether it be indoor or outdoor. This has supported and enhanced his educational needs. This is all documented in the family app which is excellent as it enables communication between staff and parents.
Overall I have been happy with Bright Minds and would highly recommend the nursery.

My child has been going to this nursery for a few months, and I can see the difference in his behaviour. He does more independent and creative play at home, and he's picked up lots of new words. The staff always keep us informed through the day, and give a good summary when I go to pick him up. I have
messaged directly through the day and staff always reply. They all know the children's names and are very welcoming and friendly. Facilities are great too, everything is new and there's a lot for the children to play with.

This is a fantastic nursery with very loving and caring staff. The facilities are superb and you definitely get that home to home feeling.
My baby is in best hands - I got so much support and reassurance.
We have tried a few nurseries prior going to Bright Minds but she hasn’t settled at all.
My
baby also has allergies and I was very anxious for her to go to nursery in the first place.
Bright Minds are absolutely fab with allergies and personal care plans! I totally trust them and feel that she will be safe.
I especially love the app where you get all the updates and see the food kids eating, activities etc.
My baby has developed so much since starting at Bright Minds!
I don’t usually leave reviews but I really hope this one will help someone because Bright Minds need to be recognised for the work they do and such a fantastic care staff provide.

We are grateful that our Son has had the opportunity to be part of Bright Minds Daycare.
Every member of staff is kind, caring and professional. When collecting our son staff are passionate about handing over what the nursery day has entailed from the homemade food enjoyed to the artwork ready to bring
home.
We are very impressed at the level of communication from the nursery and at having live updates throughout the day via a communication app.
Going to work is a lot easier knowing that our son is in a friendly, educational, spacious environment where he can explore and grow.

The facilities are amazing, with plenty of space and a beautiful outdoor garden area. The food is prepared on-site and the cooks are really thoughtful about each child’s needs and nutritional care. If this is not enough the staff are simply fantastic, very enthusiastic, they know every baby-child in
the nursery and are extremely caring and kind. It’s a blessing to have this team and during this lockdown, they have not disappointed in the minimum, the quality of care has remained spot on. The staff are very dedicated and friendly including the manager who always receives the babies with a huge smile.

Martina

Martina Reidy

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2021

Martina was born in Ireland but has been living in Birmingham since 2014. She's been working in early years education for the past 20 years. Martina studied Montessori education, child physiology and supervision in childcare qualifications and has worked in various outstanding nurseries including some Montessori Schools.


In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, particularly cooking for them and getting together for dinner.
