The Claires Court Nursery is a happy and inspiring place for young children to start their educational journey. From day one, the team of caring, qualified and experienced staff encourage children to follow their natural curiosity and to become independent learners through exciting and absorbing activities.

The stimulating and secure surroundings enable children to have the freedom to explore and learn, whether indoors in the large, bright and airy rooms or outside with the wildlife pond and muddy kitchen. As the children flourish and grow in confidence, the nursery encourages more structured learning and develops the skills that will help in the next stage of education.

The nursery children enjoy weekly Forest School sessions which take place in the lovely woodland in the Junior School grounds. They can also participate in specialist lessons e.g. PE and Music.

The nursery offers flexible hours and parents can select from five mornings or five full days plus extended hours' care to suit their family’s needs. The 'extended day' programme means that the nursery can care for children from 7.30am to 6pm (5.30pm on Friday).

The Nursery School is available 48 weeks a year for 2 year olds. 3 year olds can choose between all year schooling, or term time only.

Holiday care is optional (it runs most holidays from 8am to 6pm) and booked as required to suit family or work commitments.

Please visit the website for more information and to watch a short introduction film.

The school welcomes visitors to the nursery with regular 'open mornings' and individual tours, visit the website to arrange an appointment.

There has been a complete transformation of our twins since starting at Claires Court Nursery. I wish we had enrolled sooner.

They are always excited (well almost!) about going, despite the early start, compared with our previous nursery. Their current teacher has found the perfect balance of nurture

and encouragement to get them having fun while learning. Little tricks, like getting them to write their name on their snack boxes has made an interesting routine out of what could be seen as a 'boring' task. They don't even know that they are learning but come home with so much new information to tell us.

I would have no reservation in recommending the nursery to anyone who wants their children minds and bodies stimulated in a safe and caring environment.

Claires Court Nursery is a wonderful nursery setting with caring members of staff who plan excellent activities for the children to engage in. My son thoroughly enjoys his time at the nursery and is always talking about the fun and exciting things he has taken part in. I enjoy reading his progress reports
at the end of each term which include pictures and quotes of things he has said and shows how far he has come. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

I haven’t got a bad word to say about Claires Court Nursery, we absolutely love it and would recommend in a heartbeat! My daughter attended for two years and my little boy has recently started. The staff are nurturing, knowledgeable and approachable. We get great feedback on the children’s progress
and on the odd occasion my son has been upset on drop off I’ve had an email an hour or so later to reassure me all is well! The nursery is a great size with lovely outdoor facilities and the options for afternoon activities are excellent (ballet, French, cold cooking etc). Finally, the flexibility on sessions is great.

My daughter really enjoys preschool and comes home every week with either new songs she’s learnt from their fabulous music teacher or things she’s done/learnt from her teachers.
I’ve now put both my oldest through preschool at Claires Court, it's a lovely setting for them to grow and learn.

Both my daughter and my son before her have flourished in this nursery. My daughter loves her teacher/carers and has made many adorable friends here.
The facilities are outstanding and she enjoys the variety of activities she does on a daily basis.

I used to send her just 2 days a week but on

the days she didn't go she would ask me why she couldn't go! She loves waking up and getting dressed for her day at this nursery and when I pick her up she doesn't want to leave.

Their greatest achievement is turning these little children into independent, kind, brave, polite, happy, confident and clever little people.

The nursery is exceptionally run by the manager who puts her heart and soul into the place. Most of the teachers/carers have been there for many many years and know each and every child.

I feel so privileged that both my children have been able to experience the care they give.
I can't recommend this nursery enough.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.830)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.830) out of 10 for Claires Court Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Claires Court Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.83 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Claires Court Nursery School is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 number of registered child places is 8.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.455

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
