Mill House Day Nursery opened in August 2018. The building from which Mill House Day Nursery operates has been extensively renovated in order to provide a rich and enabling environment for young children.

The nursery is Ofsted registered and it operates in accordance with the current Early Years Foundation Stage with a strong emphasis on partnership with parents.

Children are supported to learn through play and practitioners observe, assess and plan in order to support development. All planning is shared with parents who are invited to contribute to planning in order to ensure that children are supported by effective partnerships.

The nursery employs qualified practitioners and the team is led by an Early Years Teacher who is also a trainer within the early years sector.

All staff hold current Paediatric First Aid Certificates and have undergone current Safeguarding training.

We cannot say enough good things about Mill House Day Nursery! Our experience there with both our son and daughter was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment that felt like a second home.
The entire team at
Mill House was amazing. Each staff member was not only highly skilled but also genuinely cared about the children in their care. They created a loving and stimulating atmosphere that encouraged our kids to explore, learn, and play. It was so heartwarming to see how engaged and happy our children were each day.
The communication from the staff was excellent, with regular updates and feedback about our children's development and daily activities. This made us feel included and confident in the care they received.
We highly recommend Mill House Day Nursery to any parents looking for a safe, fun, and enriching environment for their children.

I and my husband have always had high standards for child care, especially since it was our first child. Mill House exceeded our expectations, not only are they a family-run business, but the owners are on the frontline every day they run the nursery with their hearts. They put the needs of every child
and parent first. I’m so grateful to all the wonderful staff who introduced a safe, structured learning environment for our son. Our son started at 8 months old and what made us so happy was the nursery having a wonderful, calm, clean, happy, wholesome, and homely atmosphere. With its independent sleeping area for the babies. Baby room, toddler room, and preschool have developed our son's social, literary, numerical, physical, and emotional skills to prepare him for school. I’m so proud of how independent he has become and how well-prepared he is for school. Mill House is a magical and wonderful start for any child. Thank you for all your support over the years!

Mill House is a phenomenal nursery and we couldn't have asked for a better start in life for our daughter or a more welcoming and accommodating group of people. Our daughter was at Mill House almost from the very beginning from the baby room all the way through to pre-school and beyond. There was never
a time she didn't want to be there, she always had such a fondness for her carers and would badger us during the Christmas and holiday breaks about when am I going back to nursery?
The people working at Mill House in the rooms and office truly are more like a family than a service or necessity and you feel like they are developing the child individually and nurturing their interests not just sticking to a rigid curriculum. They have encouraged our daughter's curiosity and imagination and she has developed real affirming skills to take her forward into school.
We were really sad to move up to 'Big School' and leave Mill House behind. We recommend Mill House to anyone who asks at any time.

Her natural curiosity in nature was a wonder to behold and I'll never forget watching her delight as a spider crawled up her arm and across her jumper! Most children would have been distraught by such an encounter but not your little one; it's events such as this that prevent us from adopting a rigid curriculum as so much learning would have been lost has arachnids had not been placed at the top of our lesson plans! We are so pleased that she is with so many friends at her new school and we have such a lovely photo of her enjoying her friendships which started here in our baby room. We'll see you soon. I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Mill House. My son (and previously daughter) attended the facility for 2+ years and I was consistently impressed with the level of care and support.
The staff truly stand out for their unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of
each child, creating a warm and nurturing environment. The rooms are well equipped and the activities are not only educational but tailored to promote creativity and curiosity allowing my child to thrive. Communication is key, and Mill House excels in keeping parents well informed. The safety measures in place are commendable and I always feel reassured knowing my child is in a safe and clean environment.
What sets Mill House apart is the personalised attention given to each child. They took time to understand my child’s unique needs and interests.
I am grateful for the positive impact they have had on my child’s early years. In summary, they exceeded my expectations in every aspect.

We are so happy with our decision to move our eldest daughter to Mill House from another nursery. She has been happy there since day one. Our younger daughter also started in the baby room at this time. And even though it took her a bit longer to settle in, the team gave her that time and it didn’t
feel pressurised or rushed which we had experienced in another nursery. Her transition to the toddler room has also been smooth- I love that the team take the child’s lead.
When we discovered our eldest had difficulties speaking, the team went above and beyond to support them, and improvements were made because of this. The management and team at Mill House have made the nursery feel like a home- a safe and happy place, a second family to us.

My daughter attended Mill House from when she was 14 months until 4.5 years old- when it was time to move on to Reception. During this time, she was very well taken care of and learnt so much, developing and growing into her own individual and independent self. The staff go that extra mile to assure
you that your children are settled and happy, involved and engaged in their activities. During preschool, as parents, we were guided to understand what our children really need to know before school and how we can support them to develop these skills, especially around communication, feelings, self-care and independent feeding. The transition to reception was met with a level of excitement and confidence that the staff at Mill House instilled in the children, as they were prepared for the next adventure, possibly more than I was as a parent. Mill House Nursery is an extended family for both the children and the parents, and I would definitely recommend it.

Our years spent with this wonderful nursery have gone by so quickly, but the wonderful staff and very experienced owners made us/still make us feel part of this big family called Mill House Nursery.
My daughter enjoyed every moment of her nursery time, staff made sure she is always looked after (including
her medical needs).
Staff and nursery owners worked relentlessly to make sure their students were well prepared to transition into Reception schools and always inspired children and parents by leading by example. My daughter absolutely loved/loves her nursery and because of such a positive experience, she now loves every day of reception school too!
I could not have made a better decision for my daughter than to enrol her with Mill House Day Nursery! Highly recommended!

Our son joined Mill House from another nursery when he was 3 years old until he started school. I cannot overstate how brilliant this nursery is and how happy our son was when he was there. The level of care from the whole team is second to none, and it extends beyond the children to our families as
a whole. The staff have built a community within the nursery setting that has made life as working parents so much more bearable. Their door is open for any issues we might want to discuss. The setting is safe, nurturing and stimulating for the children and our son had made such strong bonds with the friends he made while there. His transition to school has been that much easier because he was so well prepared and ready for big school even if he was so sad to leave. We now send our younger child to Mill House too and his time in the Baby room and now Toddlers has been brilliant too. A truly exceptional nursery.

I have 3 children and they have all attended 3 different nurseries but Mill House Day Nursery is the best by far. I call them a home away from home type nursery where children receive developmental skills, education, preparation for primary school/ life skills, love and so much more. They are not just
a nursery but they are a family from the staff right through to the children and vice versa. They have an amazing garden and outdoor space for children of all ages and their nursery is always clean and tidy. The learning children receive is outstanding and each child is heard, encouraged and given independence to thrive and reach their full potential. I have seen my son grow tremendously from having speech and language difficulties and having to wear a grommet to now talking in clear full sentences and I can't thank the staff enough for working with him so closely so he could reach his full potential at nursery and thrive at primary school.

The manager and the team have been fantastic and as my child's second nursery, the only negative is that we didn't find Mill House the first time around.
Genuinely finely feels more like we were dropping Elsie off to relatives and she was always happy to go to nursery and would chat about her day
when she got home each day. She always wants to come and pick up her sister with me or her mum just so she can come and see everyone.

Mill House is an absolutely exceptional nursery. Our oldest daughter had been there from the baby room right through to preschool and then was able to transition seamlessly into her first year at school this September.
Our youngest daughter has been in the baby room for a year now and will soon be
transferring to toddlers. She absolutely loves her time at nursery and even let out a little squeal of excitement when she saw her nursery teachers after returning from the Christmas break!
The office staff are extremely helpful and attentive, they really make the place feel like a home from home for both the children and parents alike. They strike the perfect balance between professional and personable. I cannot rate them highly enough and we are incredibly grateful that our children have been afforded such a lovely start to their early learning journey.

My oldest daughter was at Mill House Day Nursery from 10 months old until 4 1/2, it really was a wonderful experience for her and fully prepared her for starting school. The staff are brilliant, always finding ways to encourage her individual interests and build her confidence and independence. I also
found that they go the extra mile with parents - my daughter struggled with nursery drop offs for a couple of weeks after the first period of lockdown, and the staff would always call or message me after I'd left to let me know she was now settled and happy, playing with her friends etc., which I really appreciated. My youngest also started there at around 10 months and at nearly 2 now she is happy, confident and her language has developed very quickly. She loves going to nursery, especially the garden activities, and has formed great bonds with the staff. I'm so happy we found Mill House and would recommend it to anyone!

My daughter has been in Mill House Day Nursery a couple of years now and has moved from the baby room to the toddler room and now the pre-school room. It has been a delight seeing her grow up and make these transitions in Mill House (and, of course, a source of immense pride for me). I am very well-informed
of everything that is happening with my daughter when she is at Mill House and the transitions have been very well managed, in a way that suits my daughter rather than be something pre-conceived based on her age. And now that I am thinking about reception and primary, Mill House has been very active in working with the schools I am considering, both to help me prepare and make them aware of what my daughter needs and where she is in her development. All the staff know my daughter well and seem to genuinely care about her well-being and her development. Really feels like a wonderful community at Mill House and really happy that my daughter is part of it.

I can't be any happier with all the team at Mill House, 1000 words aren't enough! They are like an extended family to us and the kids. The smell of good food, the cheerful smiles, the can-do and helpful attitude creates such a positive energy for all who interact with them. It couldn't be any homier.
Aside from the great education, ample outdoor space, creative activities and caring staff, I would like to say that the nursery has managed to create an environment for the relationships between the parents of different kids to grow. This is via the daily pick-up and drop-off chats and the well-attended events organised by the staff to create a truly wholesome community spirit. What a celebration! I genuinely feel blessed to be living so close to this wonderful nursery and I would say that it's well worth a commute to know that your kids are in the right hands. Can't recommend them enough! If you have a chance to send your children here and you're after a family, grab it!

An absolutely outstanding nursery. It's clear the staff work amazingly hard to create a safe, exciting and caring environment for children to develop and explore within. The nursery itself is looked after and has exceptional facilities, and the staff go above and beyond to provide great support and
communication to parents.
One daughter had been here from twelve months old and really enjoyed it, and has recently started school (and is loving it in no small part to the nursery!) and our other daughter has recently started and is equally happy and excited to go there.

We were nervous to let our little one go to nursery as you hear some horror stories but we have been so pleasantly surprised by Millhouse. We wish we sent her there earlier. The staff are so amazing and friendly. She had settled in wonderfully and loves going every day. She comes home all the time with
something new she had learned and stories of the fun she had. 100 out of 10 in all aspects. Just absolutely love them!

Our daughter started attending the nursery this year and I am glad we made the best choice. The nursery promotes the well-being of children by providing a nurturing environment, ensuring there are enough trained practitioners at all times which is excellent.
Although our daughter is still gradually
settling into her new environment, there is no doubt she loves it at Mill House Day nursery and we as parents do too. I recommend it to others especially if you need a quality, safe, caring and great learning/play space for your child.

Our Son's time at Mill House was phenomenal. He grew in so many ways there. The staff are caring, nurturing, thoughtful and compassionate. Helping our son to flourish. He adored the staff and the activities, games and learning opportunities they provided him. The outside space in particular was fantastic.
Their hard work meant he was so well-placed to begin school this year. The management team are superb, so proactive, understanding and accommodating. They really get what being a working parent is like and always go above and beyond to support. The Mill House community was something really fantastic and meant we were able to arrange playdates and ensure our son's very earliest friendships have continued despite going to different schools to some of his friends. I cannot recommend Mill House highly enough. Our son attended a chain nursery before moving to nursery when we moved home. We wished he'd started at Mill House sooner. They are fantastic!
