Jesters Childcare has a fantastic purpose-built nursery on the outskirts of the city of Chelmsford nestled right next to the Beaulieu Park School, the first 'Through School' in Essex!

The nursery has three large bright and airy rooms dedicated to nurturing babies; curious toddlers; and preparing for smooth transitions to school in Deer Pre-School Classroom.

Jesters’ play spaces are innovative and mentally stimulating. They are thoughtfully and professionally designed to be highly enabling for children to develop whilst having fun. Beaulieu is blessed with a large wrap around garden outdoor play space which is utilised whatever the weather.

Our little one has been going to Jesters since January 2019. We have always found the staff friendly and helpful and the setting is always clean, with an inviting atmosphere.
Our little one came to this nursery from a one where he was really unhappy, and within a month and with the support from the
staff and the manager he was back to his old self!
If your child also has extra needs they really do try to do everything they can to support you and your little one!
Shout out to the manager who is a credit to Jesters!
We will be bringing him back during half terms when he starts big boy school next month and would not hesitate to recommend them!!

My son thinks of Jesters as his second home. The biggest credential for me is, that I have gone on several occasions a bit early to pick him up and he gets slightly disappointed as he wants to stay more at Jesters! That's such a reassurance for a parent that his kid is enjoying his time.
Very happy
with staff. They give daily summaries of the day including activities and what food he had. Very personal attention to each kid. Fully recommended!

My child has been with Jesters since Dec2018, full time, and having joined the nursery from a previous setting I thought he would not transition well, however that wasn't the case and he comfortably integrated with the kids and staff! He has enjoyed his time making friends and becoming close to the
staff. The nursery provides the facilities for the kids to enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities and he has gradually built his confidence and learnt new things on a weekly basis. The nursery has taken parents' suggestions on board and have made the small changes to further enrich the children's learning and are in constant communication with the parents! Well done Jesters for completing a successful first year!

Both of our children have been so happy since their transition to Jesters at Beaulieu. The setting is wonderful and well resourced and all of the practitioners are friendly and committed to nurturing and developing the children. Communication is also excellent both verbally and through email and the
Tapestry portal. The manager has done an excellent job dealing with the pressures of setting up a new nursery and dealing with the management side whilst having to spend time in the rooms with the children as she establishes the team. My daughter has gone from strength to strength during her time here and is more than school ready. My son has settled brilliantly and is developing at such a fast rate. It's a difficult decision to decide who looks after our children while we have to work. We absolutely made the right choice with Jesters! Thank you to everyone involved.

Both my children settled here so well in this new setting. The staff are just amazing and dedicated to all the children. They are always open for feedback and will listen to any queries. All the children seem very happy and can see how much both our children have developed whilst here. The outdoor area
and toys/activities available for the kids are brilliant.
Our daughter graduated from pre school last month and they put on such a special graduation ceremony with so many lovely details and little extras....definitely felt very welcome!

Katie Clark

Job Title: Nursery & Pre-School Manager and SENDCO

Joined: 2021

My role at Jesters is Beaulieu Manager and SENDCO (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Co-ordinator). I started my career at Jesters in the Fawns Baby Room as a Practitioner, and after a few months, I was promoted to Room Leader in Squirrels. Following on I worked my way to Deputy Manager and now Manager. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful mentors who have helped me grow my leadership and management skills, as well as sharing years of childcare and education knowledge.


The reason I chose Jesters is because of the feeling of home it provides me, I feel inspired and enthusiastic about every day, and I can tap into many different areas of my training within my roles. I love being part of the children’s journeys, supporting and encouraging them to meet their next steps, creating wonderful activities and creating a home-from-home environment. I have been supported through every new role that I have undertaken at Jesters.


Jesters has given me the skills and confidence to progress into a role that I have always dreamed about doing.

Job Title: Head of Education

Hello, I’m Rachel, Head of Education at Jesters. I have over 12 years of experience in childcare and education and have taught in both nursery and school settings. I am passionate about child development and will always go above and beyond to ensure that all children are provided with exceptional learning and care opportunities.


I am part of the leadership teams at all Jester's settings. My role is to shape education and the curriculum across the service. I have Early Years Professional status.

Hello, I am the Servicewide Nursery School & Curriculum Lead developing and nurturing our Jesters pre-schoolers. I have always had an immense passion for helping others and making a difference, and because of this, I always knew I wanted to work with children, positively impacting their lives and helping them thrive and learn.


Growing up, I always admired my teachers and couldn’t wait until I could inspire other young children too. I completed my University Degree in Early Years and Primary Education and QTS Qualifications, and have been working in childcare and education since 2014. I have loved every minute and continue to do so here at Jesters.
