Where children are at the heart of everything. Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery offers an incredibly spacious day nursery for children to grow and develop. They offer a secure environment, catering for children between the ages of three months to five years.

They will have four dedicated nursery spaces for the different age ranges, including separate spaces for mobile (Tweenies) and non-mobile babies (Babies). Each room reflects the seven areas of learning as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage and is designed to be accessible to every child.

They aim to be outstanding in all that they do! They take nothing for granted and are committed to constantly monitoring, evaluating and improving their standards of care.

My child has been going to Monkey Puzzle Nursery since he was a baby and now he is 3. The care and commitment that the staff gives to my child is amazing and I really do feel confident and happy leaving my child while I am away at work. I can't thank them enough for all the things they teach my son
from problem-solving to potty training. He is truly happy to go to nursery every week and it gives me peace of mind while I'm at work.


Would highly recommend it.

Such a wonderful nursery! The staff strike the perfect balance of professionalism, organisation and approachability, and are always so happy to be with the children. The nursery itself is a lovely building with lots of different things to keep the kids busy, and an exciting garden out the back too.
Highly recommended.

I cannot thank all of the team enough for the fantastic care, support and pre-school education that has been provided for my son. It has been a first-class experience throughout, where they have completely cared for his holistic well being and personal development with great care and attention to detail.
Outstanding communication, great leadership and absolutely wonderful 'key persons' in each of the rooms.

This nursery is amazing, my little girl has absolutely flourished since starting just after her first birthday. The staff are fantastic, caring, supportive and fun. The setting has so much for the children to do and the outside space is massive. All the children are happy going in in the mornings. The
food is a big hit with my daughter and she eats lots of different foods now. I can't praise or thank them enough for everything they do. And during lockdown they were amazing, supporting the children and the parents too, making a very difficult time easier. Best decision I made choosing this nursery.

Such an amazing nursery. Sent my 2 year old there and it took him a few months to settle due to not being around other people/children because of Covid. But the staff at Monkey Puzzle were so patient with him and really helped encourage him to play with the other children and make friends. Not only
were they brilliant with my son, but they were also very reassuring to me, especially during the first few months. Now my son looks forward to going and even wants to go back when I pick him up each time.

We had originally started our son in another nursery setting, but for a number of reasons, it quickly became clear it wasn’t the right place for them. We wanted somewhere more nurturing, with a feeling of family, and we found that and more in Monkey Puzzle. The staff are warm, friendly, fun and caring.
They take time to get to know the children as individuals, and I love how they follow the children’s interests as they set the topics and activities for each week. The office staff are fantastic, always happy to help and have often gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Our little boy has a food intolerance, and we’re so grateful for the care that is shown in taking that into account but also ensuring that he isn’t left out. We love the Monkey Puzzle family.

Couldn't recommend this nursery anymore. My little girl doesn't normally warm to people that well but the staff have gone above and beyond. We appreciate the staff so much. I love the updates and seeing what she's getting up to. I love to see the new things nursery has taught her, especially her sign
language! My little girl absolutely loves nursery and is always so happy to go in on her own. Everyone is so welcoming and reassuring, I like to hear about her day and the team never makes me feel like I'm wasting their time!


The only thing I wish they did was little videos of getting up to some things, playing in the garden or painting, but I'm just too obsessed with my baby girl!


10/10 for us!

I couldn’t recommend the nursery more! To leave your child in someone else’s care is the most difficult thing to do. My daughter absolutely loves going to Monkey Puzzle. The continuous updates via the app is really reassuring. I love to login whilst at work and see what she has been up to. She moved
rooms recently because of turning 2, at first she was a little wary. I discussed this with the Manager, she encouraged me to come into the nursery and observe my daughter. (She was playing so happily) This was very reassuring. I felt very listened too and immediately was put at ease.
The owner, the manager, and the team are fantastic. Nurturing, honest, caring and there is a real family feel within the team.

Since our daughter started attending here, she's grown leaps and bounds. She's very social, her communication skills have improved drastically and she's always very happy to go in with never a tear in sight.
Her key workers are amazing and we get frequent, relevant updates about her progress.
Whenever
we've had any questions or concerns, the staff have been very quick to address them in a very caring, sensitive manner.
In all I would highly recommend the nursery because our daughter is very happy there.

My child has been attending Monkey Puzzle for just over 2 years and in that time has come on in leaps and bounds with his speech and learning. Monkey Puzzle are very caring towards the children and my son tells me regularly how much he likes his key worker and other staff in his room. Although it took
my son some time to settle in, he is now always excited to go to nursery and hurries me out of the door to get him there as fast as possible. Any issues we have had in the past have been addressed and dealt with really well by the management team who I cannot recommend highly enough.

My daughter started attending to Monkey Puzzle, Colchester in February 2021 and in only few months we have noticed such a difference in her communication, socialising and confidence. Also, the updates in the app and photos of the activities uploaded give you peace of mind knowing what your child has
been doing, what they've eaten. The staff are very friendly and always welcome your child with a big smile and cuddle in the morning. The management is easily approachable and in my experience, they have never let me down and always supported in any changes to my schedule in a very short notice. Overall, all things considered, I would 100% recommend Monkey Puzzle to anyone who is looking for childcare in the area!

Staff are very professional, lovely, helpful and responsive. It’s a massive worry for everyone leaving their most precious ones in strangers’ hands, but I can say they made our transition into nursery very easy. I feel like we can trust them, they listen to our needs. I really appreciate the regular
updates we get of our child’s progress; we can see a massive improvement since he’s been going there. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

We absolutely love Monkey Puzzle. We could not be more pleased with the level of care provided to our little girl.
One of the things which caught our attention when viewing 2 years ago was the amount of art on all the walls. We absolutely love all the drawings and paintings which come home.
The staff
are wonderful, friendly and caring, competent and empathetic. Our little girl comes home chatting about what she's done with them each day.
They arrange things like visits from the Police and Fire Service and do themed activities for holidays from a range of cultures.
Wholeheartedly recommend!

My child goes here. It’s an excellent nursery. The management has a great vision and good thought clarity on how to stay excellent consistently. My daughter has attended this nursery since it first opened until now, and will be leaving to start school. She has gone through every age group and has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Monkey Puzzle. She is always excited to go into nursery (even asking to go in on her birthday!). The staff are all lovely
and helpful, and a special mention to one member of staff in particular who my daughter absolutely adores and always goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend this nursery and have never had any issues. My daughter has learnt a lot during her time there and I feel it has truly benefitted her in the lead-up to school.

Our 18-month-old has been attending Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Colchester for just over 6 months now and we couldn't be happier. He attends 3 times a week and quickly built a lovely bond with his key worker. His personality and his confidence have grown steadily and he is thriving. It's obvious that
the care he receives from all of the staff at Monkey Puzzle Colchester is of a very high standard and he loves seeing the staff and his friends every day. Initially we were worried about how he would settle as he has spent most of his life in lockdown but we needn't have been concerned. He surprises us so often with new things he does and the sign language he has learnt. The nursery is very clean, with modern equipment and it is evident that the staff and managers all take pride in their nursery. The play activities are linked to the educational development of the children and fed back to parents regularly. Our son eats nutritious meals and always comes home with a full tummy, tired and very happy.

My son has been attending Monkey Puzzle since he was very small. It was hard leaving him to return back to work but I have been so well supported by Monkey Puzzle and my son absolutely loves coming into nursery! Everything from the meals, the space, the things they get up to each day are all fantastic
qualities about this nursery. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Colchester area, especially if you’re looking to start from when they are very young this is the best place to be.

Hello, my name is Manjit and I am the owner of Monkey Puzzle Colchester. I am originally from Kent, but recently relocated to Essex with my wife and business partner Sandy, and our two lovely children, Siena and MJ.Nursery Staff


I do not come from a childcare background, I successfully achieved a BA in Accountancy in 2003 and worked in the city for a number of years. Over time I decided that office work was not for me and I wanted to direct my expertise elsewhere. My wife and I both decided that we wanted a new challenge and chose childcare as our first business venture; we had observed a number of shortcomings and weaknesses from our son’s Nursery and became passionate about quality childcare and felt a strong desire to do it ourselves and do it better.


Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries are an excellent childcare business to be a part of, we knew we were moving into a thriving childcare industry but Monkey Puzzle stood out as a chain to invest in due to its longstanding reputation and proven success rates.


In my spare time I love watching Football (Chelsea :0)). I play cricket, badminton and enjoy running. I also love spending time with my family and friends.
