The Winchmore Hill Preschool & Nursery is built upon a passion for excellence and innovation in childcare and preschool education. They take children from 3 months up to 4 years and 11 months.

Staff put the children at the heart of their nursery where the focus is on a curriculum designed around how children learn. They plan varied, exciting opportunities to Explore | Discover |Create | Learn where children’s needs, talents, abilities and interests are ignited. The specialist curriculum covers music, performing arts, early years and discovery and technology with purpose-built studios for each specialist area.

They have dedicated under-two rooms; their baby room is designed to meet the needs of children from three months old until they are secure walkers. Staff follow the daily routine that children are used to at home so that the transition from home to nursery is seamless. With a separate cot room ensuring children can enjoy deep and undisturbed sleep.

The toddler room provides a very nurturing environment, where children are encouraged to be more independent and to try new things themselves, taking those next important steps in their development. The curriculum for under twos supports the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and has a strong focus on exploration and discovery.

The nursery's sensory room is an oasis of calm in and amongst the other nursery rooms. It is largely used by under twos who visit the room daily for focused sensory exploration. Music is piped into the room via a Sonos system supporting the children’s sensory discovery.

Staff are carefully selected specifically for their caring, nurturing and gentle qualities and their knowledge and experience of working with young children.

They believe it is very important that children are fed nutritious home cooked meals and the menus are designed by a specialist nutritionist serving largely organic food only.

We are very happy with the standard of care at The Winchmore Hill Day Nursery. Our children have always been welcomed with a smile, but more importantly, they always go in with a smile and full of excitement for their day ahead. Whenever we have raised any concerns or questions with regards to our children,
the staff have always been exceptionally supportive and ready to work with us to address any major developments (e.g potty training, giving up the dummy etc). As parents, the care, development and safety of your child is of the utmost importance and Winchmore Hill Day Care exceed in all areas.

We are delighted with this nursery, our son is 7 months old and it is more like leaving him with family than a nursery. The staff are all so friendly and we can see the genuine love they have for each child.
The support and advice we have received have been greatly appreciated, the photos and updates
throughout the day are great and we can see our son is in a fantastic, warm, loving, clean and safe place.

This is a fantastic nursery. It's always hard to leave your children somewhere that isn't at home but the staff provide such a warm and caring environment. Both our children have been/are here and formed great bonds with the staff and other children. The staff really go above and beyond to make the
children's experience fun and engaging. You will do very well to find a better nursery than this one!

After over a year of attending this nursery, my son, who previously went to another one, I can confidently say it's been the best decision. The staff truly invest in caring for the children and their educational journey. Each day brings a new activity for the kids, and the added bonuses of having dedicated
art and yoga teachers enhance their skill sets. The atmosphere is consistently positive, with genuinely warm and caring individuals. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to any parent considering enrolment, you won't be disappointed.

The Winchmore Hill Day Nursery looked after both of my sons, and my eldest joined about a week after it opened so we have been with the nursery since the beginning. It truly does stand out from the rest in the area, it has a very different ethos and really pushes the boundaries of early care; It includes
yoga, phonics/writing in the early pre-school class and has had a wonderful longstanding dedicated art teacher. The nursery staff have always been consistently lovely and caring to my children and have got to know them both in great depth (they are very different characters!) Management is also very caring and considerate of any needs which may arise, always at the end of the phone to offer reassurance and an update when needed. I was always very jealous of my sons' lunches and teas; They always came home bouncing and fully fed. My youngest has only just left and still talks about his class and his key worker; He will miss them very much. The nursery was definitely an integral part of our family.

Both of my children have attended this nursery. My eldest son really enjoyed the preschool room and was always very happy to go to nursery. He still wants to go back as a 6-year-old!
My younger son started in the baby room in February, and I’ve found the settling in and care of the staff excellent.
After 2 weeks he was super happy to go in and I appreciate all the updates about the many activities which he gets involved in during the day. I am happy he has good attentive care, a nice balanced diet and gets to do all sorts of activities I’d never do with him at home. The management is friendly and firm, with great communication. They use the app which is also great for updates. Highly recommend this nursery.

We were so impressed from the first viewing and our expectations beyond exceeded since our girl started. The staff are all so wonderful and the most caring. I’m constantly impressed by all the creativity they come up with to keep the children learning and educational entertainment. When I see the updates
of what they’ve been up to it always makes me smile and think what a good life these children have there, they all look so content and happy. The most important part, our girl has loved it there since the first day and is always excited when it’s time to leave in the morning.

Been at this nursery for a number of years, two kids have gone through and have experienced various rooms and practitioners. Youngest is currently in the preschool room. The facilities and activities are great, all very new, fabulous resources, interactive whiteboards, sensory room, proper art lessons,
yoga, in-house chef, my eldest went into reception doing phonics and writing thanks to this nursery. However, this is not why I rate them highly. What really matters and makes a huge difference is that their practitioners truly care about the children. We receive accurate, honest feedback. They know each child incredibly well. We have experienced another very popular nursery in the area prior to this one and when comparing the two, there really is no comparison. The bonds our children formed with the practitioners and management team at this nursery are at a different level. Children feel loved, safe and are very happy here. We are lucky to have such great childcare available to us.

We couldn't be happier with our experience (and our children's experience) of The Winchmore Hill Day Nursery. They love going in and love all the staff they interact with.
The staff are all so caring, attentive and friendly. Feedback is very regular via the app, showing full range of activities completed
during the day with plenty of pictures. Management communication is very quick, helpful and accommodating in any way they can be.
What we love;
The amount of learning and activities the children are exposed to.
The social interaction with adults (staff) and other children.
The manners, routine and values which all the staff seem to instil in the children.
The quality of food (organic, cooked in-house from scratch - nothing processed).

Absolutely fantastic nursery! The team at Winchmore Hill Preschool are incredible. They listen to your concerns and wishes and always try to accommodate you. The children are their utmost priority and my son absolutely loves his key workers. The food is made from scratch every day (bake their own bread

This is an awesome nursery. From the positive morning greeting to the communicative handover at the end of the day, and a fun-packed, caring and educationally-helpful day in between, I cannot express enough good things. I would highly recommend this nursery, and much credit goes to the tremendous staff.

We are fortunate enough to have 2 kids raised by the thoughtful, caring, passionate and friendly staff and management at Winchmore Hill Nursery. The progressive learning opportunities have given our children an open mind and a head start at school. Children are also taught to be kind and fair, generous

I am so glad I chose The Winchmore Hill Day Nursery for my son's early years education. It took a little while for him to settle in, but with the care and support of all staff, he soon settled in and now loves going to preschool. Seeing how much he has excelled since starting in January 2023 is amazing.
The staff go over and beyond for him, and it’s a joy to see.
