My daughter attends Hopscotch Fareham in the baby room and has done for the last few months. Due to her being my first child, I was extremely nervous about her starting nursery but the team at Hopscotch went above and beyond to put my mind at ease. Everyone is so friendly and says hello when you enter
the building and recognises your face. The baby room has made my daughter feel so welcome and she is such a confident, happy little girl thanks to the incredible team. There is a huge range of activities for the children to learn and develop their own preferences and personalities. Something that was super important to me when looking for a nursery setting was the quality of meals provided to the children, and Hopscotch goes above and beyond to give the children new tastes/cuisines that are amazing quality. The gardens are also lovely and spacious! I would always recommend this setting and can’t thank them enough for giving my little girl such a caring and fun environment to grow.

From the minute we did our first walk round we knew this would be the place for our son. The focus was very much on him, his routine and also my support as I returned to work which helped me massively take the next step in the life of first-time parents. Since then they have always been so caring, kind
and supportive of him, his key worker in the baby room even needing endless patience when my son was in no rush to walk!
He's now in the toddler room and again the time is taken to ensure a smooth transition and get to know his new key worker and team in the room has meant a continuation of a happy, chatty and loveable lil chap. Even the health visitor on a recent visit praised how personal his review was and time taken. Being a military mum having a dedicated worker to provide extra support to him and me during the times away has been a great help to both of us.
Thank you to all the staff for your hard work, time and dedication you take into my son and every child at Hopscotch Fareham.

Thank you for this lovely review. Looking after your child has been an absolute pleasure, he has always been such a kind caring little boy with the cheekiest personality. He has taken each transition in his stride and we believe that is because of the brilliant parent partnership we have been able to create. It was such a huge milestone for him when he began walking and the whole baby room team were extremely proud of him. He is such a confident little boy in toddlers and watching him grow day by day is fantastic, he picks up new skills so quickly. The toddler room children really gravitate towards him as he is such a sociable little boy with a huge friendship group.

We could not be happier with our choice to send our son to Hopscotch Fareham. We looked around several settings but Hopscotch Fareham stood out by a long way. Staff are all super friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable and genuinely caring. Our son has a huge smile on his face each time we pull into
the car park and again when he sees any of the staff, particularly his key workers who have been an incredible support. He settled very quickly and sometimes doesn’t want to leave in the evenings when I arrive to pick him up! Home/nursery contact is outstanding and I feel very relaxed and comfortable leaving our little one there each day as I know he will have a great time and above all else, be incredibly well looked after by the whole team. I have two children at this nursery and they are amazing with both. My eldest has always loved going to nursery from 1 and is currently in preschool. He is always challenged and has engaging activities covering a variety of skills from language and counting to gross and fine motor skills. The staff
are all very caring and have a genuine interest in my children. Our children's key workers are always on hand for advice. My youngest needs some additional support and the nursery has been amazing in understanding how they can support him and games and activities that will help. You're always given a detailed handover of their day. We absolutely love this nursery and the amazing staff. The soft play and sensory room is an amazing addition and a favourite of both the children.

I would thoroughly recommend sending your child to Fareham Hopscotch. My son has been with Fareham for 3 years so far and has flourished in their care.
A safe and happy place; the staff are exceptional and the rooms are full of brilliant resources and space for the children to be creative, physical
and play. The online communication platform keeps parents in touch with their child's day including regular photo observations and the management staff are quick to resolve any issues. I am soon to send my daughter to Fareham too!

This nursery is absolutely fantastic, if you’re considering sending your child here do it! I promise you won’t regret it. Both of my children have attended this nursery from toddlers up to pre school and they have never once been anything less than fantastic! To the point where my eldest who is now
in year 1 still speaks of her time there fondly and loves getting to go back to collect my youngest and the youngest wants them all to come to her birthday party! If you send your child to this nursery you will never have to worry about whether they’re being cared for properly or educationally stimulated or fed well or emotionally engaged with, these guys are the bees knees!

Our daughter has been going to Hopscotch Day Nursery Fareham since January 2020 when she was 11 months old. She is now in pre-school and her development over the years has been amazing despite Covid. She has additional needs but the staff have been on hand to provide additional support where needed
and have been so caring, I am sure she has them all wrapped around her little finger! We have had the support needed to get an Education, Health and Care Plan in place which, ensures the right levels of support are provided for her education and wellbeing. She has had an epileptic seizure while at the setting. The team were quick to deal with the situation by contacting my wife and getting an ambulance arranged as quickly as possible. The staff dealt with the matter in a very professional but caring way. Since this we have had a care plan put in place which the nursery have supported. We will all be very sad when she goes to Big school next September, Hopscotch Day Nursery Fareham have helped provide the best start to her education.

Our little girl started here at 18 months and had severe separation anxiety however from the first settle session she has absolutely loved it and we have not had a single tear when going in. Fareham Hopscotch is run by a manager who we loved from the first time we met her. You can tell she runs a very
tight ship and all the staff are well trained and supported whilst maintaining a very fun and informal feel in the nursery. I had absolutely no concerns about leaving my child in her care.
The staff are all wonderful and caring, they are tactile with my child when she needs that extra support which with Covid was something I feared would be lacking... I had no reason to be concerned.
My little girl was a little slow with her talking and the staff were quick to put her in a speaking group to give her extra help, she has caught up with her peers now and is a little chatterbox.
I honestly cannot rate this nursery highly enough, it is the one I suggest to anyone who asks.

My daughter has a lovely time at this setting. The staff are very attentive and caring, and the manager does a great job. There's always plenty to do and she loves the garden there.
My only 'good' point and not excellent is because the car park has horrible stones on instead of tarmac.

Our son started with Hopscotch Day Nursery Fareham in 2019 at 7 months old and there is nowhere else we would choose to send him. From the very start, the communication between staff and us has been incredible, especially navigating their way around a pandemic. Our son has thrived within the setting
and we have felt at ease as parents dropping him off each week.
Along the way the nursery has helped with losing dummies, potty training, speech and made all of these transitions easy. Their current work in preschool for getting the children ready for the school start in September is fantastic. The staff really care about the children and give them such an exciting day, every day. We really couldn’t recommend them enough and with a second child on the way we are excited for the journey to start all over again with Hopscotch.

I have been with Hopscotch Day Nursery since it opened and cannot say a bad word towards it. All staff members are so welcoming and helpful at all stages of my children's development. The support given whether it's teething, potty training or speech, is exceptional, there is always someone that is able
to help and guide us in the right direction. The facilities are great, especially having the area of soft play. My kids love coming into nursery, and I would 100% recommend

I can’t praise Hopscotch Fareham highly enough for how they have supported my daughter to grow and develop. Our daughter has SEN, which we didn’t know at the time of choosing a nursery so this didn’t really factor into our choice of nursery, however, they have gone above and beyond in this area. They’ve
supported various therapies to visit within the nursery setting, continuously kept us updated with her progress and targets, supported her in areas of need but challenged her to excel in all areas she is able to. I’ve never been in doubt our daughter is safe and looked after at Hopscotch and this really is so important as a working family, to feel like the nursery is a home from home for our daughter and she has strong bonds with all the staff. The opportunities at Hopscotch for her to grow and develop are so varied and the biggest bonus of having a whole room dedicated to soft play, which during lockdowns this was invaluable for the children to still have access to!

We've been really pleased with the standard of care provided for our 21-month-old daughter since she started just over a year ago.
She had a number of nutritional needs that were taken into account brilliantly (to the extent that sometimes we asked them for tips on what they were feeding her!)
Her
previous key worker was fab and the transition to her new key worker has been more or less seamless.
We always feel like we are being taken seriously and that our requests are being honoured. Responses to emails are swift and comprehensive.

My son attends preschool. He started when 14-months-old in Toddler, and I can’t fault anything. His development has come on in leaps and bounds, he looks forward to routine and structure and thrives with activities provided in preschool. He has become more adventurous with foods and trying things he
wouldn’t touch at home. I viewed several nurseries and although Hopscotch Day Nursery Fareham isn’t local to my home, I wouldn’t have him anywhere else.

Hello, my name is Dani Athersmith, and I am the Nursery Manager at Hopscotch Day Nursery Fareham.


I have been working in early years settings since 2011, starting as an apprentice before qualifying and gaining experience in various environments with children of all age groups. I joined the Hopscotch team in October 2018 at our Botley location, where I began as a practitioner in the toddler room before advancing to senior practitioner. In September 2019, I transferred to our lovely new Fareham setting, taking on the role of Room Leader for U2 and becoming the third in charge. In March 2022, I was promoted to Deputy Manager at Fareham.


At Fareham, our team of practitioners is dedicated to creating a stimulating environment where children feel safe and secure, enabling them to learn and develop the skills they need to thrive as they grow. I am particularly passionate about fostering strong partnerships with parents to build trust, ensuring that children feel comfortable and secure while in our care.


We understand how challenging it can be to send your child to nursery, and we strive to offer the best possible care, creating a home-from-home experience that aligns with each child's individual routine.

Hi, my name is Felicity, and I've been part of the Hopscotch Journey at Fareham since 2020. For five years, I had the privilege of managing our Preschool team while also enhancing my skills with a qualification in Special Educational Needs. I collaborate closely with our Manager, Dani, and we are both dedicated to providing outstanding childcare. Our main aim is to give all our children the best start possible as they prepare to transition to school. We look forward to welcoming you into Hopscotch Fareham :)
