Crescent Day Nursery, set in a converted building not far from Birmingham city centre, offers a welcoming and inclusive setting. Great public transport links make the nursery a convenient option for commuting parents, and the onsite parking makes drop offs and pick ups as easy as possible.

Lovingly restored, children benefit from the setting's large and characterful spaces. There are four playrooms in the nursery as well as a safe and secure garden to ensure children benefit from time spent outdoors.

A range of resources and activities are designed and implemented by an experienced and kind team, with every aspect of provision created with the EYFS principles in mind, seeking to promote social, emotional and physical development.

Parents and families benefit from a fully inclusive service that includes formula milk, nappies, nappy cream, baby wipes, sun cream and freshly prepared, well-balanced meals throughout the day.

Crescent Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Mini Athletics every alternate Monday and Friday morning from 10am to 11:30am for their Bumblebee and Pre School rooms.

*7am start is available at an additional cost. Standard opening time is 7.30am.

My son has recently started at Crescent Day Nursery and has settled extremely well. He has formed a strong bond already with his key worker and seems to be extremely happy. The variety and quality of the food served is fantastic, and my son seems to eat everything! The team is always thinking of new
ways to engage the babies, and my son is constantly playing with new things. I am wholeheartedly happy with my decision to choose Crescent.

My daughter has recently joined Crescent Day Nursery and we have found the nursery to be fantastic so far. The settling in process has been very smooth and it really does feel like a home from home. Everyone is so friendly and caring and the lovely environment has made the transition to nursery (and
back to work for me) much easier on our family. We love the daily updates, the food is great and I know my little girl is in safe hands. We’re so pleased with our decision to choose this nursery.

Our daughter was a lockdown baby and hadn't socialised much before starting at the Crescent Day Nursery in May, so I was very nervous about how her transition would go. I can honestly say, I needn't have worried as the care and support she has received at the Crescent has been outstanding. We have been
absolutely over the moon with every aspect of nursery life; the staff, and particularly her key worker, have been wonderful and the regular updates and photos that are uploaded on the app always reinforce that we chose the right nursery! The food, facilities and varied activities provided are first-class, in my opinion, the best of any nursery in Birmingham and we visited a few! As a first time mum, it felt like a huge and important decision choosing the right nursery and I can say without any doubt, that the Crescent was the best nursery we could have chosen for our daughter. She reaches her arms out for her key worker and the smiles I see on the nursery photos say it all! Can't recommend enough!

Choosing Crescent Day for my daughter's nursery was the best decision I have ever made. You can truly see the work ethic and the fact that it is maintained by all staff and passed through to the children. When she started I felt at ease knowing she'd be assigned a key worker that would be present on
all the days she attended. I was updated on her progress every day. Another comfort to me was being able to check the app throughout the day whilst I was at work to see the various activities, nappy changes, naps, how much she ate for the day and pictures.
Staff at Crescent Day use a child-centred approach and really support parents through development at home, ensuring that they consider your learning styles; whether it be activities you like to do with your children, nap times and potty training. Overall I can say I have had the best experience with Crescent Day. All the staff are caring and welcoming and the support given during the pandemic is astounding. I highly recommend them.

I had been fairly apprehensive about sending my 10-month-old daughter to a nursery during a national lockdown, but I can say the staff at Crescent have supported me and enabled a smooth transition for my daughter over the past month that she has been there. Her keyworkers have been nothing short of
amazing, and the manager, assistant manager and admin have always reassured me to speak directly with her keyworker that she is with on the day. My daughter appears relaxed when we get there, the occasional tears don not last long and stop before I ever get back to my car. I believe she is thoroughly enjoying the activities on offer and interacting well with other children there, considering she has been in lockdown for the duration of her life. The app allows me regular access to her day from nappy changed to her meals and the different activities. It is an open and honest environment, and my husband and I are content that we have made the right choice. Thank you, team Crescent.

Been sending our son here since he turned one. He absolutely loves nursery. When he had a brief break due to lockdown last year at three months old, we were worried that he will not settle but as soon as we parked up he could not wait to get out. All staff have been so supportive and go out their way
to make sure his well being is their number one priority. He is so happy here and gives us great reassurance. Will be sending our youngest here in a few months.

Our son has been attending Crescent Day Nursery since May 2019, and he has enjoyed his time there from the first second. The team was so professional, welcoming, and supportive. For our son, it is his second home. We have never had a single concern or worry about him when he is there. Recently our son
started potty training, and his key person is really loving, caring, and patient to accompany him throughout the new challenge. He came back home and told us: "She is my best friend because she helps me!"

I couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery for our son, and neither could he. I think the best testament to the quality of care he receives is the excitement he shows every morning as he walks in the door of Crescent. He clearly loves his time there, and in a short time has already formed a bond
with many of the excellent staff. The range of activities and play that he experiences is fantastic and not something I could replicate at home, and he is thriving on all these new experiences. The staff keep us updated on what he is doing through the day, via the app, and overall communication from the nursery is excellent, particularly over the lockdown period. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter started nursery at 16 months and although I was still breastfeeding and dealing with her food allergies, she transitioned into nursery life much better than I imagined. The staff tailor the care to the individual child’s needs, and as my daughter approaches her third birthday she absolutely
loves it at nursery. The staff are well trained, pro-active and under a strong leadership team. They have nutritious meals, excellent outdoor facilities and take part in engaging and stimulating activities. Cleanliness is high on the agenda, everyone is welcoming and friendly and really enjoy working as a team which you can see. I would recommend the nursery to friends and family and you can be confident that your child is in a safe and nurturing environment whilst learning through what they love the most, play.

My son is very settled at the nursery and has formed a great bond with all the caretakers. He is well looked after, which gives us the leave of mind whilst he is at the Nursery.

Our son has been attending the nursery for over a year now. From day one he has loved it there. I feel happy and confident that he is in a happy and safe environment with lots of activities to do during the day. All the staff are wonderful and really care for the children. There are so many resources
for the children and the garden is huge and very beautiful. I would not want to send him anywhere else. I would highly recommend the nursery.

Wonderful nursery. Very clean with friendly staff. Various activities are set up each day so there is always something new to experience, from painting to storytelling to baking. My son joined Crescent Day Nursery when he was 9 months old, he has really grown to be more confident. He always has an amazing time and has lovely relationships with the teams at the nursery. Not only can his networker feedback on his development but also management are always aware of how he is doing
and his milestones. He is nearly 2 years old and honestly, this nursery has really influenced the little toddler he is today. They have an amazing app so I can see what he has eaten throughout the day, when he has slept and they even share private images for me to see him having fun during the day. It’s a safe and friendly environment and I would recommend this nursery highly!

My daughter started at the Crescent in January at 13 months of age and she absolutely loves it. The staff are excellent, very friendly and very caring towards the children. The two key worker policy has been very helpful in providing consistency but luckily my daughter seems to have a good relationship
with all of the staff which has been particularly helpful due to the rotating furlough scheme during Coronavirus. In spite of the change of personnel, she has remained very settled. My partner and I are so much more elated about going to work knowing that she is happy, stimulated and well looked after. We get regular updates on Parentzone as well as verbal feedback at the end of the day. Information sharing is obviously a priority at the nursery which is extremely helpful. The nursery has also been very flexible about adding additional days on an ad hoc basis which is also an excellent feature. All in all, we are very happy with our choice of nursery.

What a lovely nursery. They have really helped my daughter to settle in. Everyone knows my daughter's name and she now goes straight to them without crying and with a smile on her face. The quality of the food is brilliant and we are constantly updated via the app throughout the day about what and how
much she has eaten. They are always keeping an eye on her progress and development and upload pictures of any new activities.
The nursery itself is so clean with lovely natural toys.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the nursery have been proactive sending out emails with ideas of ways to keep your children entertained at home with basic learning activities.
I would highly recommend The Crescent Day Nursery for any family thinking about bringing their child here.

My son has really enjoyed his time at Crescent Day Nursery since his first day. The staff are enthusiastic, professional, loving and caring. I would say I am blessed to find Crescent Day Nursery for my son. Every corner of the nursery is very hygienic and clean. Fully equipped spacious activity rooms, well-controlled temperature with air purifier. The garden area is spotless with a good selection of outdoor activities. Good variety of food
children love it. The whole team is very enthusiastic, hard-working, focused and dedicated towards children’s individual care, hygiene and development. They are keen on achieving the milestones of every child’s development and understandings. Every week there are new creative activities so children always look forward to go back to the nursery. Every festival is celebrated with kids theme parties and special activities. Hats off to the Crescent team for the creativity and efforts. Your thoughtfulness and dedication matters the most. I am very happy with my child’s development and comfort. I would recommend it to everyone.

Laura is the manager of Crescent Day Nursery in Birmingham and has a wealth of experience, having worked at Childbase Partnership since 2011. Laura has a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
I love our large outdoor environment the children have a range of experiences and our open-plan layout allows plenty of free flow.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The range of activities that the practitioners set out for the children and how they go above and beyond for every child. We are also proud of our teamwork and how we all work together.
