Our son who is nearly three has been at the nursery for a year and a half now and we are really happy that we have found it. The staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond supporting us as a family. This became especially clear during the pandemic, when the nursery stepped up a very robust
cleaning and safety protocol, while managing not to change its friendly and personable atmosphere at all, quite a feature! They know every child by name and impressively manage to recognise all parents from a distance with their masks and hats on. It is always a pleasure to watch our son and his little tribe emerge from the nursery with fun stories of the day. Another extra are the special emails they send out on a regular basis which explain the reasoning behind some of the games which can be used at home. The nursery also has amazing facilities and is in a great location, so it is always a nice bonus to be able to hang around and play with a few other kids and parents after we pick up the kids.

My little one is getting on for three and has been attending this nursery for nearly two and a half years, part-time. I didn't really know what to expect of a nursery, the environment, the facilities or the staff when we first started looking. After taking a look at a couple, it became very clear that
not all nurseries are alike. At Eddington, the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. The facilities are fantastic - the rooms are bright and airy, with an enclosed courtyard to play in. The food seems to be great, based on the menu and what my little one tells me she's eaten during the day. But crucially, she likes it there, and she has from day one. She's formed a close bond with the two key workers she's had so far, and they've both shown genuine care and nurture. Given what's been going on with COVID, she's not been in as often as a precaution and she talks about looking forward to going back. What more can a parent ask for in a nursery.

The facilities are brilliant, the activities really carefully thought out, and the staff at Eddington are absolutely fantastic - so friendly and caring and responsible. My daughter has a great relationship with her key person (and co-key person!) and can't wait to go and play with her friends at the
nursery every morning. It's lovely to know I'm leaving her in such good hands.

Staff very friendly, always willing to help.

Discovery day was a great experience to see what my little one does when at nursery. It was very well organised and staff were willing to answer any questions I had.

We are so pleased that our daughter goes to Eddington Nursery. The staff are brilliant, her individual caregiver has gone above and beyond to help us get a routine established, and we really feel that she is benefiting by attending. Interactions are always positive, even when we had concerns about
non-napping, the staff were dedicated and tireless until they cracked it. Our key person works hard to let us know what they have been working on and how, so that we have continuity between nursery and home. Food is tasty and well thought out. The equipment is wonderful and well thought out. It's a constant wonder to us that the children get through as many different activities as they do and yet the rooms are always spick and span each day. I really like the fact that our daughter is known by name by staff who work in other rooms, and the fact that the nursery continues our use of washable nappies.

We are absolutely delighted with this nursery. Our son (almost 3) was looked after at home before, and we weren't sure how well he'd settle in. We needn't have worried: every member of staff was brilliant from day one - very warm and engaging - and it wasn't long before he was demanding to go to nursery
in the mornings. The management is very helpful, responsive and friendly, and everyone who works here seems genuinely to love little children and enjoy looking after them. When we pick our son up, he's always doing something fun (painting, dressing-up, running about in the lovely playground). The food here is healthy and varied, and the children are very successfully encouraged to try unfamiliar things. As well as providing a stimulating and nurturing environment, the staff are also really good at dealing with slightly more challenging behaviour; they appear utterly unphased by the odd tantrum. We think the nursery is brilliant, and have recommended it to friends.

What makes me the happiest and most satisfied is to see that my son is happy to attend his sessions. After a negative experience with another childcare provider, we decided to wait for this nursery to open and so far, it has been the best decision we took as a family for the well-being and development
of our son.
We cannot thank you enough for all that you do in helping working parents and also, most importantly, for treating our child like we would at home.

Our daughter started the nursery in January and we couldn’t be happier. She comes home happy and always wants to go to nursery in the morning. She is fed well and the menu looks healthy. She does a range of activities whilst there (painting, listening to stories, songs and dress up). She sleeps well
and settled to her room from day one. On top of that, the staff and manager are so friendly and are happy to help. The outside area looks great and the kids would love it in the summer.

I am absolutely delighted with our experience so far at the Bright Horizons Eddington. My son has attended the nursery since December 2018. Every day he comes home happy. The staff are absolutely lovely and attentive. The facility itself is extraordinary... award-winning architecture, spotlessly clean
and full of stimulating toys and activities. The manager is extremely helpful. 10 out of 10! We feel very fortunate to have a place here.

My daughter loves this nursery. I am really pleased with the level of care, attention and support they provide. The facilities and outside garden are really well thought of and made. The staff of this nursery is very helpful, professional and committed. They give the child the opportunity to express
their true personality and grow through their organised activities.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.755)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.755) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Eddington Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.915 for Bright Horizons Eddington Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (65 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.915

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.84 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Eddington Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 125 number of registered child places is 25. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 25 = 0.24

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
