My son is currently at Burgess Hill Girls Nursery. I have two older children so have experienced a couple of other nurseries in the Burgess Hill area and I can say without hesitation that this is by far the best. The staff are kind, communicative, experienced, reassuring, energetic, caring and enthusiastic.
Because of them it has a lovely atmosphere and my son enjoys going. The nursery is purpose built. The rooms are large with a wide range of toys/activities and the children have easy access to the outside all weathers. The staff also take them on little adventures around the school grounds. He settled very quickly after joining and has been very happy there since.

I can't speak highly enough about Burgess Hill Nursery. My son is incredibly happy at the setting and thriving. The staff are wonderful (very experienced, warm and professional). The setting has a very consistent team in terms of permanent staff and bank staff. This has been brilliant in terms of my
son building relationships and also getting consistent support for his development and confidence. The facilities are beyond anything I have seen locally at other settings. We are really happy with the variation of activities (it's very child lead which we like), encouragement of independence and care for the kids. Highly recommend.

An outstanding nursery with a warm, nurturing feel, beautiful grounds, great facilities, caring staff, healthy children's meals, fun activities and a brilliant emphasis on learning through play. My younger child started at Burgess Hill Girls Nursery in early September 2024, following in the footsteps of her big sister who spent 2 happy years in the nursery from 2019. I have been amazed and surprised by how quickly my younger child settled into the nursery, which was largely down to the wonderful,
knowledgeable, friendly and caring staff. The grounds of the school and the nursery playground are amazing outdoor resources which the nursery children explore daily, come rain or shine.

Excellent nursery, my kids love being there. Teachers are so caring. They take great care of each and every kid. They feel like their second home there. Strongly recommend.
Food is very nutritious so I don't need to worry about packing their food. If they don't like any particular food, teachers give

Our boy had an amazing experience at the nursery. He was rather shy and unsure to start but one nursery practitioner, in particular, and the team did a wonderful and caring job of nurturing his confidence and social skills.
He quickly came out of his shell and had many lovely and rewarding experiences
with lots of pictures and updates on the school's app so we could see what fun and activities they had been up to.
Thank you so much Burgess Hill Nursery, we are now looking forward to the next step of him starting at primary school in a few weeks and feel he has been well prepared for this next journey.

My daughter is in her final week at Burgess Hill Nursery before she goes into school. She has been with the nursery since the age of 2 and a 1/2 and I just could not fault the nursery.
The grounds in which the children get to explore and play in are just so wonderful, they use the fields to explore
in the woods and climb trees, they use the tennis courts to play on their bikes and scooters and they also use a lot of the other school facilities during summer holidays and half term. The teachers have all been incredibly influential and supportive, they are so tuned into each child's individual needs, I don't think I could have wished for a better nursery for my daughter and thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for an incredibly well-rounded nursery to send their child to.
It's very well known to be one of the best in the area.

Our daughter had an absolutely brilliant time at the nursery and it's been amazing to see her grow through her experiences. The setting is lovely, within the gated school grounds with plenty of safe outdoor space that was used for nature walks and other activities. The events (sports day, Christmas
show etc.) were very well put together, again making use of the school facilities, like the theatre and school field. But above all, the staff were amazing. It feels unfair to call out individuals as they are all great but one nursery practitioner was absolutely fantastic and really built a connection with our daughter and another nursery practitioner’s energy is unbelievable - her energy was contagious for me as an adult so I can only imagine how it is for the children! The nursery manager was warm and welcoming to both children and parents and tenacious when resolving an issue we had with tax free childcare - we really felt supported. All the staff were fantastic and they work very well as a team.

Couldn't be happier with Burgess Hill Nursery. Our daughter has thrived under the care of the team here. The nursery benefits from fantastic facilities across the school site, allowing the children to explore and learn. The staff are consistently excellent, taking time at handovers to understand key
messages and convey details of the day's activities. Very active use of Tapestry means we get loads of pictures and insights into the day. Teaching staff, management, and admin have all been brilliant, and the nursery has overall done amazingly keeping operating effectively throughout covid. Highly recommended.

Our daughter loves going to Burgess Hill Nursery! The staff are superb at welcoming all children and parents alike to be "a part" of the day-to-day activities that have been enjoyed. We love how they challenge their play, learning, and social activities every day to make our usual parent "how was your
day?" questions at dinner time actually end up in a conversation about space, animals, recycling, road safety, etc, to name but a few topics!
We also love that all our daughter's food intolerances (gluten and dairy) are catered for with scrummy meals that are varied every week. They challenge the kids to try new foods, and that makes mealtimes at home even better for us.
We switched to Burgess Hill Nursery mid-way through 2021 after poor experiences with other local nurseries and haven't looked back (we wish we had enrolled her sooner!). We highly recommend them to all our friends and strangers we meet for both boys and girls. So go and get a tour and check it out for your child too!

My daughter attended the nursery and will be joining the main school this September. We have been so pleased to see her develop and flourish over the past year and are continually amazed at the breadth of extra learning experiences the nursery has provided her from watching frogs develop in the classroom
tank, to releasing butterfly’s and growing little plants to take home. Her growing interest in numbers and letters has been accelerated by the fun environment cultivated by the teaching staff, with weekly prompts to learn a new phonic and find a corresponding item at home that matches the sound. As parents, we felt very kept up to date with what she was learning through access to online Tapestry journal and could build on that with chat at home. I felt staff make time to chat at pick up/drop off handover if you have any issues and that was a credit to them in this pandemic where class access had to be limited. Most days our daughter has literally skipped up the path to go into the nursery!

This is my second child who has attended at nursery at Burgess Hill Girls. I love the access the children have to the variety of outdoor spaces on the campus that in a safe environment for the children to explore. My son has come on remarkably since starting back in January and always races off ahead
to get into his room as soon as possible. He has formed some great bonds with both staff and pupils and always comes home with a huge smile on his face which has been so lovely to see after a year of being socially distanced. Being an August baby I was concerned that school in September would be a challenged or him but he’s more than ready to make the step up thanks to his introduction to mark marking, phonics and numbers he has undertaken at nursery. I know he will be sad to leave but will also look back fondly on his time here, I would happily recommend the nursery here to anyone, in fact I already have!

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she turned 2 1/2 and she really loves it. She is a shy and sensitive child, however, it has not taken her long to get used to the new routine and she genuinely looks forward to attending each session.
The staff are excellent and encourage her to broaden
her horizons and she has definitely become more confident as a result. I receive daily updates on the activities available and also photos/videos of my daughter achieving specific tasks and skills.
In these difficult and uncertain times, I have been provided with tasks and activities for my daughter to complete at home if she is temporarily absent due to COVID-19. Overall, I am very happy with my choice of nursery for my daughter - Burgess Hill Nursery seems to be a perfect start to her education and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My son attended the nursery from 2.5 years to 4 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were different themes and activities each week, although he only went for 3 days he still got involved with everything that was taking place in the week. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and make the children
so comfortable in their setting. My son started school in Sept and we were told he is doing so well and must have had a good basis of learning from the nursery. My daughter has now just started nursery and we can’t wait to see her grown and learn in this fantastic setting.

Overall very good nursery. The fact that the nursery does not provide any facilities for children who need to get some sleep, is the only thing we struggle with. Napping on the floor/carpet? Who would want to sleep like that?

Suzanne Roberts

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2016

Suzanne is a Qualified Early Years Teacher with 30 years experience in the Childcare and Education Industry. She joined Burgess Hill Girls in 2016 after relocating from London where she worked across a variety of settings, including a social enterprise, local authority family and children’s centres and PVI Early Years settings, all at management level.


She has dedicated her whole career to supporting families and their children so they can experience the best possible start in life.


Suzanne’s move to Sussex has been liberating in more ways than one, swapping daily gym workouts for hikes and camping adventures with her family and her dog who pops into the Nursery now and then to enjoy a cuddle with the staff and children.

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager & Curriculum Lead

Joined: 2014

Nicole first worked with Burgess Hill Nursery as a student on a level 3 childcare and education placement. She later joined the team on a permanent basis as a Nursery practitioner and continued with her professional studies.


Nicole is now Early Years Teacher qualified and supports the Nursery to deliver high standards of care and education by working closely with parents, children and staff.
