My daughter has been attending Butterfly Patch in Cobham for just under a year and she loves it! She goes in with a smile and comes out with one. I have 3 older children who have all attended day nurseries and I can definitely say this is by far my favourite. The staff are all lovely and welcoming.
They play some really inventive games with the children to help them reach their developmental goals. The garden is my daughter's favourite and especially loves the water play in the summer. The meals are all freshly made and my daughter is encouraged to try new foods.

Our children have been with the Butterfly Patch Cobham for three years now and have been happy and thriving throughout. The staff are warm and friendly and my children love going to nursery. They have access to an array of different activities each day, and I feel confident that my children are learning
and progressing well. The nursery take children on outings to a forest school area sometimes (this is something I would like to see more of), and both of my children love this particularly. One of my children will be moving on to school this year and I feel that they have been well prepared for this. I know that they will be sad to leave!

My child absolutely loves to go to Butterfly Patch, and sometimes when we get him in the car during the weekend, he is quite happy because he thought he's going to the nursery. All the staff are amazing, and friendly, can tell that they genuinely enjoy being with the kids.
We have no worry when the
child is at the nursery, and we know that he is in good hands. Though the driving for us is a bit long, all worth it.

Wonderful nursery setting, a home from home. The nicest and most caring staff members. Learning techniques used are simple and not extravagant which keeps children humble. Children are monitored very closely throughout the day and regular updates are given. When I needed reassurance my daughter was
alright after a bad start or an injury, they were amazing.

The nursery is a very friendly and caring place. They previously had some staff retention issues, but now we feel comfortable. They write regular reviews and photos of the children and provide a safe environment for them to learn and play in.

The Butterfly Patch has been the perfect setting for my daughter. Her development has increased at phenomenal rates and she continues to enjoy going to the nursery every morning to see her friends and teachers. They continuously update me with various activities and learning that they do every week,
as well as providing a very thorough 6 week report.

The Butterfly Patch is a wonderful nursery in Cobham which is helping my child to really thrive. The staff are all very friendly and go above and beyond to make it a fun, family-friendly, safe and engaging activity for all the children. I love the app they use which helps you stay connected to your
child(ren), see what they have been up to, how often they have had their nappy changed and what and how much they have eaten. We chose this nursery because it felt like a home away from home. My child comes to nursery with a smile, leaves nursery with a smile and takes their nursery bag to the front door on a weekend hoping to go!

The Butterfly Patch Cobham continues to be my daughter’s second home. I fully trust everyone in the setting and she’s learning so much in the preschool room!
She always talks about how much fun she had in outings or singing to one of the teachers playing guitar. The staff has helped my daughter grow
in confidence and she goes in every day with a smile and excitement. I highly recommend The Butterfly Patch Cobham.

My daughter loves the Butterfly Patch Cobham. She’s been there for two years now and is currently in a preschool. She always leaves happy and tells me stories about her exciting day; their walks out to the woods and what she'd learned. The staff are kind and caring. Definitely number one in Cobham.

I have two children at The Butterfly Patch Cobham and both are very happy there. My youngest recently started and has settled in very well. The staff are all extremely friendly and smiley and seem to know every child’s name, whichever room they are in which is lovely. The children are frequently taken
out and about for activities and, in particular, forest school which is amazing. I would highly rate it to others looking for a nurturing and caring setting which isn’t too big.

It’s lovely as an involved grandmother to be included on the mailing list for my grandson’s activities, photos, comments, sleep times and child development suggestions. He appears to be very happy and secure at the nursery.

My little boy always comes home really happy and content. When I pick him up the staff tell me all about it, what he has done, played with, etc. Really happy! He is in very good hands. They really care about the children here.

My son loves The Butterfly Patch! He runs in and often asks to go back on the journey home. The staff are fabulous, approachable and have a clear love for the children in their care. I recently was invited in to share a story on World Book Day and it was lovely to see my son so happy, confident and
comfortable in this setting and with his teachers and friends! I would 100% recommend it.

My son has been attending the Butterfly Patch Cobham since he was 6 months old, when I had to return to work. It was such short notice to get him a place and the team at The Butterfly Patch were so understanding and did everything they could to make sure he was settled. I was so nervous as he was so
tiny, but I needn't have worried because the team were absolutely brilliant and they really put me at ease. My son is now 18 months and absolutely loves going to nursery, he hardly even says goodbye because he is so excited to go inside and see everyone! They have taught him brilliant routines that he replicates at home (such as washing hands after play, taking shoes, coat and dummy off when we get home etc) and I can see how his development has skyrocketed since attending. I receive regular updates through their app which includes notes and photos of my son playing which makes me feel so much closer to him even though I am at work. Could not recommend The Butterfly Patch enough, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Friendly staff, my grandchildren love going there. They come out very happy, and the preschool one often asks if a member of staff can go to his house. He often mentions what he had been doing, attempting the alphabet and counting. We noticed a big difference with sociability after they had both started,
when 8 months old.

The most nurturing and hands on nursery I had the privilege to witness. Just a happy environment for the kids to be in. In fact my daughter finds it hard to leave at pick up because she is having too much fun. It is just like a second home to her. We appreciate the small size of the facility as it feels
more introvert and intimate for the kids . A bit like a big play house! The teachers are the most dedicated and friendly. They give constant feedback about the child’s development. Love the chat at the pick up where they give you an overview of how the day went. The level of details from the daily activity report is extraordinary.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.331)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.331) out of 10 for The Butterfly Patch Cobham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.798 for The Butterfly Patch Cobham is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.798

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.533 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Butterfly Patch Cobham is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 number of registered child places is 8.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
